Common Questions and Answers about Maxalt with alcohol

maxalt

Avatar f tn Maxalt really helped my migraines. I had tightness & hoarseness with Imitrex which is a Triptan, but not with Maxalt or another one. I took them for years until 2003 when the migraines stopped.
Avatar m tn I ate during the evening and drank alcohol. I woke up around 3 a.m. with an unbeleivable migraine as well as the most extreme nausea that I have ever had. Then, I began throwing up avey 15-20 minutes for several hours. My maxalt didn't help my migraine. I finally removed the patch, took some migraine Excedrin and slept most of the day. My vomiting did stop late in the morning but I still ahve a pretty bad headache. I also felt that my pusle was fast.
Avatar m tn Oh, by the way, I should also mention I have chronic migranes that can last for days even with migrane meds such as maxalt (melt on the tongue tabs).
Avatar m tn She proclaims that she diluted and injected her migraine medicine (Maxalt) because she keeps throwing it up. Her symptoms, however, where those of an opiate overdose....blue hands and face, low respiration, eyes rolling backwards, staggering, tremoring arms upon waking up, disorientation, etc. Does anyone know what the side effects would be of injecting maxalt? I find this impossible to believe that it would knock her out and turn her blue.
1552758 tn?1304928419 Something else that used to trigger my migraines was that if I drove along a road that had trees down each side so that there was a constant flashing of light/dark patterns, I would always end up with a migraine. Same with driving at night, with oncoming vehicles bright lights. Remember that too much medication will also trigger your migraines. After a while you will perhaps see a pattern. I also discovered that you have a hot or a cold migraine type person.
655875 tn?1295695107 I will try and abort the headache with the ice pack before resorting to aspirin or ibuprofen. If the ice pack does not work with in 20-30 minutes, I will take either aspirin or ibuprofen. I will wait 20-40 minutes to see if that will work. If that does not work, I resort to the Maxalt. My question is, are these rebound headaches from the Maxalt? I use the Maxalt no more then once to twice a week.
Avatar f tn If you click on the link of my username (heiferly) in blue at the top of the post, you can browse through my pictures on my profile here on MedHelp. I've got some pictures of my flushing episodes in there, and I'm sure there are others here on the forum who experience flushing as a symptom. I have it pretty frequently--just about any time my dysauto is buggered up, be that from heat intolerance, orthostatic stress (i.e.
655875 tn?1295695107 I have no side effects with the Maxalt. When I take the Maxalt, it will stop the migraine an instant about an hour after taking the medicine. The maxalt has been a miracle drug for my headaches and I normally only have to take one in a day. This is one of the very few medicines that my body will tolerate without any problems. The Maxalt must still be working because I'm still very sick to my stomach. I bet I'd still have the migraine if I didn't take the medicine.
Avatar m tn m concerned because after talking to my doctor he looked at my charts and noted that I relapse with migraines every three months. These migraines are so severe it keeps me from doing my every day activities. I was wondering what I could take on the side for these because since the amitriptyline isn't working my doctor told me to stay on it for a week and it just still isn't working.
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with migraine after driving on a cloudy day without sunglasses for an hour and a half that resulted in a terrific headache, sensitivity to light and spotlights blocking my vision. The following day I could not stand up and felt like I had been given novacaine (sp) from a dentist--the left side of my tongue and upper palate were numb. I was given Benadryl, Reglan and Toradol which made me feel terrible by an ER doctor.
Avatar f tn When I was having frequent migraines and my insurance would only pay for one refill of Maxalt each month, I obtained prescriptions for both Maxalt and Relpax and filled both each month. They worked equally well for me.
Avatar f tn I also get migraines. have you paid attention to any of the known migraine "triggers" like red wiine & chocolate, hard cheeses etc. You probably have but I thought I'd mention it. Like the others, I take Maxalt for mine & it always works. Maxalt is from the migraine interrupter family & also includes imetrix & Zomig. Good luck - it sounds very difficult.
Avatar n tn i took 2 maxalt on saturday for a migraine, it didnt help at all, actually made it worse making me vomit for 3 days and today is friday, 6 days later and i still feel like, tired, weak, foggy, not hungry, cant really go to the bathroom even though i feel like i have to. is this gonna go away?
Avatar f tn I'm now 20 weeks pregnant and suffer from migraines and daily tension headaches. I get them daily. I was prescribed Fioricet, but everything I've read scares me. I had a friend who took them almost daily due to hormonal headaches which increased with pregnancy and her baby is healthy.
Avatar f tn Maxalt rocks. I love it and carry it everywhere with me. www.maxalt.com Another new med www.relpax.com (I have some, just not had a headache lately to use them) because I take my magnesium :0-). Here is a good site with migraine info. http://www.achenet.org/ And you need to get your migraine "bible" I got mine off of half.com cheap. This book helped me a lot in understanding my headaches and lots of good info.
1088430 tn?1259159773 Dealt on my own for 6yrs (WAY TOO LONG). When the neurologist gave me an rx for relpax (along with two other things) couple of wks ago, had no clue why it only had six pills in the box. They worked like GOLD if I took them soon enough with an acute migraine attack. Didn't last long though. After four days, was out of the six pills. Thought that's why he gave me "5 refills" until dumby me went to the pharmacy to get what I thought would be the first refill.
Avatar n tn My daughter is 17. She has had migraines since she was 8. They start with vision loss. Then her body starts to go numb. She has trouble focusing and talking. She gets dizzy and nausiated. They usually last about 24-48 hours. Recently she gets them as often as twice a week. Two weeks ago, she had a migraine at school and the school had me meet her at the doctors office. By the time I got there she was having seizures and the doctor gave her Maxalt and had called an ambulance.
Avatar f tn Hello! I am 34 years old for the past 2 years I have been getting nausea with constant headache for 6 days before my period. It's to the point where I'm on zofran and have maxalt for headache. I can't leave my house because I feel like I'm going to vomit but I don't. I guess that's a good thing, lol zofran works. Once I get my period it goes away! Anyone experience this or have any feedback thank you!!!
Avatar m tn almost every day for the past 6 years I have headaches, I am 20 years old with an overall good health. 6 years ago I was diagnosed with migraines, that same year I had done a electroecephalogram and everything came back good. . but the headaches were still there. they did stoped for about 1 year after that period but have been coming back almost every day for the past 3 years... I feel a pressure on either of the eyes, sometimes palpitation of the temporal sides..
390338 tn?1206462648 I confused it with another med. Imitrex, Maxalt, and Frova are all triptans but since they are all slightly different, one may work for me and not for you. Like, Imitrex worked for me, but I always felt like I couldn't breathe, so now I take Maxalt. It works great, but since I have nearly daily migraines, I'm taking the Topamax to try to prevent them. The side effects are already killing me, at 75 mg. It worries me bc today my dr. said I may need to go up to 150 mg. to control them.
1030950 tn?1261010513 My doctor told me he has no idea what it is and is making an appointment with the Neurologist. It has already been 35 days with these persistent headaches. They have not gone away one day so far. My family and I are at a loss and don’t know what to do anymore.
