Common Questions and Answers about Mental stress treatment

stress

Avatar m tn Stress and anxiety can cause so many symptoms, it would be nearly impossible to list them all, but the ones you've mentioned are very common. To answer your question, yes, stress CAN make you feel unwell every day. And if left untreated, it can cause some very serious mental and health issues, I suggest you see your doctor for a complete physical and discuss therapy to help you learn to deal with stress............
Avatar f tn No with meds and treatment and once doctor gives you a clean bill of health i see no reason one can't issues there dream. See people on a whole just have a wrong perception or should i say place 'stigma' where mental health is involved and to know as i do its just a illness that can be treated just as a disease. But it depends on you if your will to fight this and press forward with your dream if so as becoming a cop. keep strong...

1822306 tn?1330522629 Does everyone have a stress test before starting treatment? I am 56 and in good health, weight, and somewhat athletic. Is a stress test necessary? I am Genotype 2b; I only have to do six months SOC and was hoping to finish treatment before summer.
Avatar m tn what is it when you go crazy with stress, stop thinking completely, incredible mental pain, and my symptoms include bursting out and crying
Avatar f tn A met a lady who was prescribed AD's after tx finished, and have just witnessed another lady who finished 48 weeks tx and felt worse in the two weeks following (she's started to feel slightly better now), so I believe it's common. It could be the chemicals, your immune system kicking back in (there are lots of changes happening in your body), and I believe there is an awareness of depression after tx.
4705307 tn?1447970322 First MJ, my condolences on your loss. All the warning labels for Interferon include the time on treatment 'and' the 6 month period afterward. Depression and mental side effects from this drug can be serious enough in a small percentage of patients that they are generally the first thing listed in the 'black box' warning. Please have Tim seek help for this sooner rather than later, preferably with someone who has experience with this exact issue.
600462 tn?1220457989 My 18 year old grandson, Neil, (white caucasian) has been diagnosed with PTSS and Dysthemia with suicidal attempts by a doctor in a Juvenile Drug and Alcohol treatment center. (He did get his H.S. diploma while he was there) The doctor said that he had bee misdiagnosed by the school system and his illness was caused by the desertion of his mother and father. His mother left him with his daddy and took three other children with her when he was 6 yrs old.
Avatar n tn I have an adult son who has lived with mental issues along with drug abuse. I believe he is a sociopath and now can't distinguish right and wrong. He has not worked in 2 years living off of anyone he can.I don't know how I can help him get on the right and somewhat normal track. He has violent outbursts and then has some remorse. Any suggestions where I can start.
Avatar f tn Both the acupuncture and psychiatric communities have noticed the effectiveness of acupuncture treatment for patients with stress and anxiety. Traditional Chinese medicine does not separate emotional and physical function (Leviton, 1989). But there are relatively few reports about the effects of acupuncture on patients with different disorders.
Avatar f tn Is anyone else pregnant and and suffering from a mental illness. I'm having such a hard time dealing with this, on top of the hormones. I haven't been on meds, and refuse to take any for obvious reasons. How can I take the stress off of the baby?
Avatar f tn I started treatment and my anxiety/stress level really increased- something I have never had an issue with previously. I have read treating thyroid with unresolved/untreated adrenals can cause this problem. I have just started adrenal treatment and slowly starting to feel better. Anyone else out there have any info on this idea???
Avatar f tn I'm new to this community and finished the S/O treatment in May. The side effects that have bothered me (& hubby) the most was the change of my temperament (grouchy & emotional) and mental slowness. I was always fast in the word games I play online and now not so much. I am not as unbearable as I was but I hope my quick thinking returns. Has anyone here experienced one or both of these symptoms? I am a cirrhotic, 1b with no previous brain fog. Please tell me it's temporary!
Avatar f tn Do something that makes you happy. My mental health counselor has told me to find a hobby that doesn't allow me to train myself in my head so I don't over think the situation.
200220 tn?1361951554 I hope I can state this right. I have hashimoto disease. I am on 88 mg of Tirosent. This has been a long term disease. This forum has brought me through and educated me where doctors couldn't help. I am wanting to know if anyone can tell me their symptoms. I was told by my previous endo that she thought I had other problems beside the thyroid. To me that is irrelevant as I need help not suggestions.
Avatar n tn How do I keep my stress in check? We recently started trying and I am having major breakdowns about once a month. I have been hospitalized with a pulmonary embolism and I have very irregular periods so I feel like I have too much going against me. And breath! I have an appointment with a RE in a little over month but need to at least make it to that point without another breakdown.
Avatar f tn Doctors think that my husband has reversible ischemia and I am wondering if he should be driving a school bus until he is diagnosed . Also is mental stress a factor in this and just what is reversible ischemia?

Avatar m tn And also could you please elaborate on your symptoms? Some amount of stress is essential for day to day functioning but if gets out of control it can lead to numerous physical and mental problems. I would suggest to you to please relax and try to make a list of all things that are causing stress in your life. This way you will know how to you can deal with each one of them. Also do some breathing exercises, go for short walks, eat regularly and take a mild tranquiliser at bedtime.
Avatar f tn Hi, As a neurological cause of the brain fog has been ruled out for you, the reason could be a simple one like Nutritional deficiency, Anemia, Hypoglycemia, Hypotension or Stress. It seems you have not gone for the routine investigations. Please consult a physician for the same. Please take adequate rest and exercises, eat a well balanced diet and take good sleep at night. Keep yourself away from stress. It may aggravate the symptoms. Hope this helps you. Take care and regards!
