You dont tell your age, I think this happens a lot to anyone over 40 , I wouldnt say it means you have alzheimers at all, for a start certain meds can cause memory loss, even supplemnts have been known to ,other illness like some autoimmune diseases ,if you are concerned ask your Doctor what he thinks. there is a good website ,free, called lumosity google and you will find it, great mind games and exercises to help with memory .Good luck let us know how you are doing .
i heard that propranolol causes memory loss. if so how wil i cope with creeping old age.
I am on effexor and am experiencing memory loss. I have been on it for years at 225 mg I am a practicing bulimic, recovered alcoholic, ex smoker and exercise regularly. I am 61 and eat right in the morning and day, but the evenings are always shot. my question is does antidepressive medicine cause memory loss?
ve never gotten an after effect. I know I suffered from a memory loss at a young age because I blacked out most of my youth from 8 - 17. Nowadays, which is only 5 years later I can hardly remember what I did last night, what I ate at yesterday's breakfast. In the past few months I've been unemployed and I am not sure if these are common signs of depression but I lost most of my friends, and I rarely leave the house.
i have had no traumatic injuries or anything like that to cause memory loss.. but i do have it. it seems to affect both long and short term. it's become a nuisance to my daily life. i've been trying really hard to find a root cause or condition. i did make an appointment for it.....but i forgot to go :( anyway i've had several times where i've gotten a form to fill out and for the life of me i can't remember how old i am...

i am only 35 and have a child 2 years ago, i have increased memory loss and general unhappiness. Yesterday i turned on the outside water hose and forgot it and flooded the back yard and killed the fish in the pond, i forget appointments all the time and am moody and worried. I am a teacher and wonder if i will even be able to do my job this school year. What kind of doctor should i try to see, what can i do?
About an hour later he suffered a brief episode (1-2 min) of short term memory loss. He could not remember the weekend holiday or do sums. Other than feeling cold he did not exhibit any physical symptoms. He had another episode about three weeks later. A neurologist examined him and found nothing but set up an EEG. He has had no other episodes. Any suggestions as to what to ask during/after the EEG or what the potential cause might be? Thank you.
I have had a underactive thyroid for about 35 years . My memory loss sometimes overwhelms me . In my personal life and work atmosphere I can deal with it .

I want to say . I can't remember a technique to show my students I get embarrassed. Its a different environment for me to be head of the class in a deciplined ,focused atmosphere . Constantly can't remember .

My question really is about memory loss. I am only 24 years and I feel like I am too young to be experiencing this kind of memory loss; I don't know what you want to call it but I just think maybe it's getting worse?
I always had a little hard time remembering things but recently I think it has reached a level now where it is impacting me and my surrondings. Less than a week ago, I lost my iphone, (or so I thought) when going at the post office.
Dealing with her dad leaving the home, living in a womens center and now having a new father figure. Depression also runs in the family. I am wondering if she has some depression, she has memory loss. She cant remember things short term. I have asked her to get me things and then 5 minutes later she cant remember what i asked her.. i know this is one of the symptoms of depression because i have the same problem and i am diagnosed with deppression.
After she stopped taking the pain medication (oxicodine) she has memory loss. At first it was little things, but now she does not know what year it is, how old she is, or that she just had surgery. She does have some memory, like she knows who me and my sister are and what she does for work. Another symptom is that she says her body is soar, like she lifted a bunch of weights.
We are looking for any type of input/advise. Her doctors have been doing every test and scan.
I am a 46 year old male that has been experiencing some memory problems. Most people I know have memory problems so the question is what's normal. I can remember verbatim the last 30 to 50 words spoken on a television show or my locker combination from elementary school. But I can't remember where I set stuff down. I forget that I turned the tea kettle on or put a bag of popcorn in the microwave. I do remember it hits me, when I look for my tea.
Are you taking any meds, have you had a trauma recently anything happen to really upset you,any toxins ingested, all the things I mention can have an effect on short term memory. temporarily, As you are so young it would be good to check it out with your Doctor. Make some notes of how often it happens and what you were doing when it happened. Let us know how you are doing .
I am a 35 year old female with recent short term memory loss, apathy, poor concentration. I repeat myself on a constant basis, am very forgetful to the point my husband and employer has expressed concern. I have completed a MOCA and "passed with flying colors", completed a MRI and CT scan both of which were normal. Sometimes I have a hard time "finding words" Could something have been missed?
