Yes you can take Mobic with a narcotic pain med. Mobic is a NSAID, and has the same risks as other NSAIDS. In high doses it can cause some kidney issues, the vicodin has tylenol in it and can cause some liver issues in high doses. But they are safe to take together. Typically what you want to watch for is multiple NSAIDS, or Multiple meds with tylenol.

I have UCTD and my hands swell at night and now I have a finger that has a catch in it and I have to force it open. It was only in the mornings at first but now it’s all day.

My provider told me I have a little of Osteo arthritis and has prescribed me Mobic for the pain. Now, since like a month ago, I have been feeling like big pulses on my legs, buttock, arms, neck, face, back and stomack at times. It does not last too long but, i do have then through out the whole day. It is somewhat worrying me. Does anyone know why this is happening or what lab test can I get done?

Always remember that we know our bodies best and know that you are not going crazy. I know we look to our Dr's for answers and it gets so frustrating when they either don't make any sense or they don't have any. Being in LimboLand is not easy. Has your IM Dr done any bloodwork to look for an inflammatory process like RA or Lupus? Or done an ESR to check for inflammation? I am glad to hear that Mobic is working for you.

i actually had to be on mobic for a while. its generic name is meloxicam..its a nonsteriodal anti inflammitory. i am no longer taking it, but its good and works well.

After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.

C6/C7 demonstrates mild degenerative disc disease resulting in mild canal stenosis and foriaminal narrowing. I have been completely off Oxys for about a week and never did have really bad withdrawals. But the PAIN in my knee and back is devastating. I can hardly take care of myself it hurts so bad. Simple thinks like showers or getting down stairs are very hard. I don't know what is going to happen at this appointment but I do NOT want to live in this kind of pain.

I work for an Ortho Surgeon who specializes in knee and hip replacements and also sees a lot of patients with severe arthritis, he does use Mobic alot but also uses the Arthrotec. Find a good dr. and get some definitive answers then proceed from there as far as what medications will help you. Keep us posted and welcome to the forum.

There are many, many medications available to treat not only the pain and inflammation, but also slow down and hopefully halt the progression of the disease itself. The frustrating part is finding the right medication or combination of meds for you - no two people respond the same way to the same medications. My "cocktail" is Enbrel and methotrexate, plus an anti-inflammatory called meloxicam (Mobic). These three meds only scratch the surface of what's available. Good luck!

lately I have been feeling so sick of taking all these meds and wondering what it is doing to my liver and body as a whole. feeling weak just not good. My husband tells me i`m going to die if the Doctors don`t stop giving me all the pills he said they don`t care about you. I want to try to get off all of them. What can i do? I am taking Levothyroxin 50 mcg and Mobic for inflamation. My THS ( I think) was 17 the first time I had it checked. I do not know what is is now but as of February it was within the normal range. What exaclty is my swelling and joint pain related to?

If so, why? It sounds as if your symptoms are making your life unmanageable, and all you are given is Mobic, an nsaid with a bad side effect profile, and Neurontin? For MS, nsaids rarely work, except to help with pain caused only secondarily. For instance, if you favor one leg, the other may get overworked, with sore muscles or worse symptoms, but there's nothing really happening with it that helping the ailing leg wouldn't fix.

I am really trying to see if my sister's condition has anything to do with her being given this shot. Last time she was given it was April 2013, she is currently in the hospital fighting for her life!! So with all the warnings about if you have a liver disease you shouldn't be taking this shot and the doctors are advising her liver isn't functioning and for it to be as far gone as it is, if she had come to hospital a year ago they wouldn't have been able to do anything!!

I was going thru a bottle of vodka every 2 to 3 days. I started having discomfort in the liver area with nausea fatigue and dry mouth. Had an lft done all normal. Still felt sick and went to the hospital lft normal except elevated bilirubin ultrasound normal. Had another lft couple of weeks after bilrubin down to 1.3. And another normal ultrasound. I still deal with right quadrant pain fatigue and nausea.

My daughter has been diagnosed with liver disease. She had hep c but that is now under control. She has developed varies in the aesophagus and these are banded every three months. She now has frequent nose bleeds and would like to know the significance of this. She had a drug problem and she also continues to drink alcohol in large amounts. Also only patients with cirrhosis of the liver are prone to liver cancer. Liver cancer is a very serious and many times deadly disease. It is one the worse cancers you can have if not caught early. An MRI with contrast is the best test for determining if a growth in the liver is benign or cancer. You should have a MRI perform assuming whoever is doing the testing is experienced in diagnosing liver cancer. Most radiologists are not experts in liver tumors so they can miss cancer.

if you are 57yo you better consider treatment seriously and do all tests, cirrhosis and liver cancer jump to very high percentage after 50yo

If so, are your AST and ALT levels elevated as well?? If your bile flow becomes obstructed, this will damage your liver and your ALT and AST levels will rise. Let us know how things are going.

He suggested to have another chimo embolisation and also take medicine to kill the tumor. He has seen the CT scan and confirmed that Tumor is still primary, they couldn't find any where else. We are very concerned that the first Chimo embolisation didn't help to decrease AFP and if we delay surgery, tumor may spread. What will be the benefit of another chimo. Please help.
