Miscarriage or just a heavy period

Common Questions and Answers about Miscarriage or just a heavy period

miscarriage

Avatar f tn I have felt no pain, and have been spotting only when I whipe, but she told me I would have heavy bleeding like a hevier menstrual period. Is it possible it was just a blood clot and not a miscarriage?
Avatar f tn I normally have 29 day cycles and started bleeding this morning at 46 days. I took a dollar store pregnancy test over a week ago and it had come back negative. I'm not sure if the test was accurate or not. Last night I had sex with my boyfriend again and afterwards got very light cramping, but didn't think much of it. I woke up early this morning with light spotting and cramps. I went back to sleep and then woke up again with heavy bleeding and strong cramps.
Avatar f tn It could be anything from a miscarriage to just an off-cycle. The only way to know if it was a MC is to have confirmed you were pregnant.
Avatar f tn pls any advice my last period has had me worried i normally use a super tampon and have to change every 4-6 hrs but this last period i had to change every 30m.to a hr and went thru 2 boxes of super tampons ,normally i dont even use all of 1 box ??
Avatar f tn It said that someone bleed for the first 3 months like a normal period and she was pregnant with twins. So out of curiosity im bleeding really light to spotting for a week now n my periods are normally heavy. Could this mean im pregnant? Cuz I only bled 2 days last month and now a week of light no spotting?
Avatar f tn c done five weeks ago and for last 5 days have had tiny blood. Hardly nothing. Its only once a day on morning. I had another miscarriage 6 months earlier but got period normally after about 36 days. We have been having sex past few weeks no protection so wondering if I had another miscarriage.I'm not in pain no preggo signs either. Should I wait another few days and see if I get period.
Avatar f tn I gave birth 3 months ago and got my first period the second month after birth it lasted 5 days now 2 weeks later I have a heavy period.I have to change pad every 1-2 hours.I also have lower back pain and abdominal pain.Is this normal?
Avatar f tn Sounds like your are having a miscarriage. Same thing happened to me. 3 weeks late got my period, 2 positive test, then I started what I thought was my period. When actually it was a miscarriage. Didn't feel pain until the next day when i passed the embryo which was only a huge blood clot and tissue. That's when I knew it was a miscarriage.
Avatar f tn How far past your period were you? If you were in the early weeks of pregnancy and had a miscarriage, your periods would be just heavier than normal and you wouldn't have an embryo or anything noticable to pass.
Avatar f tn But implantation is usually a very small amount that is a light pinkish or brown colour like old blood. Heavy bleeding or bleeding with clots would suggest your period.
Avatar f tn Hi! The first thing I would do if you were my patient, is a pregnancy test. Urine pregnancy tests are very accurate these days. Either scenario is possible--it could be your period, or a very early miscarriage. The pregnancy test will help you sort it out. Good luck!
Avatar n tn If you were having a miscarriage you would have gotten a positive test recently. Sounds like you're about to have a bad period because you missed 2 of them already. Stress, exercise, drug/alcohol abuse, certain medications, obesity or being underweight--- they can all affect your cycles. I do not think you're having a miscarriage. What you saw was old tissue from your uterus. Definitely make an appointment with an OBGYN once your bleeding has stopped.
3233839 tn?1346535988 I looked up my symptoms on the computer and found out there is a thing called decidual bleeding. I did not have sever cramping or pain like a miscarriage and this lasted a few days. About 3 days. But the first and second day it was heavy then the third day it was like nothing was there and there was little pieces of tissue the first and second day. I have never had tissue or clots in my period before that I have noticed. But this was weird.
Avatar f tn Also, you may be having a spontaneous miscarriage. They are common and usually just feel like a really heavy period. Maybe check with your obgyn if your unsure.
919507 tn?1267591732 I did! at about 4 weeks I had a period with my current pregnancy. It's alright to have one while pregnant but usually they aren't normal. They will be lighter or just some brownish spotting. If you have real heavy bleeding you should call your doctor. Especially if you have clotting. Roke is right, could be a miscarriage if heavy or clotting and it really wouldn't hurt to go see the doctor either way just to be sure.
Avatar m tn m devastated, I grieving the lost of my child and I will never forget this but its to hard to be waiting when I will have a cramp or a back pain or heavy bleeding as a sing that this will end soon.
Avatar n tn I had one and you bleed a lot and I actually passed a small baby so I didn't need a d@c but a lot of people will need one to get the baby out if it's just a lot if blood like a heavy period some people also have what's Called a missed miss carriage and the only way I think you will no then is by a ultrasound or the doctor will see if the baby still has a heart beat sometimes the baby will pass away like that and you may or may not need to get a d@c it depends on how far along you wer
293845 tn?1227997530 There are small blood clots too. I've never had a period this heavy. Any thoughts anyone?
Avatar f tn I would still consider yourself pregnant, it wasnt heavy enough for a miscarriage, even an early miscarriage the bleeding would be as heavy or a little heavier than your period, this to me sounds as if you had a small period like bleed around the time your period was due, due to hormone levels, not high enough to stop a small break through bleed but high enough to keep the pregnancy viable, good luck
Avatar f tn Heavy bleeding with clots, terrible period-like cramps and back ache. Also fever might be a symptom in some cases as well.
Avatar n tn For my first, I had what felt like and seemed like a period for the first 3 months... Just talk to your dr. For some it's normal!
Avatar f tn You could have had a miscarriage or you could be having a heavy period. I once had a really light period and the next one was not very pleasnt for me. I guess my body had not gotten rid of everything. It sounds like heavey periods are not normal for you, so I would suggest calling the doctor and making an appointment. The best way to get rid of your fear is to arm yourself with knowledge. Consult the doctor. Jhanee.
