Avatar m tn You may also want to look into a therapist and/or support group. You are going through a lot and your mind is no doubt overwhelmed. Hope this helps!
462570 tn?1273632977 If I go a week without the medication , I am back to a 10+ pain level and in bed screaming from the pain. I have a support group and have mentioned it to others with the same disease and about 20 have started it and feeling some kind of relief from this pain. Many doctors keep patients on to low of a dose to do anything for the pain but helps Restless Leg. I am on what you would prescribe someone with Parkinson's Disease, no I don't have it.
Avatar f tn Hi all. I was wondering if there is any support group for ppl with incidently found thyroid nodules. This diagnosis creates a lot of anxiety and I am lookking for support. Looks like internet serves you with only horror stories. Thanks!
5952632 tn?1377267069 Our hope is to bring everyone together in the area who are fighting this not only online, but to organize monthly gatherings where we can meet and talk in person and form a true in person support group. Let me know if you are in the Acadiana area and are interested!
749148 tn?1302860959 hands... she prescribed Mirapex. I have not started it yet and wondered if anyone out there is using this medication and what your thoughts are. She recommended a TENS unit for the rib pain I guess it's caused from a miss-firing message between my spinal cord and my brain, even though no lesions showed on my thoracic MRI doesn't mean they are not there...hummmm.
487070 tn?1313665952 According to my Nuerologist studies have shown that it can happen during the day as well but they group into one PLMD. Before medication I would get short bursts of twitching (arms, upper leg area, with a strong sensation it felt like my stomach muscles were involved too) that felt like electrical shocks each time I had them. Sometimes near 100 a day? (well, let's just say a whole LOT lol) Dozens at least. It lasted only a secong but it hurt!
539156 tn?1281818356 I have had RLS for years and in the last few months it has gotten much worse. I take Mirapex, which has worked really well, but now I guess I need more of it because it really flares up every evening (all over my body) before it is time to take my meds. I feel like I am falling apart! Numb hands and feet...apnea....RLS...blurry left eye....FATIGUE.....Sorry, I think I am having a pity party. Thanks to all for being there!
410281 tn?1254229064 PLMD, RLS and apnea. My neuro put me on mirapex immediately upon seeing the results. I actually feel like myself again. I had no idea that I was sleeping so poorly, especially after hearing about so much fatigue from my friends here. I can wake up and actually be awake!! I still shake, twitch, jerk and am quite tingly. But sleeping well sure makes it all more manageable... So for those of you with sleep disorders, or that think you might, ASK about Mirapex!
Avatar n tn I saw someone recently presented the idea to start a smoking support group for pregnant moms who are having a hard time kicking the habit. I think that's a good idea. I am 21 weeks and smoke one cigarette a day to one every to or three. it's getting a little easier but when I gt upset it's still my go too. I used to smoke a pack every two days before I found out I was pregnanat at 4 weeks so considering that I think im doing well.
401095 tn?1351391770 I forgot to mention that I was trying to start a chronic pain support group here in my city...does anyone have any info on this type of thing? or do you have one in your area? the organization is called American Chronic Pain Association and they sent me some info on getting the group started and now I need to find a room to hold the meetings at..
Avatar f tn I thank you ladies , if it wasn't for this site I would feel so alone & depressed. So much going on in my life & I feel like you guys are my support group. Even though we may not know each other personally, I love that we all are here to help one another, rather than insult & bash each other. SO, thank u all.
1390101 tn?1281000559 Wow Kraz - I am sorry that you have had to deal with the problem from Mirapex. I too have RLS and have been on Mirapex for about 2 years, but fortunately have not had a problem with gambling. I am an addict, but have been doing good with that too. Interesting though, your post made me think, there are other things that if I really look at it, I probably do in excess - and have been doing more since on Mirapex. Wonder if there is a connection there.
471113 tn?1245108820 Ask your doctor if there is a support group in your area. Some people on the board organize lunches and other get togethers. There are a number of people on the board that live in California, so perhaps you can meet one of them.
1154672 tn?1262222616 I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.
1200450 tn?1317496867 The doctor put me on mirapex. She told me it would make me very sleepy and help to control the jerking and twitching at night to allow me to get better sleep. I spent most of my sleep time in phase 2 sleep with very little time in REM. My question is about the mirapex. Have any of you ever had issues falling asleep while on the mirapex? I find that once I do get to sleep it helps me stay asleep better.
Avatar m tn I think the one you are thinking about is called Hylands and it is a supplement.
Avatar n tn t know about the Monavie but what I take and is wonderful is Mirapex. I take it 3 times a day and have no restless legs unless I skip a dose or run out and then the RLS returns. I hope this has helped.
410281 tn?1254229064 I had been having a lot of unexplained symptoms such as tremor, muscle twitching and jerking, tingling in my extremeties and severe eye pain and facial numbness. Migraine was ruled out. Since I started on the mirapex most of my symptoms have either gone away completely or greatly diminished. Could they have been simply caused by the sleep deprivation? Thanks for your time.
Avatar n tn I'm on .25mg of Mirapex for RLS and am gaining weight. Has anyone else experienced this. Any idea as to why. Suggestions? Thanks!
398059 tn?1447945633 Because of the Mirapex and Gabapentin I can sleep at all. I still get uncomfortable though. It is pain really, except in my left arm anyway. But, the uncomfortablnes and pain in left arm is toerable. I just need more sleep than i am getting.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your feedback. We would also love it if doctors would give out MedHelp's URL to their patients to help track symptoms. Then their patients could just click Email This on their trackers and send it to their doctors for review. We could easily add Restless Legs as a symptom and Mirapex as a treatment to the Sleep Tracker. Would that work for you?
