Hello, I am 29 yo considering OC to help hormonal imbalance (not so much pregnancy prevention). I have cystic acne along my jawline. I have been using spironolactone 50mg daily about a year. Overall, it's improved about 50%, but will worsen during pre-mentraul flare ups. However, my derm is hesitant about increasing my dose and suggested adding on OC.
Any reccomendation on what estrogen/progestin combo to try for acne?
ve been on Mircette (a.k.a Kariva). Before I started Mircette I stopped my pills about 3 days before I was supposed to right before I was to start my cycle. Anyway, long story short, with this pill all I've had are bad gas and gas pains, some cramping but other than that I don't feel like I'm on bcp. Well yesterday I was supposed to have my period but when I thought it was here, I had mucus like cm and then some pinkish brownish discharge with it.
For the past 10 days I have had light brown discharge non-stop, bloating, and bad stomach cramps. I was on Azurette birth control for about a year and then I switched to Mircette(this is my first pack); so I was wondering if the switch could have anything to do with it even though they are basically the same birth control. I am due for my period on Tuesday the 29th. I am very confused as to why this is happening so I'm wondering if you have any ideas or explanations!
I take Loestrin continuously and have no periods at all. It's made all the difference. I don't have any side effects. Everyone is different though.
I recently started taking Loestrin 24. I started experiencing light bleeding during sex which lasts for a day or 2 then stops, but then occurs again the next time. It only happens during/after sex. I've never had this happen before. There was nothing abnormal when I had my check up and was given the prescription. Has anyone ever heard of this happening with this brand?
Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Hello, I'm in my inactive week of my third month of birth control and I will be starting my fourth month. I started with lo loestrin fe and was switched to gildess fe 1/20. I haven't had my period in about a month. I've read in forums that it's common and I shouldn't be nervous but I am! about a week ago I had a tiny bit of blood when I wiped and then the next day the same thing, but that's it. Should I be nervous? Please please help!!!
Hi, i have been on lo loestrin fe for 1 month. Today i am taking second brown pill, which is also the last one...i feel menstrual pain for a few days, but no menstruation. I am worried! Is pregnancy possible if i had intercourse with my bf (while i was on the pill) but he had never ejaculated inside? It is written that lo loestrin fe is protecting you from the first day if u are starting on the first day of your period. Thats how i did. But why is my period not coming?

I've not had any problems with Yaz or Loestrin 24. I'm on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem.
I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.
I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly?

Help - has anyone had a rash with Loestrin - I have been itching and have rash on stomache chest and back. I also experienced terrible depression that put me in a zombie state. I only used this drug for one week and my doctor took me off. Did anyone experience these symptoms???
I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again.
I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.
per bloodwork, I am only in perimenopause and am on day 5 of Lo Loestrin. Has anyone had success feeling better on this bcp and did it take a couple of cycles to really notice. I get these periodic heart palps and adrenaline rushes throughout the day. I'm still taking flaxseed oil and evening primrose to help control, but am really hoping the Lo Loestrin makes a difference. Has anyone done well taking bcp for their peri symptoms?
I've been on my bc (loestrin fe) for about 7 months now. I've never missed a pill but occasionally take it at a different time. Between 7:10 and 7:30. I know that that's alright but I go on and off with periods. Sometimes it starts with the white pills and sometimes the red and sometimes not at all. I also have bleeding during my second week for about 3 days. Is this normal? Could I be pregnant? Should I be worried?

I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?
I am now on Microgestin 1/20 Fe generic version of Loestrin. Anyway what does anyone know about this? Any major side effects I should be worried about...I was reading that it causes bigger breast, weight gain, and low sex drive...is that true for anyone else who has taken it?
She gave me a prescription for Loestrin and said I could start and stop taking it any time. However, I forgot to ask her about when the best time to start on them is!
See, the reason why I'm not on any hormonal birth control is because they usually make me very bloated and moody. However, I'm willing to deal with that sort of thing if it's a very short term - maybe one week or so at the most.
