I see a new HIV drug is on the market that may stop replication of hsv. How would people obtain this for hsv treatment? It is already fda approved.

I had a sexual encounter and they have put me on truvada and isentress for 4 weeks. It is one week over but I have very bad stomach. I usually have a chronic gastritis due to helyco bacter that I have not managed so far to get rid of. My doctor said I could take Nexium 20 which is my usual medication for this matter but to try no to take it everyday beacaus of interaction with isentress but he is gone on vacation now and I have a really upset stomach and I dont know what to do.

Seems to be on another SCH drug called Narlaprevir, not Boceprevir, in conjuction with an HIV drug which makes it a 4-drug cocktail. I am glad they are pushing on with other PIs and not just staying with the BOC. For everyone's information -- Schering Plough has already merged with Merck -- Nov 5 or 6, I believe. I have concerns that the SCH research will be lost in the shuffle. Seems like Merck has a lot of other bigger things going on. I hope I am wrong about that.

Hello - I understand that oral with a person who is HIV+ is low risk, but would it be a good idea to take PEP anyway? My concern is the side effects of the Isentress and Truvada combination. I have the medication, but if infection is very highly unlikely, I think I shouldn't. Friends are telling me not to worry and doctor says it is up to me (which I know). Opinions?

I haven't heard of anything on behalf of Vertex and telaprevir but I'm sure they're not wasting any time either as many ppl expect telaprevir to be approved first. In August Merck Schering said that they will be filing an NDA in 2011. Vertex has their Ambassador program intact and waiting in the wings to promote tx and whatever else comes down the pipeline.

However, in 2009 I was told that I never did have hepatitis C or ID have antibodies and I don't have any HCV Antibodies.
