Common Questions and Answers about Maximum dosage of mirapex for rls

mirapex

1182133 tn?1266851531 s 0436, day 7 no vics and I did sleep about 6 hours, but I take 1mg klonopin every night for fibro and I take mirapex for RLS -- the vicodin also helps with RLS but the mirapex works better I promise...I get it in my legs, hips and arms and I just want to scream.......see if you can get some samples of that or requip bcuz even with insurance they are expensive. You can get through it - it will get better, oh, just remembered...mirapex.
410281 tn?1254229064 I never realized what a good night's sleep felt like until Mirapex....I started out on a drug trial when this medication first was introduced; my dosage was .25mg. Now, 20 years later, I'm up to 1.5 mg per night, but still sleeping like a baby. The OTC "restless leg" drugs are helpful, but nothing works for RLS like Mirapex. If you are without prescription drug coverage or can't afford it, the manufacturer will supply your drugs if you qualify.
Avatar f tn Well I'm super proud of your taper....and I'll be rooting for you and praying for you since you started your new journey to freedom today. Congrats on Day 1 with nothing girl!!!......
Avatar m tn I also take Mirapex and it works well for me. I also have eaten bananas and that helps...google rls and see if you can find any other ideas.
Avatar m tn I had tried all the usual medications for rls before taking the Ultram. I have tried requip, mirapex, sinamet, gabapentin, lyrica and a host of others. Ultram was the only one that worked well. For three and a half years I was free of the rls syptoms. Now though I am afraid I am going to experience not only increased rls symptoms but also the other withdrawl symptoms associated with quiting the Ultram. I am looking for responses from others that have been in this boat.
Avatar n tn Thank you Worried for the detailed information. I had no idea those extra receptor sites never went away!! I guess that's why the experts say that once you are an addict, you always will be. =( I understand the dangers of an addict messing around with dopamine. I just have such a tough time with the RLS. If it was only for four or five days, I could hang in there, but mine tends to last more like 14 or 15 days.
Avatar n tn This has kept the RLS under control but about 7pm has sent me to sleep - most inconvenient for evening meetings! Today my specialist put me on Gabapentin - 100mg twice a day for one week, increasing by 100mg per dose per week up to 600mg in the sixth week. I have therefore stopped the Ropinerole. What I forget to ask is what time of day/night it is best to take the Gabapentin capsules. My RLS is (was) bad in the evenings & through the night.
410281 tn?1254229064 It's possible. Sleep deprivation causes a generalized nervous system excitability which can manifest in various muscle twitches and spasms. Mirapex (which is also used for Parkinson's) acts in your central nervous system to control your nervous system problems. Did you ever treat your sleep apnea? And if so, how was it treated?
Avatar n tn Hi, I too have problems with sedative or sleep meds. and my RLS but not often, if I take the two meds, Mirapex and Ambien too close together I get terrible spasms, it feels like Restless body and not just my legs, so I take the Mirapex around 9PM. and the Ambien when needed around 10PM.
1390101 tn?1281000559 I was on mirapex for 3 years, my miracle drug, for my RLS during that period I develop a gambling addiction. I find out that this is a side of the mirapex. For the sake of my self and the loss od my my family I choose to get off of it.I It took me 2 trys to get off of them and have suceeded. I no long have the urge to gamble. ,Now I am on simumet for my RLS and it does not work like the mirapex , I wake up in the middle of the night and can't go to sleep.
398059 tn?1447945633 I posted a couple of times , Mirapex is what my Mother takes for RLS. Someone else posted that they take it for RLS . Both having great success with it after many many yrs of drs. , meds and NO sleep.
279948 tn?1241270076 However, when thinking of the future, I will have to admit I am more frightened of RLS which I have had since I was seven. I am taking Mirapex for relief of this torturous malady, but now I am afraid of the drug. I take .25mg four times a day. I have had episodes of going to sleep and dropping whatever it is I have in my hands. As of today, I am trying to cut down and take half a dose in the morning and at noon. The drug has made my life bearable.
487070 tn?1313665952 I also take Mirapex for RLS and Parkinson's like syndrome...also called familiale tremors, which is hereditery. I take 1mg. at bedtime each night. The only side effect I have experienced is the dry, yucky tasting mouth in the morning, but brushing my teeth a couple of times usually takes care of the taste, and I keep something to drink on my nightstand every night. I have had great success with Mirapex, in fact I will not go without it...
1428639 tn?1283043789 ( Sorry if this is confusing) My counselor I was seeing explained to me that I should probably never have started methadone, but that is neither her nor there now, for now it is almost a year later, and have been fully off of methadone for a week. I sleep fine, I am tired alot..... i hope this will go away, not so much tired I guess as I am unmotivated... I know mentality has alot to do with this.
Avatar n tn I'm on .25mg of Mirapex for RLS and am gaining weight. Has anyone else experienced this. Any idea as to why. Suggestions? Thanks!
Dog But as you know what might work great for one patient might not work great for another. But maybe worth a try.
Avatar f tn RLS is now listed as a symptom and Mirapex as a treatment in the Pain Tracker. Thanks for the suggestion. Best, MedHelp Pain Tracker: http://www.medhelp.
Avatar f tn Mirapex is amazing for RLS. Also yes a heating pad on your lower back does wonders. Your three days in. I'm twenty. The last three nights I haven't used mirapex or a heating pad. It's awesome! Stay strong. Just think, you really wanna go through everything again?
Avatar n tn Well, the Soma you're only supposed to take for two or three weeks, so if it's been that long, that's it for that drug. You're not supposed to take Wellbutrin with Clonazepam, so your doc will need to guide you in getting off the Wellbutrin slowly. Sometimes the frustration pain causes can depress a person, but you've got pain under control, so you might can see will the doc not give a replacement antidepressant for a while.
Avatar m tn im with worried there are meds for the rls dont understand why they gave you hydrocodone for rls crazy! but you are 1/2 was there give or take a day or two! and you was taking a low dose, just the long time frame! id get your dr. to get you something better for rls as worried & kimmieb has suggested. hang in there your doing a good job.i had a 4 year snorting habit(percs) i just ct used a few meds for anxiety & sleep i now have 39 days clean.
710547 tn?1295446030 I have had what I call RLS, off and on for years. I don't have periodic limb movement - sleep studies have confirmed. I have a need to tense and contract my muscles - legs, arms, and at times, even my torso. It's as though a toxin is in my muscles which only contracting them constantly relieves. I know that is how many describe it, but it often gets confused with the movement disorder. I have low iron, and have had to have infusions before.
Avatar f tn Welcome, welcome welcome!! I am a long time sufferer of Restless Leg Syndrome, now called 'Restless Limb Syndrome,' since it's known to affect the arms AND the legs. I cannot take any of the dopamine medications to help with the RLS. RLS has now affected my arms as well as my legs. Sleeping escapes me on so many nights. I bite my arms in a useless effort to stop the creepy crawling sensations. I also was diagnosed with MS 14 years ago.
1091472 tn?1268845655 yes it did work for me if its not working then I would go see your for something prescription for rls they have a few things now
Avatar f tn But waht i wanted to comment was something i read here from a poster about some meds for RLS... mirapex and requip... it seems they increase the dopamine levels with some side effects not to get overlooked by someone with addiction issues... The poster shared her experience with mirapex of getting addicted to gambling. It can happen. She even left a link of a documental made in Canada about this terrible effect of mirapex.
910476 tn?1245881549 parkinsons is caused from a lack of dopamine...and rls from wds is caused by a lack of dopamine as it takes a bit for ur brain to start producing dopamine in sufficient amts after stopping the pills...parkinson patients twitch and i feel for them...so it makes sense that a dopamine enhancer used for parkinsons would help rls...but sometimes it is better to start with some less extreme methods with the rls..some people have rls and do not have parkinson nor an addiction..my mom does...
