I have been suffering from chronic ulcerative colitis (UC) over the last twenty years. I’m in control of it and lead almost a normal life. I’m currently on 3 grams of Rafassal (Mesalazine) and 200 mg of Imuran (Azathioprine).
My last colonoscopy revealed multiple areas suspicious of low grade dysplasia (LGD) in sigmoid colon and recotoanal junction. There is also doubt they might be high grade dysplasia (HGD).
My doctor advised that these LGDs be removed.
1 - You think what my STD doctor told me is reasonable?
2 - Would you suggest any HIV testing to me? I think I am ready to move on if you will not tell me that tested is warranted to me.
3 - You think GE was professional by giving me mesalazine after sigmoidoscopy (when I have been told proctitis I knew nothing about causes)? You think proctitis cannot be related to HIV?
4 - Nodes - Can 2 nodes be related to autoimmune proctitis? Should I get further in analysing my nodes?
It is rather general question. I was taking mesalazine , it is an anti-inflammatory drug but has also some immunosuppressive functions. I stopped it 4 months before testing.

A colonoscopy is the best way to assess the bowel and the cause of the bleeding. Mucus increases in an inflammed bowel but it may be that the portion of bowel affected is small relative to its whole length. The large bowel does most of the water-absorbing work while the small bowel does the nutrition-absoprtion. If the large bowel is only partially affected, then diarrhoea is not usually a symptom.
Hi . I am a 20 years old male and was diagnosed with ulcerative colitis 8 month ago. It is proctitis and i'm currently taking 6 tabs and 2 supps of mesalazine daily.. i want to use whey protein or amino acids tab for muscle buliding .. i have asked about it from 6 different doctors and all of them advised me not to use them.. but i realy dont understand why i cant take them.. is it safe to take homemade whey protein ? Why shouldnt i take whey supplement and how can it affect my disease?
I am told that she cannot take any kind of contraception because of the tablets she is taking. which means we can only use condoms, my problom is what if one snaps what can we do fi she cannot take the pill or the morning after pill, or anything. im calling to people out there who can help us if they know if there is anything else we can use to be safe ..........please help me.
I have just experienced severe stress in my life (my dog died) but could this actually effect my body so severely? the blood is bright red. The urgency for diarrhea often results in just gas and almost clear mucus with a bit of red blood. In general I don't feel so great and I thought it was because I am so sad about the dog...
I don't have a family doctor so should I just do a walk in?

Hello. I had unprotected oral sex a week ago from someone I don't know, and 5 days ago a area on the shaft of my penis started burning and looked slightly irritated. Last night I noticed a super small tiny white bump where the irritation was, and naturally tried to pop it (paranoid it's something like herpes).
So for a while I have had mild itching near my groin area and I looked last week and I had red patches that had formed and then a few days later most went away there are about 5 left and they are swollen and have a white cap some are right at the base of a hair I thought it was razor burn at first but now the hair is longer and not ingrown I don't have any idea what it could be bit I'm worried it may be herpes
