i live in lawton oklahoma. about 45 minutes north of wichita falls. i felt it hardcore here. my bed moved and my couch moved. lol im about an hour and half from where it hit. geeze so u guys felt it pretty good too. haha i really dont wanna experience that again lol... my nerve cant handle all that.

I live in Wichita. There are no chiari specialist near here unfortunately. There is a great neurologist though, his name is Dr. Shabash Shah. Thats who my girls see. As for surgery, the closest actual chiari specialist is in Iowa City, Dr. menezes. He has been recomended to me by many many parents who see him. I have chosen to take my yougest to New York to the chiari institute. They are the best of the best. I see Dr. Oro in Colorado but he doesnt see kids under 14.

Last Monday, 10 days ago, I started feeling a pain in my hamstring. The same pain I experience everytime I have an episode with shingles. I took tylenol 3 for the pain and had started a zpak for a bacterial infection. Tuesday I woke up with a minor shingles rash but both of my calves felt stiff, I thought it was from working out. as the week progressed the pain in my calves worsened to the point that it was hard to walk and began affecting my hamstrings as well..

Outside for a walk in the park is fine at any age however to go to a crowded area like a shopping mall its advised to wait until after the first set of vaccines.

Quixitic, Thanks for reply. Guess I am not alone with this. Yes was diagnosed in 2000. I am a transplant to Wichita but have lived here almost 15 yrs now.

I was committed to Wichita Falls and there was a large adult population. They may have shut it down, but if things get bad that might be an option. If you can go in voluntarily, they'll get you on medication and discharge you as fast as they can. They were only picky when it was an involuntary commitment. I know it sounds bad, but the illness isn't a walk in the park either. I hope you find some assistance. Good luck!

So I'm 15 and today I went to a theme park with my friends and we had a great time! That was until a second ride on the swinging ship finally got to me and I started to feel dizzie. I sat down for awhile and continued the day with about 4 more roller coasters till I just couldn't handle this headache and nausea I had, at one point I tried to go puke to feel better but nothing came out (I had only eaten a yogurt and some French fries and plenty of water).

I have taken the steps to see an internal medicine doc. Just waiting for my Project Access folks to tell me who it's gonna be. I am still a little weepy from time to time, but for the most part I am optimistic. My MD is wonderful, and is glad I am letting him off the hook. A friend of mine here in Wichita KS went thru KU med and had awesome results, so you awesome folks say a little prayer for me! I will keep you all posted and check in daily. It is great knowing you are all here.

I can only repeat what others have said use handrails (or a friendly arm) and take your time otherwise the falls could do some major damage!

I live near Breckenridge. I am an hour from Abilene, 1 1/2 to 2 hours from Dallas/Ft. Worth, 1 1/2 hr from Wichita Falls. I can go to Brownwood, Austin... I am desperate and just want a good doctor that will take care of us. If anyone can help me, I would really appreciate it.

I went to my doctor who put me on medication for high blood pressure and seizures neither of them stopped my headaches from coming. I found Excedrin tension headache medicine that would dull the pain but not get rid of it entirely. My doctor sent me to get an MRI but nothing was abnormal. After going to an amusement park my head felt like it was going to explode. After that my headaches disappeared.

I had an echo stress test (speed increases every two minutes) and at 6 minutes my blood pressure starting falling so the test was stopped and the doctor said sometimes with blood pressure medicine that happens. He said my heart was fine. I had a by-pass 12 years ago. So do I have to worry?
