I saw a different doctor a few weeks later and this time in the doctors office it showed WBC so he put me on Macrobid and it made me feel better for like 2 days then not so much. When it was sent out it again came back group b. He put me on amox again for 10 days and then to come back in for another test. It showed no WBC at the office. When sent out it came back with some real low counts of bacteria I guess. He said it would read as a negative? But I still had the symptoms I always had.
Hi wondering if anyone can help me please. A month ago I started to have cramping pain in lower abdomen and frequent urination . My doctor put me on macrobid but that didn't help . Then put me on cipro which didn't help either . The pain would come and go with lower back pain as well and getting up to urinate and bladder pressure all the time . After that my urine culture came back positive with group b strep . I'm not pregnant . My doctor gave me 7 days of penicillin .
It burns when you pee, you get the urge to pee a lot and only a few drops come out. I've had a ton of them.
Alternative, if you have symptoms of frequency, urgency, and pain with urination, you can be treated with a standard antibiotic like bactrim or macrobid for 3-5 days, and see if the symptoms clear up.

The only thing I was ever told I could take for it since I was pregnant was Macrobid. You should call your doctor tomorrow and ask about the Macrobid. Also try drinking cranberry juice, or if you can't stand it (i can't) try the OTC cranberry pills, they should help just the same as the juice. I forget exactly how its supposed to help but it does. DOES MACROBID CAUSE BLEEDING OR MAKE YOUR MENSTRUAL CYCLE COME EARLY. I JUST FINISHED MACROBID 7 DAY TREATMENT. MY MENSTRUAL CAME 3 DAYS EARLY AND THERE IS BRIGHT RED BLOOD AND USUALLY MY MENSTRUAL BLOOD IS NOT THAT BRIGHT. I INITIIALLY WASNT DUE FOR MY MENSTRUAL UNTIL YESTERDAY I'VE BEEN BLEEDING SINCE THE 3RD AND IM STILL BLEEDING BUT NOT ALOT LIKE I WAS YESTERDAY AND THE DAYS BEFORE BUT THE BLEEDING HAS LIGHTENED.
The other day I went to the doctor and come to find out I also have a UTI so the doctor prescribed me the antibiotic macrobid 100 mg twice daily for 7 days. I finished my prescription of Macrobid about a week ago and I believe it also cured my BV. I have tried every antibiotic and this one seems to be helping me. Apparently this antibiotic is only for the bacteria that causes the UTI so I don't know why it made my BV disappear.

I do know that the weakness and numbness in one side can be caused by the MS, but it did not occur until i took the macrobid. I was stopped from taking the macrobid and started on it 2 more times and each time the weakness returned. Is there anyway to fix this?

Did anyone take macrobid for uti during third trimester?
Are you taking macrobid for a uri? I think what is also very often the case with what appears to be spotting during treatment is that the uti in itself can cause what appears to be spotting or a period. https://drhouse.com/can-a-uti-cause-bleeding-like-a-period/ In those cases, it's an inflammatory response. And it gets better when the uti is healed and enough time passes for normalization. The antibiotics kill off bacteria causing the uti which then reduces inflammation.
Uti or bladder infection. My doctor proscribed me macrobid. Terrified to take it, anyone else had to use this while pregnant, I'm only 8 weeks!

I had what I would think was a non risk exposure experimenting with another male. He performed protected oral sex on me and also spit on the head of my penis when the condom wasn't on me and rubbed it in. From everything I have read this is a non risk exposure.
I'm 52 and was prescribed macrobid for a UTI. Shortly after taking it I started having really severe heart palpitations. I have had them off and on since I was 29 and have been told it's probably due to my hypoglycemia. I'm very sensitive to certain medications and I looked this one up and it says it should not be prescribed to older people who have a debilitating condition. I just recently went to the ER for severe pain in my back, stomach, and burning upon urination whenever that was; meaning sometimes I didn't...I'm diabetic but lately I've had 7 uti's just this year alone but this is the first time I've ever been put on Macrobid...usually this drug is given for kidney or bladder infections...
Is there anything I can do for a bad sore throat . I went to my gyn I had a uti he gave me meds macrobid and said it will also help my throat . But I don't see how plus I don't feel comfortable taking meds while I'm pregnant

I was on macrobid for a UTI at the time of collection (started on macrobid Saturday, had 4 doses by the time of collection on Monday morning, blood work as fasting so last dose taken before blood collection was over 12 hours previously). Does anyone know if macrobid affects eGFR or is this level an induction of possible kidney infection/disease/cancer?
She gave me macrobid for it and the first few days I thought I was feeling better but by the 3rd day I was back to feeling bad again. She then wanted me to go on amoxicillin but I have been on that 2x and still have this UTI. So I called a urologist myself and have to wait a week for the appointment. I am worried that it might be a kidney infection now? My only symptoms are pain when my bladder fills and back and pelvic pain.
