I am breakthrough bleeding during week 2 of birth control pills. Should I stop this pack and if yes, when do I start the new pack?

For the first 3 months I had thrush exactly a week before I was due on every month as well as breakthrough bleeding. That went by the 4th month but the breakthrough bleeding still happened. It started slowly going so I thought finally I was getting somewhere but its suddenly increased again. The doctors are now putting me on a new pill called Gedarel which contains 30 mg ethinylestradiol and 150mg desogestrel.

Tony is correct, if you are in fact breastfeeding you should discuss with your OB/GYN a progestin only pill ( a good example would be NORA-BE TABLET) . If not here are some low dose pills to consider.
s something call breakthrough bleeding, that usually happens in the 1st trimester. Got an u/s and my baby/me is okay. But still see your Dr to be safe, and get that security.
ve been told that its 1mg of norethindrone is still pretty androgenic especially for those who already have an imbalance. Would Mircette be an option with desogestrel being less angrogenic? Also, any experience with prescribed HALF tab of OC? (ie. instead of Loestrin 1/20.. use 0.5/10 for hormonal imbalance?) Just concerned about initial breakout.

ve been on Mircette (a.k.a Kariva). Before I started Mircette I stopped my pills about 3 days before I was supposed to right before I was to start my cycle. Anyway, long story short, with this pill all I've had are bad gas and gas pains, some cramping but other than that I don't feel like I'm on bcp. Well yesterday I was supposed to have my period but when I thought it was here, I had mucus like cm and then some pinkish brownish discharge with it.
I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly?

For the past 10 days I have had light brown discharge non-stop, bloating, and bad stomach cramps. I was on Azurette birth control for about a year and then I switched to Mircette(this is my first pack); so I was wondering if the switch could have anything to do with it even though they are basically the same birth control. I am due for my period on Tuesday the 29th. I am very confused as to why this is happening so I'm wondering if you have any ideas or explanations!
At 4 weeks it's possible it's breakthrough bleeding from your period. I bled for a few days at exactly 4 weeks with both of my pregnancies because of breakthrough bleeding, but it was fine. The only time spotting turned out to mean I had a problem was when I spotted at 11 weeks.
I’ve taken 4 pills since the mishap and yesterday started experiencing breakthrough bleeding and agonising cramps!! Is this a ‘period’? Should I continue with the rest of the packet and have my 7 day break at the end like normal? I had sex on the Tues+Thurs after the missed pills, what are the chances I could fall pregnant from that?

Breakthrough bleeding is one of the top most common side effects of being on the pill. And also being on the pill will change the appearance, timing, and length of your period. Nothing in your post is any cause for concern. But if the breakthrough bleeding continues then you may have to switch to a different pill. Which is also not a big deal and a common thing to happen.
Hi, are you on birth control? I was on Mircette to regulate my cycle and because it wasn't "strong enough" I spotted mid cycle. I also spotted on the Depo shot so it could be birth control. You are not pregnant from giving a hand job.. unless you took the semen and inserted it into your vagina which I doubt you did. If you did have sex and just don't want to say.. then you could be pregnant and the spotting could be implantation bleeding.
Hi! I just started Minastrin about three weeks ago. I was off of birth control for several months and the doctor at the women's clinic I visited suggested this birth control. Since it has been so long, I did miss a pill in the second week, but as soon as I noticed I took it. I don't know if that's the cause of bleeding, but for the last five days I've had some significant "breakthrough" bleeding.
I am experiencing breakthrough bleeding on ortho tri cyclen, between days 11 and 14 in my BC pack. The doctor syas it happens and it is only annoying but I really would like to not have to endure three or four days of breakthrough bleeding or spotting every month. It is messy and not very pleasant during inter course. What other pill combination would lessen this? I am open to a type and dose that will stop this.
I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.)
But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.
Hey ladies, Yesterday I experience some vaginal bleeding that wasn't heavy, but lasted for a split second. Now it's like when I wipe I see a spot, but nothing heavy. if your on the pill for two weeks than stop, how much will that mess up your hormones? if you have breakthrough bleeding or withdrawl bleeding when would you become fertile again?

I am thinking maybe it is because this brand I just got is generic Seasonique (Jolessa). Should I try to get brand name or should I double up on the dosage so I have the hormones in my system?
I started experiencing breakthrough bleeding this week. I am long distance from my boyfriend and am going to be with him starting on Tuesday next week. I was told if I take a 3 day break from my birth control and start a new pack then that could help my breakthrough bleeding stop. Is this true? It sounds like breakthrough bleeding which is the most common side effect of being on the pill. Sooner or later it happens to everyone on the pill. It's not dangerous or anything it's just very annoying. If it keeps happening for more than a few months you may need to see your gyne to get put on a higher dose pill because it's the lower dose pills that cause the most problems with breakthrough bleeding.
