maxalt wafers

I tried to close my eyes and then open them but it continued for about 15 mins, once it slowed down i took one of my migraine pills (maxalt wafers) and feel back to sleep, once I woke a couple of hours later apart from feeling exhausted my vision had improved and my migraine was back to a dull throb. Has anyone had any simular experiences or do you think it could be caused by the pill. Please help as it was very scary.

HI, my husband just moved to India for a month and has forgotten his prescription medication in America (Maxalt MLT) Is there anyone who would know what the Indian version of Maxalt MLT would be? I am currently posting from america. I could have it shipped but the cost and everything would take too long.

i have all that and i no how sore you are its that sore you could cry , i go chronic pain uni get injections in my neck and the back of my head plus i took maxalt wafers that melts on my tongue , to reduce the swolling blood vessels then co-codamol 30-500 it is def migraine i have had thenm since i was 4 and iam now 44 think i have been on everything .

Hello every body. I take mirtazapine 15mg tablets and have Jus been prescribed maxalt melt 10mg wafers for my bad migranes. I'm only 17 and have sufferd around 22 panic attacks/hospital trips. I really wanted to know if its suitable to take both.1 mirtazapine per night and 1 maxalt wafer per evening each night. Is this not adviseable?. PLEASE HELP, REALLY WORRIED. thanks.

t mean to interrupt but I am actually a pharmacist and thought I could clarify the maxalt questions.... Maxalt is not a beta blocker. It is a 5HT1B receptor agonist. Basically it's a triptan drug that is used for vascular migraines. Vascular migraines cause vasodilation of blood vessels and that dilation causes pain. Triptan drugs cause vasoconstriction of those blood vessels and thus reduced the pain caused by pressure.

I cannot seem to keep the wafers, or barriers as some call them, attached. The stool just pushes up and out and makes the wafer come off. It does not drop in the bag like it is supposed to. I am taking 400 mg of stool softner and miralax per day to try and soften things up as the doctor told me this should help the situation. I have a recessed stoma, it does not poke out. I have used concave and regular wafers, but not used the belt as I do not like it.

My doctor prescribed me these vitamin d3 wafers that I'm suppose to take weekly since my vitamin d is a little on the low side and he says vit d deficiency can cause several birth defects. So I've been taking Replesta vit d3 for 3 weeks now its one chewable tablet per week & just now I just read on the indications and use sheet "NOT TO BE USED BY PREGNANT WOMEN". Says it can cause heart defects in fetuses amongst other things. I dont know how to feel right now.

They're pretty good because they work a lot faster than the pills, and they don't taste bad to me. They just dissolve in your mouth and go to work! I take them when I can't control my anxiety any other way, but I must say that for some reason the pill form seems stronger even with the same dosage. This could be because of what they mix it with. If you don't like waiting an hour on the pills, then the wafers are a good choice. They are also a bit more expensive (just a bit).

I HAVE BEEN ON METHODONE PINK LIQUID AT A CLINIC, THIS WEEKEND THEY SWITCHED ME TO THE WAFERS I TAKE 100. 2 AND 1/2 WAFERS. I WAS FINE AT THAT DOES BUT NOW WHEN I TOOK THW WAFERS SAT AND TODAY I AM HAVEING WITHDRAWS WHY? ITS SUPPOSE TO BE THE SAME RIGHT ?

I am 12 weeks and have terrible morning sickness and nausea. the wafers are all that works. i am having trouble getting a script larger than four wafer or tablets. its really started to drive me mental. i am having to go to the doctor every four days just so i am able to function for work. any suggestions on how to get around this problem??

s Ginger Trips (or the wafers) for my nausea and/or stomach ache. Dizzyness, they are good for all those things, great you discovered them. I'm not finished with my tx.

She proclaims that she diluted and injected her migraine medicine (Maxalt) because she keeps throwing it up. Her symptoms, however, where those of an opiate overdose....blue hands and face, low respiration, eyes rolling backwards, staggering, tremoring arms upon waking up, disorientation, etc. Does anyone know what the side effects would be of injecting maxalt? I find this impossible to believe that it would knock her out and turn her blue.

I've heard of methodone being referred to as "pink wafers". I'm 27 days off of methodone.I personally refer to it as "pure evil".Stay away from metodone.Just my opinion.

does either imitrex or maxalt contain caffeine? I was taking Maxalt for migraines and it worked great! Now my insurance has decided I need to try Imitrex before they will approve coverage for the Maxalt. The Imitrex took about 2 hours to have any effect, but eventually my headache subsided. Since then I have had recurring headaches for 4 days.

Wafers are expensive and cannot be cut. You can cut a .5 mg tab into fourths easily. Each fourth will equal .125 mg. I have taken a long slow taper and have had no withdrawal yet. Hope it continues. Hope you can be successful also. good luck. Ryan is definately the guy to listen to. If you can afford the wafers or have coverage I would take his advice.

My question is, are these rebound headaches from the Maxalt? I use the Maxalt no more then once to twice a week. This could also be sinus headaches too, I'm not 100% sure as I feel pressure in my head also. Is it okay to take the Maxalt 1-2 times a week? I also have a spinal cord nerve injury and I do take the long acting oxycontin every 8 hours for the pain.

The wafers are equal to 1/2 of the .05 mg tab. The wafers instruct you not to break or cut them, but my doctor said it would work and it did. I used a pill cutter. It wasn't always a uniform cut but it worked out in the daily total. I started by taking two wafers=.05 mg per dose. I took away a quarter wafer from my daily total(started w/ am dose). I stayed at that amount for two weeks and then took away another quarter wafer and so on. Your doctor has to prescribe the wafers.

They have been increasing in quantity and severity until about a year and a half ago I had to stop working completely. I am on a combination of darvacet, tramadol, topomax and maxalt. The combination leaves me in bed about 18 hours a day. I have had two MRIs. One with contrast and one without. Neither shows any good reason for my pain. The headache never goes away and I have no idea what makes it hit so hard every few days (room blacked out and crawling to the bathroom). Am I the only one.

hi welcome well there are several names for the methadone demon but its all the same stuff ive seen the metadose pills and was on methadone for a long time 6 1/2 yrs If your considering it..my advise is RUN THE OTHER WAY....

My friend had called me and I told her that I was too sick to talk and that I had run out of my Maxalt. My friend is a life saver! When she got off of work, she picked up my Maxalt and brought it to me. She also brought me some hot dogs, chips and pop because I had nothing to eat in the house. Hubby left on Wednsday and took the kids up to the cabin, so I've been here alone. I thought that was extremely nice of my friend to go and do that for me.

When I was having frequent migraines and my insurance would only pay for one refill of Maxalt each month, I obtained prescriptions for both Maxalt and Relpax and filled both each month. They worked equally well for me.

I also get migraines. have you paid attention to any of the known migraine "triggers" like red wiine & chocolate, hard cheeses etc. You probably have but I thought I'd mention it. Like the others, I take Maxalt for mine & it always works. Maxalt is from the migraine interrupter family & also includes imetrix & Zomig. Good luck - it sounds very difficult.

i took 2 maxalt on saturday for a migraine, it didnt help at all, actually made it worse making me vomit for 3 days and today is friday, 6 days later and i still feel like, tired, weak, foggy, not hungry, cant really go to the bathroom even though i feel like i have to. is this gonna go away?

My first 2pregnacys they also gave me vicoden for when migranes were unbearable. This pregnancy my Dr told me I could also take maxalt( I was told w my first 2 that maxalt was not safe AT ALL) after doing some research I decided against maxalt but am continuing firocet.
