Common Questions and Answers about Mobic and stomach problems

mobic

Avatar n tn My mama used to take Mobic and it helped her back alot. Unfortunately for her, it upset her stomach so she quit taking it with no side effects following. Best wishes.
Avatar f tn Two of them have absolutely NO problems with it and the third has a very sensitive stomach when it comes to ANY med, so they tend to have stomach issues from it, but then they have stomach issues from every pill they ever take. Depending on what kind of damage there is in your spine from the herniated discs you may or may not get much relief from it, but you won't know until you try.
Avatar m tn m also on Paxil, 10mgs per day, and Methlyne, 15mgs per day, for the depression and anxiety problems. Thx in advance for all your replys. Thom.
Avatar f tn First at all you put yourself into that because of the excessive NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) consumption, this are the enemy number one for the stomach and are able to dig a big hole on it... once the stomach is irritated the esophagus come next and gets burned with the digestive acids. As a clear example just imagine an oral thrush how painful and uncomfortable is... well, that same thing but inside your stomach and esophagus...
518798 tn?1295212279 i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.
3122657 tn?1357432602 But racky I forgot about how easy the mobic was on my stomach. And act is so rite on about naproxen. I took it 23 yrs ago. Horrible on the tummy. And also joint pain comes with hep c. Not everyone gets it. But thats how I was diagnosed, my rheumatologist.
Avatar n tn not at this point, we switched medical coverage and are having problems with finding doctors as well as coverage continuation for certain meds and supplies that is why he was switched from mobic to gabapentin, one costs 80+ the other only 13. We are sceptical of what doctors say and always try to find first hand from others their experience he was misdiagnosed twicw before he went into ketoacidosis and they figured out he was diabetic.
Avatar m tn Great information. I've done the OTC meds and that's what took me to Mobic/Meloxicam. My doctor did the preauthorization and that's what was denied. I don't even know if Celebrex is going to bet miracle. I will go to their website and see if I can get some discount coupons. Just for general information to anyone that cares..... I have seen a top gastroantonologist (spelling) who killed the myth about Tylenol and liver function.
Avatar m tn 50 mg and yea motrin 800 doesn't work for me either and is rough on my stomach but mobic(that's the non generic name for meloxicam) is only 15mg and doesn't bother my stomach.
199177 tn?1490498534 I am putting this in our group as well because I know alot of us take NSAIDs to help keep us in recovery. So here is the thing there are many of us dealing with chronic daily pain I am one of them .I don't take over the daily amounts but I do take them daily .I have been having alot of problems lately with gastro problems one off them was acid reflux last week it started come up with blood .This was not the only problem but the rest I am not going to go into detail with.
Avatar f tn This usually is accompanied by low-back pain; deformities of the leg, hip, and foot; problems walking; weakness and loss of sensation in the legs; scoliosis; and incontinence. The symptoms may increase gradually, and therefore may not be recognized until significant nerve problems appear. Some of these neurological deficits may be permanent.
Avatar n tn Please tell me the side effects and potential problems when taking all of the following medications by prescription: Cymbalta (60 MG), Hydrocodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Ibuprofen (800 MG), Mobic (15 MG), Oxycodone-Acetaminophen (5-500 MG), Plaquenil (200 MG), Xanax (0.5 MG).

Avatar n tn I was taking Ibuprofen for years and the pain in my knees was intollerable and I was confined to a wheel chair. About a year ago I started taking 1400 IU of Vitamin D and stopped the ibuprofen totally, my arthritis was doing MUCH better, even started taking short walks, however, recently, I had an injury and started taking Ibuprofen.....now my knees hurt all the time. Can Ibuprofen deplete vitamin D?
1276940 tn?1564515084 I take it with food, first thing in the morning, and it still upsets my stomach. I have tried taking it every other day. But it still bothers my stomach on the days I take it. I need to see my Rheumy to find out what is causing this pain, to get some relief that won't upset my stomach & get a dx for this pain, if there is one. Am I being unreasonable? Since IDK what is going on with me, or my current Rheumy......
Avatar n tn My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?
Avatar n tn Help me understand and emg : mild axonopathy of the left lower c4-c5cervical nerve roots..
Avatar m tn This has been going on for 3 years. The problems is that I cannot take any NSAIDs because of an ulcer. So painkillers and anti-inflammatories are out. Do you have luck with anything natural? Have you found an anti-inflammatory diet helps much? Any tips would be very appreciated. I am feeling my first flare up starting since coming off the pain medicine and DO NOT want to go back on unless absolutely necessary.
Avatar f tn I now have a sudden swelling around the fibula side were they put the plate and 6 screws. It is the size of a small egg and is tender to the touch. I have taken two days worth of meloxecam or mobic. The swelling is down some but it is still tender to the touch. Could this be the beginning of rejection?
Avatar f tn Today a Doctor gave me a script for Mobic, for wrist pain that I have had for the past month from repative work,my Urate levels are at 52 just over limit.Im on Asprin and fluid tablets which can raise these levels. A specialist doctor I saw says it is gout I don't believe it is...I'm unsure about taking the Mobic though for my wrist ??
1311475 tn?1274198780 In all of the years I have been on these medications I have had very little problems concerning my health and the issues with the side effects. 4 years ago I had other problems at an apartment I lived in like my sleep apnea machine smelled like the water I poured in smelled like some kind of gas, and other things like someone coming in my apartment and moving things around, at the time this police detective told me to move from the apartment and none of this stuff would happen again.
Avatar m tn Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.
635402 tn?1270162477 The have tried pain management techniques, chiropractic therapy, bio feed back, the list goes on. They have tried morphine, and vicodin among other drugs they and these did not help. They are trying Meloxicam usually just called Mobic. I looked it up, it doesn't say anything about being for pain, but it is an anti inflammatory med, so I wondered if anyone else had experience with this medication. It is good for slowing down my osteoporosis so that's good.
176838 tn?1211460374 Thanks for all of your wonderful comments. The specialist was surprised that my primary doc didn't do any rheumatology labs. I don't think he did a HLA-B27 test so I'll ask him about that next time. I still haven't made up my mind about the mobic; I have a fear of taking new meds anyway and the fact that I can't take any motrin or excedrin migraine (I use one or the other or *both* almost every day) while on mobic I'm still unsure.
Avatar f tn I take lisinopril myself for HBP and have done so for decades. I've never used naproxen except maybe once or twice. One Rx that might possibly be of benefit for arthritis instead of naproxen is meloxicam, also known as Mobic. I use it occasionally with no ill effects to report.
Avatar m tn Hello and hope you are doing well. The inactive ingredients in Meloxicam (MOBIC) tablets include colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, and sodium citrate dihydrate. So, the sodium content should be in very minute quantities. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
