marinol vs weed

I want and need to stop smoking pot but want to avoid the w/d's, need to work etc. It's my understanding Marinol can ease the symptoms considerably. Anyone know how to get it? I tried going to the Dr but he would not prescribe it off-label. Any suggestions?

t get a doctor to prescribe me xanax, but they will prescribe alprolozam? Also, how do I get a doctor to prescribe Marinol? I am in constant pain -again due to Fibromyalgia. Marijuana is the only thing that helps me. I've had hundreds of different prescriptions and treatments over the last 17 years and nothing but a massage, hot tub, and Marijuana help ease my non-stop pain.

I always find it odd that the same "doctors" who promote smoking of marijuana recoil in horror at those who smoke tobacco. You're still putting heat and pollutants into your lungs so the same risks apply to marijuana as tobacco. Of course pain is reduced if you smoke weed three times a day - you don't feel much of anything when you're stoned out of your mind.

Medicare coverage depends on doctor's DIAGNOSIS which must be "cachexia related to cancer" along with dose not exceeding FDA label maximum for the diagnosis. I do not know the FDA rules. The "alternative" is just dronabinol, the generic name of marinol. Marinol is synthetic THC, an oil/liquid at room temp, but provided as gel tabs which must be kept refrigerated. Marinol is NOT the CBD discussed on TV for kids.

I took 1 2.5 mg Marinol cap about 2 weeks ago. I don't do drugs. The pill was taken by mistake. Am I positive for THC?

I've read about some people diagnosed with ADD taking marinol as a form of medication. I was wondering what effects it would have when taken with adderall, or as a replacement for other meds. What sort of side effects, and/or lack of side effects to make other meds more effective.

There's a form of marijuana in pill form... it's called MARINOL (Dronabinol). I was put on it when I lost 40lbs as a side-effect of taking another medication. The side-effect of MARINOL, is that it gives you the munchies and MAKES you want to eat. Gained the weight back slowly, and stopped taking it. Makes me wonder why they went all-out, and went the actual marijuana route, instead of trying MARINOL first.

Is it of your opinion that Marinol can be an alternative drug to treat Multiple Sclerosis? I cannot handle shots, and I know there are many side effects from the shots.

My dad takes oxycodone 15mg/ oxycontin 20mg/ marinol 2.5mg/ and ibuprofen 220mg Marinol is synthetic marijuana and it is doing wonders for his back pain. But if this is the case then shouldn't he theoretically be able to go off of the oxy's? I am so confused. Doctors don't tell me about liver or kidney protection and that is one of my first concerns.

Just because someones aunts uncles cousins brothers sister was around it or smoked it all through her pregnancy does not mean its safe. (And my cousin smoked weed like crazy through both her pregnancies and guess what? Both her kids have asthma, severe adhd, and one is pretty close to being legally blind and she had both taken away at birth. She has them back now but thats not the point. Her outcome was not a very good one.

I have been treated for Chronic pain post Cancers and therapies, and I am very tolerant to any Opiates. I would like to try using Marinol (synthetic THC) for pain; it helped my pain as well as my nausea when I went through my Stem-cell Transplant. I am in Athens, GA; does anyone know of a doctor willing to prescribe this medicine for pain (when you have not been diagnosed with a cancer...yet?

Is Marinol pills good to use in kids who have seizures from Chiari malformation type 1

I have liver cirrhosis and when I became ill, my doctor prescribed Marinol for weight gain. I had lost 85 lbs and gained 30 pounds with this treatment. My doctor discontinued the Marinol and my weight decreased. I am 6'2" tall and am considering smoking marijuana to achieve the weight gain I am comfortable with. Will this method injure my liver further or have no real effects to it?

The problem with nausea meds like zofran, and pills like marinol, is that during cancer chemo the nausea can be so bad that the patient cannot tolerate oral meds. I tried prescription nausea meds but they were horribly expensive and not particularly effective, even when I could hold them down.

I understand weed is illegal but when it comes down to the fact of either A. Being dehydrated, and losing mass amounts of weight vs smokong a bit of weed or eating it I say, (and so does my dr) that I gotta do what I can to stay healthy and make sure baby gets what it needs. HI Michele, I had to stop triple therapy at end of 19 weeks due to side effects. I am at week 21. I have to admit I thought the side effects would go away after tx stopped, never expected some to get worse and others to return. At about week 17 I started to get the same edema of face, hands & feet. With the same rash you describe and my hair is also about 80% gone with more falling out daily just by touch. My skin is itchy and , I have cracks on my feet & hands feel like sandpaper.

I just think it's so weird that I could use weed for 15 years and quit any given day and not think twice about it... Cocaine same thing! If I understand addiction right it shouldn't be like this ?

s a fine line and people have a lot of opinions about rec.use vs pain vs chronic pain. It just depends on the individuals involved and their own perception. You know what you're doing here and I told you: 4-5 pills a day after all these years says a lot!
