mirapex medication

According to my Nuerologist studies have shown that it can happen during the day as well but they group into one PLMD. Before medication I would get short bursts of twitching (arms, upper leg area, with a strong sensation it felt like my stomach muscles were involved too) that felt like electrical shocks each time I had them. Sometimes near 100 a day? (well, let's just say a whole LOT lol) Dozens at least. It lasted only a secong but it hurt!

hands... she prescribed Mirapex. I have not started it yet and wondered if anyone out there is using this medication and what your thoughts are. She recommended a TENS unit for the rib pain I guess it's caused from a miss-firing message between my spinal cord and my brain, even though no lesions showed on my thoracic MRI doesn't mean they are not there...hummmm.

I'm on .25mg of Mirapex for RLS and am gaining weight. Has anyone else experienced this. Any idea as to why. Suggestions? Thanks!

t know about the Monavie but what I take and is wonderful is Mirapex. I take it 3 times a day and have no restless legs unless I skip a dose or run out and then the RLS returns. I hope this has helped.

PLMD, RLS and apnea. My neuro put me on mirapex immediately upon seeing the results. I actually feel like myself again. I had no idea that I was sleeping so poorly, especially after hearing about so much fatigue from my friends here. I can wake up and actually be awake!! I still shake, twitch, jerk and am quite tingly. But sleeping well sure makes it all more manageable... So for those of you with sleep disorders, or that think you might, ASK about Mirapex!

Because of the Mirapex and Gabapentin I can sleep at all. I still get uncomfortable though. It is pain really, except in my left arm anyway. But, the uncomfortablnes and pain in left arm is toerable. I just need more sleep than i am getting.

The doctor put me on mirapex. She told me it would make me very sleepy and help to control the jerking and twitching at night to allow me to get better sleep. I spent most of my sleep time in phase 2 sleep with very little time in REM. My question is about the mirapex. Have any of you ever had issues falling asleep while on the mirapex? I find that once I do get to sleep it helps me stay asleep better.

Wow Kraz - I am sorry that you have had to deal with the problem from Mirapex. I too have RLS and have been on Mirapex for about 2 years, but fortunately have not had a problem with gambling. I am an addict, but have been doing good with that too. Interesting though, your post made me think, there are other things that if I really look at it, I probably do in excess - and have been doing more since on Mirapex. Wonder if there is a connection there.

Thanks for the definition -- I now understand that my daughter is probably correct in saying that I'm depressed. I have such a lack of motivation or energy to even complete everyday tasks. This has made my daily life miserable. You mentioned medications in your post -- any suggestions? I know medications work differently on individuals but I'm currently taking Adderall XR 60mg, Mirapex and Clonazepam when needed.

My question is once I have stopped taking these horrible pills, what do I do about my restless legs as it makes me feel like ripping my limbs off. Iv tried all the medication for it but nothing helps.

I recently started taking Mirapex ER for possible PD and my tongue is numb and feels swollen. However, it does not appear swollen. I have had some numbness in my tongue in the past although it did not last for several days. My symptoms become more apparent about an hour after taking medication. I looked at the side effects and this is not one of them. Is it possible to have an allergic reaction to this medication?

I have severe Restless leg Syndrome. I have been on Mirapex for about 6 years now, and never had a problem. I am unemployed now, and do not have any health insurance. My doctor has been great to give me samples, however; they are out of them right now. My doctor tried giving me clonazepam 1 mg 2 nights ago, I walked the floors and tossed and turned all night. I called my doctor, and she said to increase my clonazepam to 2mg before bed.

I had been having a lot of unexplained symptoms such as tremor, muscle twitching and jerking, tingling in my extremeties and severe eye pain and facial numbness. Migraine was ruled out. Since I started on the mirapex most of my symptoms have either gone away completely or greatly diminished. Could they have been simply caused by the sleep deprivation? Thanks for your time.

Then their patients could just click Email This on their trackers and send it to their doctors for review. We could easily add Restless Legs as a symptom and Mirapex as a treatment to the Sleep Tracker. Would that work for you?

I was told by my Neurologist that RLS is very common among those with MS. But she also told me that it is also very common in the general population. I have had RLS and Restless Arms also, for many years. I have tried all kinds of medications, but if it is going to act up, it acts up, no matter what I take to try to prevent it. The past two nights were especially bothersome episodes.

I loose a lot of sleep. I get in day and night. My arms even jerk and have that restless feeling. Mirapex is taken twice a day and don't help. No drs will address it and I'm miserable . Is this a lack of a vitamin or mineral. Do I ever get rid of them?

It's about two years since I stopped taking Zoloft. I tapered off the medication and immediately afterwards began experiencing super-sensitive allergic reactions to the environment. This was not a withdrawal symptom - I experienced the normal withdrawal symptoms during the tapering phase, and they all stopped once I had completely stopped taking the medication. However, in the two years since, the acuity of my allergies has increased at least threefold, if not more.

I cut down form 15 10mg pxycodone a day to 5 10mg oxycodone a day in just 3 days. I also got a script for mirapex a rsstless leg medication and trazadone to help sleep from my doctor.

I have RLS and take Mirapex, .25mg about an hour before bed. It has worked great for me. I tried the Gabapentin and got up to 1200 mg - which was also taken before bed, but it did nothing for me. I have been told that Mirapex works much better than Ropinerol - you may want to talk to your doc about Mirapex as an option - it just went generic.

My question is....Has anyoine had experience with medication perscribed to help with hydrocodone withdrawals? if so what are they and what do they do??

I meant to add that the neuro should increase your pain meds like Darvon to a higher dosage or stronger medicine, becuz RLS is controlled by that better than the Mirapex. Also the Mirapex does have "rebound" effect, where after a while, the drug loses its effectiveness and RLS will come back with a vengeance (like at night when you don't know it), so your Neuro should know what to do with the Mirapex when that happens.
