byetta

Avatar m tn To enhance your knowledge of Byetta, its development and current use follow this link:- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Exenatide. Getting control on the right-for-you medication is not easy. I have beed T2D since 2007 and have been on a number of different Meds, some of which seemed to work but then longer term had problems. You must keep you chin up and work with your dr. to find the best contol for you. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I used Byetta for a long time and I am not an expert or medical person. You are best to get the information from your doctor. Before I started using Byetta, I had to take classes from a nurse on how I had to inject Byetta into my stomach. It was prescribed by my Doctor. Byetta has side effects reported by some people but I had no problems with it other than the expense. It does give you a feeling of fullness and it has a nickname (Spit).
Avatar m tn I would really like some help with this. Byetta has been wonderful so far, and I've lost 30 lbs, yay! But now I've developed insomnia - terrible, only 3 hours of sleep a night insomnia, which has never bothered me before. If I skip my second Byetta shot for the day, I can usually get a full night's sleep. So that's certainly a clue that I may not be able to take the full two doses of Byetta a day.
Avatar f tn I see that this is under juvenile diabetes, which I know even less about. But, Byetta is remarkable for a lot of folks, and there are two newer, similar, products available also.
Avatar n tn I had to change to Byetta in about 2 weeks (finished Victoza sample and insurance would only pay for Byetta). I developed nausea at the smaller dose of Victoza, and never used the larger dose. The nausea was unchanged with the change of meds.....and I have lost a LOT of weight (29 pounds). But the nausea started within a day or two of starting it. At least for me.
178107 tn?1315947630 Has anyone used Byetta? I started taking it four weeks ago and it has done wonders on controling my blood sugars and I have also lost 16 pounds. My doctor told me that it may help me to drop a few pounds, but I never thought it could help that much. I admit it does make you nausious, but I can take that for the weight loss.
Avatar m tn t seem to be experiencing the usual side effects (nausea, headache) others do or that I did when I was on Byetta (I was told Victoza is very similar to Byetta) a few years ago. However ... and this happened to me on a prior med (I forget which one) about 6 months ago, but I started feeling pretty severe anxiety: my face is flushed, my heart is racing, I have a knot in my stomach, and I started getting paranoid (like thinking a friend was going to betray me) for no reason whatsoever.
Avatar n tn Has the doctor taken you off of Byetta? I am on byetta and just found out I am pregnant. I am scared that something could go wrong. I have waited 7 years to concieved. Have you heard of any damaging side effects with Byetta? I am off now and only 4 weeks pregnant. I just know what to think.
Avatar f tn I have been sick with a cold/flu for three weeks. Two days ago, I developed diarrhea. It seemed to occur immediately after eating. Today, the diarrhea was bright yellow and I passed something the size of a small grape (also yellow in color). I'm currently on synthroid (for hypothyroidism), effexor (for depression), and metformin & byetta (for insulin resistence). I've been on the Byetta for nearly a month, but have not suffered any side effects to date.
502219 tn?1311357910 In March while following up on a case of Ludwigs Angina my enhanced CT scan showed.small non pathologically enlarged lymph nodes bilaterally with some inhomogeneity within the thyroid. I hadn't really worried about it until today when I saw a commercial for a law firm warning that the diabetic drug "Byetta" could cause thyroid cancer. I used this med for over a year in 2006 and was taken off because of other complications. Now I'm scared. Should I be?
Avatar f tn Its mechanism of action includes enhanced neurotransmission of GABA (by inhibiting GABA transaminase, which breaks down GABA). However, several other mechanisms of action in neuropsychiatric disorders have been proposed for valproic acid in recent years. *Rosenberg, G. (2007). "The mechanisms of action of valproate in neuropsychiatric disorders: Can we see the forest for the trees?". Cellular and Molecular Life Sciences 64 (16): 2090–2103. doi:10.1007/s00018-007-7079-x.
Avatar n tn I was wondering if any of this sounds like it could be diabetes: My hand and feet have really bad circulation. They often turn completely white and the bottom of my feet burn all the time due to poor circulation. Also if I do not get up and eat with in 5-10minutes in the morning I get very tired. One last thing is that I usually get no warning sign of being hungry. I feel full and fine and the next minute I feel like if I do not eat I am going to pass out.
Avatar m tn The most common cause of anemia in a hyperthyroid patient will be anemia of chronic disease, the inability to efficiently produce hemoglobin from iron stores. The other possibility is anti-thyroid drug therapy. Diffuse body aches can be seen in both hyperthyroidism and has a reaction to antithyroid drugs.
Avatar n tn doc says its normal. I have other issues as well, loss of sex drive, hot and cold, sleepless, tingling in hands, memory issues, headaches. Why can I lose weight? This discussion is related to weight increased - TSH is high.
Avatar n tn The most recent studies are showing continued benefits of low LDL in reducing atherosclerosis formation as well as reversal of plaque build up after 18 months of having a LDL less than 70. There are may be other reasons why patients can develop cardiovascular disease. The fractionated lipid panel may help understand what type of LDL particles you have. The bigger particle sizes of LDL are associated with less build up than smaller LDL.
202665 tn?1248806733 I have, however, learned a myriad of other bad coping mechanisms from my family of origin - poor conflict resolution skills, passivity, people blaming, martyrdom, passive-aggressiveness, etc. The above may make me sound bad but I’ve also been told many times by different people that I’m very kind and have a good heart – so it’s not all bad.
Avatar n tn Hello guys, I will try to keep this as short as possible without being obsessive and annoying. My story is pretty much the same as of many and many that I have read here on this forum and on various other public forums aswell. I did this mistake a few years ago and went in a spiral. I recieved unprotected oral from a Sex worker and fingered her aswell and got worried as I had a hangnail on my finger. No ejaculation in mouth as I dont think that is a nice thing to do.
475740 tn?1208262865 Ask about getting Byetta. I had the same problem with metformin. The byetta has controlled my blood sugars and my pcos.
Avatar n tn Amlodipine and Lisinopril have different mechanisms of action... These medications are prescribed depending on the status of the patient(co-morbidities or other diseases)... For example, Beta-Blockers(a class/group of anti-hypertensives) is not given to a hypertensive patient with asthma since this may exacerbate/worsen the asthma... Better a consult your doctor...
Avatar m tn I am not physically restricted - I walk 1 mile or more day and do 10 minutes of other light exercises most days. My BP runs under 120/80 most of the time. I understand carvedilol helps prevent stiffening of the heart muscle and can help restore LV function to some degree. How specially, so it do this? What is the biochemical mechanism?
Avatar f tn i have 15 byetta prefilled pens 10mg for sale as i no longer need them maybe their some one what them and they are all store in cooler/fridge.
Avatar n tn Amoxicillin is a penicillin type of antibiotic and Avelox is a quinilone. Different mechanisms of action but both antiobitics used to treat bacterial infections. Quinilones are used less frequently for sure due to some side effect issues and warnings about the class of drugs. Check with your doctor if you have any concerns but they are definately not the same thing. Often antibiotics have little niches that they are used in. good luck and hope you feel better.
