Maxalt with tylenol

Common Questions and Answers about Maxalt with tylenol

maxalt

Avatar f tn Maxalt really helped my migraines. I had tightness & hoarseness with Imitrex which is a Triptan, but not with Maxalt or another one. I took them for years until 2003 when the migraines stopped.
655875 tn?1295695107 I have no side effects with the Maxalt. When I take the Maxalt, it will stop the migraine an instant about an hour after taking the medicine. The maxalt has been a miracle drug for my headaches and I normally only have to take one in a day. This is one of the very few medicines that my body will tolerate without any problems. The Maxalt must still be working because I'm still very sick to my stomach. I bet I'd still have the migraine if I didn't take the medicine.
1817265 tn?1317302747 I also suffer from migraines & used to take Maxalt. When I was pregnant with my 1st, the dr prescribed Imitrex & I've been taking it since. I take 1/2 a pill & if it doesn't work (which it does most of the time), then I take the other half. You are supposed to take it at the onset of a migraine otherwise it gets so bad that the meds are not as effective. Talk to your dr ASAP! And congratulations on your blessing!!!
7543158 tn?1391978069 I had super bad migraines for over 3 years now and not even topomax, maxalt, ecedrine, tylenol, advil ANYTHING took the agony away. I was always in screaming pain for 5-8 hours having at least 3 a day. Then my obgyn prescribed me butal/ acetaminophen/codiene and it helped SO much, within 30 minutes the pain and migraine went away and didn't come back. who knew my obgyn would help better than my doctor? Lol.
Avatar n tn if she has taken this every day for 25+ years, it is time to look for alternatives anyway. switching from the kind with aspirin to the kind with tylenol will allow the ulcer to heal (hopefully)...however, it increases the chances of liver damage. at 25 years, she should have her liver checked anyway since barbiturates are notorious for causing damage. adding tylenol to the mix will only make these chances increase....
1549468 tn?1345468736 January 7 I had an EEG that was the most painful thing that was ever done to me. The lights were so bright that it made my eyes roll downward in my eye sockets and my left leg jerk terribly. I could not control it. Also the noises in my ears were extremely loud, enough to startle me. I have had a severe headache since then & Tylenol does not help, which is all I'm allowed to take because of my medications. Has anyone had the same experiences as I have? Any suggestions for the headache?
Avatar f tn pills every 4 hours was and which one had the worst side effects and why I liked the Stadol better so I told her first I treat my headache with 2 extra strength tylenol, and then Maxalt Melt tablets and then 2 mg. of dilaudid and if none of these work after waiting a reasonable amout of time between each medication I use the Stadol instead of going to the Emergency Room.
Avatar f tn I would go get cat scan, my mother was misdiagnosed with kidney stones and it turned out to be pancreatic cancer. Once pancreatic cancer is diagnosed it is terminal becuase Dr don't catch in time.
Avatar m tn m concerned because after talking to my doctor he looked at my charts and noted that I relapse with migraines every three months. These migraines are so severe it keeps me from doing my every day activities. I was wondering what I could take on the side for these because since the amitriptyline isn't working my doctor told me to stay on it for a week and it just still isn't working.
Avatar m tn She proclaims that she diluted and injected her migraine medicine (Maxalt) because she keeps throwing it up. Her symptoms, however, where those of an opiate overdose....blue hands and face, low respiration, eyes rolling backwards, staggering, tremoring arms upon waking up, disorientation, etc. Does anyone know what the side effects would be of injecting maxalt? I find this impossible to believe that it would knock her out and turn her blue.
Avatar m tn almost every day for the past 6 years I have headaches, I am 20 years old with an overall good health. 6 years ago I was diagnosed with migraines, that same year I had done a electroecephalogram and everything came back good. . but the headaches were still there. they did stoped for about 1 year after that period but have been coming back almost every day for the past 3 years... I feel a pressure on either of the eyes, sometimes palpitation of the temporal sides..
Avatar m tn i got these pills recently called Maxalt not sure how they work I woke up with a migrane couple days ago . took one and eventually fell back asleep woke up and was fine..so these pills seem to help when the pain gets bad.thanks for your help DrNoopurMD i love this site.
1030950 tn?1261010513 My doctor told me he has no idea what it is and is making an appointment with the Neurologist. It has already been 35 days with these persistent headaches. They have not gone away one day so far. My family and I are at a loss and don’t know what to do anymore.
Avatar n tn Hello, I have had an ongoing headache with nausea for about three weeks. Mri and labs checked out ok. Darvocet, tylenol, ibuprofen dont seem to help much. Dr gave me a shot in my neck which helped for two days but also left me with flushing. The same Dr gave me Naproxen and hydracodone but i cannot take the hydracodone as it upsets my stomach and basically does not allow me to function. The front and back of my head hurt as do my neck and jaw.
655875 tn?1295695107 I will try and abort the headache with the ice pack before resorting to aspirin or ibuprofen. If the ice pack does not work with in 20-30 minutes, I will take either aspirin or ibuprofen. I will wait 20-40 minutes to see if that will work. If that does not work, I resort to the Maxalt. My question is, are these rebound headaches from the Maxalt? I use the Maxalt no more then once to twice a week.
Avatar f tn They can take an EEG (to check the electrical part of the brain) and maybe a MRI to follow up with the structrual. Hopefully the symptoms will help them diagnose you properly. I have a migraine variant and migraines and my EEG is abnormal without meds.
7543158 tn?1391978069 I used to have to take 300mg of topomax for migraines plus 10mg of maxalt on top of it to help. I was also on some low doses of vicodin (sp?) for pain due to fractures in my legs and hips. Since I found out about the pregnancy I have stopped taking everything. I don't like taking medication anyway if I don't really need it. My fractures I have learned to deal with so I'm not too bothered by that but my migraines are worse than I've ever had them.
Avatar m tn Hi, I am new....Just yesterday heard of Chiari...I have been having Migraines & head aches for over 2 years now. Went to the Dr. She never has mentioned a MRI. My head never feels perfect. The pain grows during the day. By 4 to 5 I am laying on the couch. The pain is sharp and then not so, but there is always a bad feeling(numbness or pressure I guess would explain it) up there. Its so hard to explain.
Avatar n tn Other than Tylenol there isnt much. Do you normally drink caffeine? If ao, cut it out...if not, drink some. There are pressure points between your thumb and pointer finger you can try. I had them really bad to where I was in a dark roo. In sunglasses with my last pregnancy. That lasted 2 months. If they get too bad, ask about reglan. It's a anti nausea med that has a side effect of helping migraines. It's the only thing that helped me.
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with migraine after driving on a cloudy day without sunglasses for an hour and a half that resulted in a terrific headache, sensitivity to light and spotlights blocking my vision. The following day I could not stand up and felt like I had been given novacaine (sp) from a dentist--the left side of my tongue and upper palate were numb. I was given Benadryl, Reglan and Toradol which made me feel terrible by an ER doctor.
1125820 tn?1265284446 I personally use Zomig Nasal Spray and find it works extremely well. I also have found great success with Maxalt-MLTs. Statistically, compared to the other triptans, Imitrex Injection, Zomig Nasal Spray and Maxalt-MLTs have the highest success rates for total pain relief in the shortest amount of time.
Avatar f tn When I was having frequent migraines and my insurance would only pay for one refill of Maxalt each month, I obtained prescriptions for both Maxalt and Relpax and filled both each month. They worked equally well for me.
Avatar f tn For several years I have dealt with headaches, and recently they have gotten worse and more often. They start on one side of the head first, and extremely painful. Pain is in my nose, temples and contiunes to the back of the neck. I try tylenol, motrin combined wtih a sinus reliever and that only makes me sick to my stomach. After a few days with the pain on one side it will fade and go away then come back on the opposite side for another few days always the same type of pain.
