471737 tn?1327252451 s okay to use Tobrex (tobramycin Ophalmic Oinment) or Garamycin for STYE? My 2 year old has many stye, before I use this oinment I want to make sure that is safe for infant. Thank you.
Avatar n tn Yes, I've had my stye for 6 months now, I've beed trying to get rid of it. I went to an eye doctor, he said it was a "pimple"... that sounds like BS to me. He also prescribed me TobraDex Stye Ointment, but I've seen NO results out of it. I also tried the warm compress, but my stye is too old and solid to react to it.
Avatar f tn I have had migraines daily because of it and struggle with everyday activities such as homework. Not only have I had this stye for 6 MONTHS!!! But it gets worse everyday! Every doctor I see says “hot compresses and eye ointment will get rid of it in a few days” I’ve tried both and much more for six months. Right now I had to miss school due to a migraine again and I can’t see anything but blur in my eye. It feels like my whole eye is about to fall out and I’m in severe pain daily.
Avatar f tn i got prescribed an oinment for my eye, i have amoxicillan, is it useful for treatment of the stye?
Avatar n tn I've had a stye on my lower lid for 1 1/2 years. It comes to a head, drains, relaxes, flairs up, comes to a head, drains, relaxes, flairs up...etc. but never heals! Same thing over and over again. Comes to a head at least once a week, sometimes more. I've seen two different opthamologists. One said I have blepharitis and gave me antibiotic ointment, the other recommended hot compress 4 times a day. Which I will admit, I wasn't doing.
Avatar f tn Is it possible for an internal stye/Chalazion and herpes inside eyelid to be confused for one another?
Panda I just got a stye.
Avatar f tn It is called a "stye" not a "star". You need to see an ophthalmologist Eye MD for a diagnosis and treatment. Find one at www.aao.org or ask your family MD to refer you.
Avatar n tn The eyelid itself is a bit swollen, but other than that no specific symptoms. Any insight as to what may be going on? The most common result I see is stye, but I don't have a pimple or bump of any kind.
Avatar n tn s power, you should microwave it for 20 - 40 seconds. Place it over the eyelid with the stye. The rice should stay warm for at least 3 - 4 minutes. Do this several times per day. It helps to soften up the clogged oils inside the stye and encourage it to drain. If this doesn't help, see an Eye-MD for simple surgical drainage in the office.
5999971 tn?1378138559 I googled stye and they are on the lids. This is on the outer white part of my left eyeball. Can I get a stye on my eyeball?
Avatar f tn Hi, For the past 10 days or so, I have what I think is a stye IN the lower eyelid of my left eye. It looks like a red bump, but with no apparent white or yellow head. I googled some images and looks pretty much like a chalazion stye. I've been putting ointment on it at night (called STYE) but have not really done any warm/hot compresses with it. Is there something else that can be done to get rid of this thing, or am I going to the Eye doctor for medication? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Severe ones may have a yellow spot in the center. The basic treatment is warm compresses to the stye for 10 minutes x 4/day, also antibiotic ointment. Let the stye drain on its own, do not squeeze it or you could spread the infection. Also avoid any eye makeup and contact lenses until this has cleared up. Many people get these and they are fairly common. It does not spread to other parts of the eye unless another follicle is clogged.
997898 tn?1303734864 thanks for the thoughts ray...def not a stye or infection. i just looked in the mirror not 5 minutes ago and it looks like a blood vessel or something has ruptured on my eye lid.. weird...that doesn't hurt tho....just the outside corner and the twitching has increased in frequency..twitching is annoying, but no big deal. just wondering if i should call the doc (which one?!) since i will be flying next week. ruptured blood vessels could be from increased pressure, right?
Avatar n tn s a good idea for you to see an ophthalmologist for evaluation and treatment of the stye. I usually recommend you try to stop the contacts for a little while while treatment is started.
Avatar n tn Its not itchy, its not a stye, the first aider thinks its not a stye. Some mornings it sore but its a solid mass in my eye lid.
Avatar f tn Please, really only looking for someone with a medical background to answer this question, since I've already confronted the varying info out there on the web... I have what I think is a stye on the lower lid of my right eye. There's a pain and a swelling, though I can't see anything that looks like an exterior pimple or spot, per se. I'm going to the doctor on Monday...but my question is, how contagious are styes, and in what manner?
Avatar f tn It is approx 2-3mm round, flat and creamy yellow in colour.it doesnt look like a stye. He has used an Optrex eyewash and this has helped ease the discomfort. Can anyone give me some advice as our doctors clinics in the UK dont open at the weekend! Thanks.
Avatar n tn mrs, Is this white spot raised? Does it look like a pimple? If so, it could be a stye. A stye is an infection (pimple-like) that can occur on the inside and outside of the eyelid. I've had two seperate styes before (at different times) that lasted a few days each. I don't think styes last for years though... The best way to rid a stye is to wash your hands a lot before touching your face and putting warm (not hot!) compresses on your infected eyelid.
Avatar m tn Hi Dr. Oyakawa, If it is not a "stye" do you know what it might be?
Avatar f tn Hi.... I have a suggestion for you... 1) Hot compresses several times a day! If its a clogged oil gland or a clogged eyelash hair follicle...you will need to "heat up" the stagnant oil. This can be done using a hot wet compress several times a day. I kow its painful, but as soon as it comes to a head and pops or drains, the pain should subside. If you are not getting relief...go to an Ophthalmologist...
Avatar m tn Hi all, So I had this bump near my eye that based on a bit of research I thought was a stye. It looked like a pus bump and I used to squeeze it. It seems I may have been mistaken though since I just saw that the stye is on your eye lid...my bump was where you see the red dot in this image http://imgur.com/pVpPY. So this morning, still thinking it was a stye, I put some warm water on it when I was in the shower. By 4pm, it looked like there was a second bump right beside it.
