Avatar n tn I have contacted a couple of doctors and they said that this was temporary and the pain should subside relatively soon (within a week). But, the symptoms are progressing and sensitivity/pain is actually moving up from the injection site. I am weak and also suffering from constipation and difficulty in urinating. Everyone keeps telling me this is normal due to an increased volume at the injection site which is causing inflammation around the nerve.
Avatar n tn Hello Dear, Your symptoms resemble those of migraine. Symptoms of a migraine may include sensitivity to light and sound, nausea, auras (loss of vision in one eye or tunnel vision), difficulty of speech and intense pain predominating on one side of the head You can also try for sumatriptan in combination with NSAID like naproxen.
Avatar m tn Glad you've got a nice ,big family. Have you ever heard of post vasectomy pain syndrome? It's a thing that CAN happen. It's actually pretty common. Heat and cold therapy can help and I'd try an NSaid to see if inflammation could be less which may be part of the issue of your sensitivity and pain. Here's an article that looks at other treatment options. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.
924711 tn?1290266557 I am currently taking celebrex for arthritis, but it is a NSAID and I read we should not take them. I was diagnosed with Fibro but was afraid to take cymbalta. IS there anyone here who takes cymbalta without any problems? I am Genotype 1A with stage 2 fibrosis. Any feedback?
Avatar m tn X-ray revealed nothing, and I have been through chiropractic and physical therapy with marginal relief at best ( ~ 24 hours.) medications used include metaxalone, valium and ibuprofen. stiffness has remained constant, w/ a reduced ROM when flexing my neck laterally. I also occasionally experience shooting pain up the left side of my neck when i rotate my head in that direction. Neck remains inflamed and "cracks" often.
Avatar m tn Had PRK to correct this and the acuity is good, other than the distortion and light sensitivity from the edema. My OS foveal thickness is 270 and my OD is around 382. Is the xibrom and durezol harsh on the surface of the cornea like the acular???
Avatar n tn Ice and an nSaid are about all you can do.
Avatar f tn I have been taking 6 Aleves at a time, sometimes 4 to 5 times a day for migrains due to chronic high blood pressure and stress. I used to just take one or 2, but it wasn't helping at all, so gradually I increased the amount I take, until now I take up to 36 to 40 Aleves a day. I've been doing this for about 6 months now. Now I get terrible stomach cramps and I'm constantly going to the bathroom to move my bowels, which are soft.
1840891 tn?1431547793 _______________ However since you have Cirrhosis and you are using a topical NSAID then maybe you can work backward to determine the extent the same process happens with topical application as it would oral application. I mentioned topical Ibuprofen so perhaps you could start out reading about the disposition of (oral) ibuprofen in patients with liver cirrhosis. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/8403739 and ask your Hepa the extent this would happen (if at all) topically.
Avatar m tn s and A-Fib. I am not a medical person, but unlike the previous comment, I can spell definite and Aleve. In my case, despite a strong healthy heart according to nuclear stress tests and echo cardiograms, I began having episodes of atrial fibrillation nine months ago at the age of 66. At the time I was taking Advil for some minor joint pain and the A-Fib started.
1328595 tn?1283018449 Yup, I'm taking it with food and water. I'm taking the Naprosyn for a pretty specific reason but I could possibly ask my doc for another option.
Avatar f tn My boyfriend has been having jaw pain for almost a year now, and it is now causing tooth sensitivity, and neck pain which is also causing facial numbness. He's seen 2 dentists, a physician and 2 chiropractors and all anyone has done is prescribed valium and prescription-strength ibuprofin, as well as a custom-fitted nightguard.

Avatar f tn Hi all, About 2 months ago I started having shoulder and arm pain. Hurt from shoulder down to wrist. Now it's extending into neck. I don't have insurance till Sept. when Medicare kicks in. I did pay to go to doc's and he said bursitis and gave me etodolac (an NSAID). Well, have taken for a few days and it's doing nothing. My Advil PM works better. I think it might be an impingement problem. does any 1 have any suggestions until my insurance kicks in.
Avatar m tn Migraine ca also be due to sensitivity to heat, exertion and some trigerring factors in the diet .You can take some NSAID for pain relief and if still the ain persists you should consult a neuro physician.
Avatar f tn Primary headaches include migraine, tension-type, and cluster headaches.Going by your symptom of sensitivity to light, migraine is an important possibility. Apply alternate warm and cold compresses, elevate the head while sleeping and take some over the counter NSAID analgesic(pain reliever) like ibuprofen(advil/motrin) or acetaminophen.Application of muscle relaxant to the part is also helpful. If the symptoms persist, then pls consult a physician. Hope it helps.
Avatar f tn Scleritis is a very serious condition, and often requires oral anti-inflammatory treatment such as immune suppressants. Right now you are on topical steroids and ? an NSAID orally. Usually the pain with episcleritis is not severe, and this condition does respond to the treatment you are currently taking. I would recommend a consult with an ophthalmologist specializing in uveitis (inflammatory diseases of the eye), as well as a rheumatologist, if you are found to have scleritis.

Avatar m tn Do consult your doctor. A swab test of the sticky discharge should be done and culture and sensitivity tested to start appropriate treatment. Diabetes should be tested for as this may cause infection to linger. It can also cause weight loss/weight gain. If the mucus like discharge is from anus and you are losing weight, have abdominal pain and high WBC, then it can be inflammatory bowel conditions such as IBS, Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis.
Avatar n tn t get relief from aleve, try another nsaid and see if it is more effective. I never liked aleve, personally. Try another and see if it helps.
Avatar f tn Yes, you can. Are you taking an NSAID?
Avatar f tn The stomach pain and bleeding may all be a result of your NSAID use. You need to see a MD and have it evaluated. The loss of a little blood over time can also make you anemic and tired feeling. Please don't put it off, as it will cost you more down the road.
Avatar f tn Take any non steroidal anti inflammatory drug (NSAID) and see. The only other diagnosis can be severe acidity in which NSAID can cause further problems. Hence please consult a doctor first and then start treatment. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!
Avatar f tn Yes u can take the first two.

Avatar m tn m already a member of the Anxiety and Depression forums. After two months, almost, of tests and seeing various doctors and specialist, I've been diagnosed with Osteo Arthritis in the lower back and right hip. For this I've been prescribed Meloxicam/Mobic for the pain and inflamation. The data sheet that came with the prescription details some pretty nasty potential side effects. I normally don't have too much trouble with meds but this stuff is potent.
Avatar n tn I can understand that, I was not aware of negative affects of Acid prohibitors and Non-Inflammatory or nsaids(Advil), as far as I know the nsaids do reduce the fine mucus lining of the stomach, but the damage comes into play when stomach acid burns the area where the nsaid removes the mucus, and this in turn causes the acid to burn that area, causing an inflamed stomach lining.
975514 tn?1324997938 I have decided to go back on the voltaren. I have had such a hard time with inflammation and an increase in pain since I stopped taking it, and I am inclined to believe now that the floaters appearing in my eye is more of a sad coincidence that just happened to coincide with my **************. I am sure it's just a natural process.
Avatar m tn At age 10 degenerative joint diesease is a strong possibility, and if your dog is not on a Glucosamine and Chondroitin Supplement, than he should be. A NSAID (non steroidal anti inflammatory) may also be necessary if your dog's liver function is normal.
