Avatar n tn For burning throat, gargle with salt water immediately and keep doing it. Take Montelukast+levocetirizine for 10 days one daily(0-0-1) preferably night. take multivitamins and gargle with Tantum before food, betadine(1:5) and hydrogen peroxide(1:10) after food for three days. Take dichlo for pain relieving for 2 days(1-0-1). If symptoms persist, rush to the ENT specialist.
Avatar n tn I took Montelukast (Singulair) for about one month and began having extreme nightmares and panic attacks. I stopped the montelukast immediately, and the nightmares stopped. But the panic attacks continue. I know others have had similar reactions, but I wonder if anyone has found out how to make the effects go away? I have been off the medication for over 3 months now.
Avatar f tn Hydroxyzine worked for me. I had a terrible itchy rash and little red spots over most of my body. The itch was especially tormenting at night.
Avatar m tn Hi Nick, In short, anything is possible and many meds mixing together certainly make it harder to know what is doing what. Norvasc appears to be for blood pressure normally and a list of drug interactions can be found here : http://www.rxlist.com/norvasc-drug.htm. I claim no knowledge except of what site to look at for this info. Much of it I wouldn't follow either but it will hopefully mean something to you.
Avatar n tn Odimont is not in my Nurse's Drug Book. I did an Internet search and one site gave the generic name as montelukast which is sold in the U.S. under the brand name Singulair. If this is medicaiton you have been prescribed, it is not a steroid. When you say fluticone do you mean fluticasone? If so, it is an inhaled corticosteroid. Medrol is a corticosteroid. I was not able to find any information on formanide. Corticosteroids do have side effects and should not be stopped abruptly.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome.
Avatar f tn I have seen an ENT specialist at Max Hospitals Delhi, and he has prescribed Montelukast Sodium and Levocetirizine hydrochloride tablets for allergy...could allergy make some people choke on food?
Avatar n tn I have heard of others, especially children, experiencing the same or similar neuropsychiatric side effects with Montelukast and would love to know if someone found something that has helped. I just started a full body detox plan with the hope that that might help, and I wonder if there is something that might help with brain inflammation if that is the problem. I am seeing a naturopath who is very helpful. He referred me to an accupuncturist which helps but not completely.
Avatar n tn Hi, 2nd generation anti histamines are quite effective in allergic conditions and are devoid/minimal sedative (sleepiness) side effects. These include levocetirizine, loratidine etc. this can be combined with nasal decongestants (combination are available) and should be taken against prescription. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn I want to know for general medical knowledge that if there are no results, does it also mean that corticosteroid will be unable to produce any of the side effects since body is not responding. I know that corticosteroid used in nasal sprays is anyways local application only but it also has " increased eye pressure" as a rare side effect. my eye pressures hover around 20-22 , how safe for someone like me would it be to take and for how long ?
Avatar n tn I'm not sure how long it's been, but I think it was a couple or so weeks ago when I noticed that I was getting a rash on the rim of my belly button, and a little in my actual belly button. After some time it spread to the skin around my belly button, and recently, it spread even further. I'm starting to get worried. I thought it was nothing and that it would go away eventually, but im starting to think it may be something troublesome.
Avatar m tn She prescribed Nasonex 2x2, Ipratropium bromide inhalation and Levocetirizine for 10 days. A follow up 10 days later, i was still coughing and she then prescribed Narivent which was so disgusting that i almost puked from it and Prospan (Hedera helix syrup). This did not help, yet again, and i was still coughing. Third follow up after 10 days was prescribed Nasonex again, salt water and a seretide inhaler.
Avatar m tn i have a right side throat pain for two weeks. i had problem in swallowing saliva, food and drinks. i went to an ENT doctor and he said (after visual exam) tonsillitis in both the side. he prescribed me cefunonyme (250mg) + potassium clavulanate(125mg), levocitrizine (10mg) + montelukast (10mg) , povidone iodine gargle for 10 days course otherwise surgery is required. i have taken medicines for 4 days and 50% improvement is noticed. i am afraid of surgery, what to do in this case?
Avatar n tn Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
Avatar n tn There are other classes of asthma medicines, called controller medicines and these do not have the same excitatory side effects. The 2 classes are 1) inhaled steroids and 2) orally administered medicines that block biochemical asthma pathways involved in asthma worsening, an example of which is Singulair® (montelukast sodium). A third group of asthma medicines commonly used are, medicines similar to Xopenex® Inhalation Solution (levalbuterol) but long acting for 8 to 12 hours.
Avatar n tn This stuff works better than Mercks ( montelukast sodium ) except it has no side effects and its quicker and cheaper. Then kiss your and your sons Asthma goodby. No more coughing at any time in the for eather of you. bill103 ....
Avatar n tn Heya! I take Lexapro, it's an antidepressant... and I have almost ZERO side effects! I take it for anxiety! It's helps GREATLY! I'm not saying this is for you, but don't be scared to take something if it makes you feel better! A psychologist is a great place to start too while on a med. I noticed you havent tried the Lorazepam yet... I take that too when needed. And I take it at night. Makes me feel CHILLED OUT!!! =) I LOVE IT. LOL. Helps me sleep good too.
Avatar m tn I'm allergic and I know it! I've been allergic ever since I was a little boy and I've learned to live with that. My problem is that during the last couple of years, I seem to get more and more sensitive to the allergens that trigger my reactions, as well as more prone to have shortness of breath as a primary reaction! This year, although spring hadn't affected me so far, I happened to catch a cold (whether it was the flu, a cold or bacterial infection I don't know!

Avatar f tn however, a specific pattern and relationship to montelukast has not been established. Pregnancy Considerations Maternal use of cetirizine (Zyrtec) has not been associated with an increased risk of major malformations. Avatar n tn Your left side pain could be "DIVERTICULITIS" and although Flagyl and Cipro will help with the pain, I suggest you get a colonoscopy to rule out anything else. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I have been trialed on acid reflux medication with no improvement, antibiotics, inhalers and now montelukast tablets all with no change in the cough. This is causing me a lot of anxiety and I just wondered if anybody had any advice or had any similar experiences.
