mirapex

1154672 tn?1262222616 50 tablet for 4 days @ bedtime, finally then 2 tablets 1 mg after that. I am concerened that since I have been taking 1 mg of Mirapex, that the dose of Requip won't be enough.
410281 tn?1254229064 I had been having a lot of unexplained symptoms such as tremor, muscle twitching and jerking, tingling in my extremeties and severe eye pain and facial numbness. Migraine was ruled out. Since I started on the mirapex most of my symptoms have either gone away completely or greatly diminished. Could they have been simply caused by the sleep deprivation? Thanks for your time.
410281 tn?1254229064 PLMD, RLS and apnea. My neuro put me on mirapex immediately upon seeing the results. I actually feel like myself again. I had no idea that I was sleeping so poorly, especially after hearing about so much fatigue from my friends here. I can wake up and actually be awake!! I still shake, twitch, jerk and am quite tingly. But sleeping well sure makes it all more manageable... So for those of you with sleep disorders, or that think you might, ASK about Mirapex!
487070 tn?1313665952 Secondly, I have been put on Pramoxile (sp?) Mirapex for it. Started at 1/8 mg and increased over time to now 1 mg. I hate the side effects but it seems to be working for the most part. I understand it is mainly used for Parkinson's diasease and sometimes RLS. Does anyone take this for their RLS? If so how much? Supossedly it helps increase Dopmine levels which PLMD and Parkinson disorders have in common.I'm not sure if RLS is caused by low Dopamine or not. I feel like YUCK.
Avatar n tn I have RLS and take Mirapex, .25mg about an hour before bed. It has worked great for me. I tried the Gabapentin and got up to 1200 mg - which was also taken before bed, but it did nothing for me. I have been told that Mirapex works much better than Ropinerol - you may want to talk to your doc about Mirapex as an option - it just went generic.
749148 tn?1302860959 hands... she prescribed Mirapex. I have not started it yet and wondered if anyone out there is using this medication and what your thoughts are. She recommended a TENS unit for the rib pain I guess it's caused from a miss-firing message between my spinal cord and my brain, even though no lesions showed on my thoracic MRI doesn't mean they are not there...hummmm.
Avatar n tn I am on 600 mg. of Neurontin 5xday (N), 1 mg. Mirapex 5xday (N), .5 mg. of Clonazepam 4xday (GP), 350 mg. of Soma (N), 65mg Darvon 3xday (N), Nexium (GP), Lasix (GP), K-dur (GP), lipitor (GP), lamictal (GP), wellbutrin (GP), naproxen (GP), and Nuvigil (S), and I think that's it. I see my neurologist on Tuesday. What do others do who have coexisting problems and a myriad of prescriptions all working with or against each other?
Avatar f tn Thanks for the definition -- I now understand that my daughter is probably correct in saying that I'm depressed. I have such a lack of motivation or energy to even complete everyday tasks. This has made my daily life miserable. You mentioned medications in your post -- any suggestions? I know medications work differently on individuals but I'm currently taking Adderall XR 60mg, Mirapex and Clonazepam when needed.
1428639 tn?1283043789 I was at 15 mg, then decided to do a one a day dose down, so it took 15 days. It has been 7 days, and while I feel better overall, this restlessness will not go away. I literally am going insane. I dont have anyone who can understand me. I have Mirapex starter kit I received from my Doctor a while ago, due to RLS , but didnt feel I needed it then, I do now...... I guess I just need to know if this is normal for getting off of methadone, and if so, after a week, shouldnt it be gone, not worse?
1390101 tn?1281000559 Wow Kraz - I am sorry that you have had to deal with the problem from Mirapex. I too have RLS and have been on Mirapex for about 2 years, but fortunately have not had a problem with gambling. I am an addict, but have been doing good with that too. Interesting though, your post made me think, there are other things that if I really look at it, I probably do in excess - and have been doing more since on Mirapex. Wonder if there is a connection there.
1200450 tn?1317496867 The doctor put me on mirapex. She told me it would make me very sleepy and help to control the jerking and twitching at night to allow me to get better sleep. I spent most of my sleep time in phase 2 sleep with very little time in REM. My question is about the mirapex. Have any of you ever had issues falling asleep while on the mirapex? I find that once I do get to sleep it helps me stay asleep better.
Avatar m tn I think the one you are thinking about is called Hylands and it is a supplement.
Avatar n tn I have never tried requip but my doctor has me on Mirapex which works wonders for me. I have also be told that there is an otc called hylands restful leg that works well too. eating bananas and hot baths before bed, helps alot too also stretching exercises, I lay on my stomach and hold on to my ankle and gentle pull back(towards buttocks) just until I feel the tightness, if you do this ever evening just before you go to sleep it helps.
Avatar n tn t know about the Monavie but what I take and is wonderful is Mirapex. I take it 3 times a day and have no restless legs unless I skip a dose or run out and then the RLS returns. I hope this has helped.
Avatar f tn I HAVE RLS FOR MANY YEARS AND I AM ON 3MG REQUIP AND 1 MG KLONPIN, THAT HAS BEEN HELPING UP TO NOW. I DISCOVERED THAT MY THYROID IS VERY LOW. COULD THAT BE WHY MY RLS IS GETTING WORSE. I REALLY NEED SOME SLEEP!!! WHAT OTHER MEDS ARE HELPFUL. I REALLY HAVE ALOT OF PAIN IN MY LEGS ALSO. THANKS FOR AMY HELP.
Avatar n tn I'm on .25mg of Mirapex for RLS and am gaining weight. Has anyone else experienced this. Any idea as to why. Suggestions? Thanks!
398059 tn?1447945633 Because of the Mirapex and Gabapentin I can sleep at all. I still get uncomfortable though. It is pain really, except in my left arm anyway. But, the uncomfortablnes and pain in left arm is toerable. I just need more sleep than i am getting.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your feedback. We would also love it if doctors would give out MedHelp's URL to their patients to help track symptoms. Then their patients could just click Email This on their trackers and send it to their doctors for review. We could easily add Restless Legs as a symptom and Mirapex as a treatment to the Sleep Tracker. Would that work for you?
515698 tn?1211489523 So after a few days I came up with a cocktail of 800 mg Neurontin , 2 Norco and 1 mg of Tizanidine. Slept all night with out a problem. If I changed 1 thing it was back to square one. MCBCON have you been DX yet? I am so glad you found a good mix for you. It feels great to have something go right . Blessings and Hug's to you !! sllowe have you been DX yet ? Thank you for your advise. I have also started a diary of my SX .
Avatar f tn I loose a lot of sleep. I get in day and night. My arms even jerk and have that restless feeling. Mirapex is taken twice a day and don't help. No drs will address it and I'm miserable . Is this a lack of a vitamin or mineral. Do I ever get rid of them?
Avatar f tn From the many times I have went thru wds I know this is the last thing u wanna hear but I have found nothing that helps wih rls I have even tried mirapex which is made for rls and it did not help a lick some ppm say hymena rls helps but it didn't me but u coul try it they sell it at walmart it's OTC and not expensive but I think nothing works because the cause of the rls when in withdrawals is not what causes people who actually have rls so the Mesa don't help but I am no doc and don
Avatar n tn Hi - my neurologist has recently put me on 2400 mg of Gabapentin per day for severe RLS, along with the .5 mg Mirapex and .5 mg Clonazepam I am already on. I also had a double bypass about 1 1/2 years ago and am on a lot of different heart meds. For the past two days I have been experiencing numbness in my left arm and hand. I called my pharmiscist just now and he says it is a side effect to the Gabapentin but I should get use to it in a few days. I worry because it is my left arm.
Avatar m tn m still in major pain. I have klonopin and am taking a steady diet of those. Also taking mirapex to counteract the RLS, but that only works occasionally. At this point I just hope no one calls me back telling me they have some. Not sure I'd be able to say now with the utter pain I feel.
Avatar f tn But waht i wanted to comment was something i read here from a poster about some meds for RLS... mirapex and requip... it seems they increase the dopamine levels with some side effects not to get overlooked by someone with addiction issues... The poster shared her experience with mirapex of getting addicted to gambling. It can happen. She even left a link of a documental made in Canada about this terrible effect of mirapex.
462570 tn?1273632977 He uses Mirapex to block or work with the Dopamine transmitters. His name is Dr. Wood out of Renton Washington. You might look for the publication on pubnet. It might answer your question fully.
