I use modafinil (200mg in the morning) for MS related fatigue and it works wonders for me. I take it as early as I can in the morning and without it I am not sure I would be able to continue to work full time. When using it I feel more alert, sharper and definitely less fatigued. However the one thing I have noticed is that my appetite completely diminishes.

As I have limited feeling in the bladder bowel areas I know that I am often unaware of the need to go (trying to be polite here) which can lead to incontinence. My probs actually began to deteriorate when I took up running.

There are no factors, including duration of therapy, that are known to predict the risk of occurrence or the severity of rash associated with modafinil or NUVIGIL. I started Modafinil last December but I honestly cannot say for sure if it works. I still get tired but it does not seem as bad as before I started it. Some days I don't take it at all and seem fine, other days I don't take it I am exhausted. I switched about 3 months ago from Rebif to Tec. Like Lori, I had to go back and start more slowly due to severe GI issues. I have been back on the full dose about 3 weeks and it is a lot better than before.

Hello there, first off all getting off seroquel is a good thing. Now speaking of Modafinil (Provigil) well i suggest it to you because it doesn't have any badside effects at all but the little side effects when you start or the ones of drinking coffee and even then i didn't notice anything stronger than coffee with Modafinil (Alertec here in Canada). I take it as a cognitive enhancer.

Hi Alex, I am sorry you are feeling so fatigued. It's rotten. Here is my experience. The modafinil not only works, but it's a complete lifesaver for me. I would be in big trouble without it. I started out on 200mg. This was a disaster for me. I am small, and I think the dose was too much. It made me feel as if I was on a train that wouldn't stop and it gave me heart palpitations. This freaked me out and I stopped immediately. Neuro recommended trying 100mg.

my son is 21 and is also bipolar with psychosis so he deals with the paranoia more. he takes abilify and modafinil (modafinil is like aderol with out the addictive reactions) it helps him stay more focused. don't know if this helps - but feel free to contact me if i can help any.

You are trying anything to feel better, including (and I had to look it up) taking an off label drug. Like all addicts who aren't in recovery, you substituted one drug for another. In your case opiates for alcohol. What you are going thru right now is withdrawl. There is NOTHING that will fix it or hurry it up except time.

Raz is right. Modafinil is still classified as a non-narcotic schedule IV drug in the US. Non-prescription importation by individual citizens is prohibited. I know people in the US order drugs and cigarettes from outside the country to save money, get meds their insurance denies and avoid high taxes. I don't blame them a bit but doubt their sources are overly secure or long lived. I do wonder what the custom tag content list says is inside. The government sets the regulations.

s understanding of sleep disorders is maturing everyday so even though it may seem like you are out of options, there may well be more tomorrow. I also want to suggest a couple meds in the meantime. Although I personally hate taking meds, I have had to accept that sometimes they are necessary. To supplement the modofanil, you might want to discuss adding a shorter acting stimulant like aderall (not XR) or maybe Xyrem for deeper sleep at night?

Modafinil just wasn't cutting it. I've switched to Amantidine, and lucky for me, no nasty side effects. Still, my fatigue is kicking my @$$! I'm good 'til about 2 pm, but pretty useless for the rest of the day. Any other Amantidine users out there? What are your experiences?
