it was cut to 25 about 1 year ago) which helped her work through the things causing depression and she is well on her way to recovery (by her own admission and I concur). She wants to stop the medication safely, but her doctor is reluctant to allow her to stop. FYI, we live in Japan and Japanese doctors are assured payment by Health Insurers by prescribing medication.
has anyone here ever been on LUVOX? any luck? Im on celexa for depression and anxiety and OCD. its helping my depression and anxiety, but not really touching my OCD like my doctor had hoped. He upped my dose last week and Im going to give it a few weeks to see, but if it doesnt seem to be working, Im going to ask him about luvox.
lUVOX IS FANTASTIC FOR MY DEPRESSION AND OCD. I also have the greatest therapist in the world.
Along with his help, luvox has been like gold.
I have been diagnosed with depression and depersonalization since my divorce in January. Prior to this I have always had OCD since I could remember. Obsesive thoughts being the most stressful over the years. I am currently on Paxil (2wks) and Luvox (1 wk). Since last October when I found out I was going to get divorced and have to leave my kids and home I have had all kinds of problems emotionally and mentally.
My fiancé suffers from severe anxiety and has been taking 250 mg of Luvox daily. He is extremely exhausted. He can not even stand up, drive or be social involved. Feeling this way is even making him depressed and have no motivation. He already lowered the Luvox dosage a few times already. Is this medicine for him?
I am was taking 30mg of adderall twice a day with 300mg of wellbutrin this seemed to be a good combo for my depression and add. I have recently been put on librium and propanolol for anxiety, thats all good. What I Am really.worried about is the 10mg of abilify they put.me on to help other anti depressant work. They also put me on luvox for OCD. i have heard good and bad things about these combos with adderall. I dont want them to counteract the drug. So any thoughts would be great. Thanks.
During all this I started a new job and I would lay in bed at night and have bad anxiety and panic attacks and I could not sleep . I stated taking .5 alprazolam and it helped for a little while then nothing. My dr. Started me on ambien and lunesta with little relief from either drug. The I started 100mg of trazadone with my .5 alprazolam. I started with a quarter of the trazadone .25 and quickly went all the way up to 200. And still it was a coin toss if I was going to sleep or not.
I took one 40mg pill of Latuda for six days and stopped and then about 40 hrs later took one 50mg pill of Luvox, and have been taking Luvox since then for a couple of days. I said, 26 hours at first but I counted wrong.
Should I have waited longer before taking Luvox? How long before the Latuda is out of my body? I took my last pill of Latuda Tuesday, July 3rd at maybe like 11:00pm and my first pill of Luvox Friday July, 6th, around 12:00am.
And the same thing happens when i have to tell someone that i suffer from depression and anxiety and explain my symptoms(for example to a shrink,or a friend),i become so depressed,and feel so guilty and anxious and inner tennsion.i feel so messed up,i start judging myself in my head.After a while,1h,2h maybe one day i get better.
Is this thing common?is this a consequence of depression?Have you heard about this kind of stuff?
Ask your psychiatrist that. If they think you have depression they will tell you why. And you can discuss it with them. As for the medications you discussed I believe the first is Anafranil by brand name right? That is the earliest SSRI anti-depressent which are also used to treat ocd. Luvox has less side effects but is in the same class. But they can't just switch one to another in a day. You have to be titrated off one and onto another.
Slowly at first and then pretty hard today. I had hoped that the zoloft would keep the depression and anxiety away. I am seeing a therapist for CBT as well. My depression is still under control but the anxiety is bad. Shouldn't the zoloft take care of the anxiety? Also, once my body is full of adrenaline and/or cortisol or what ever the chemicals are that cause anxiety, what is the best way to get them out of my system?
First of all, who prescribed you Luvox and why that particular drug? A psychiatrist or a regular doc? As for anti-depressants, they are usually quite small so it's hard to see even a person with the most difficult problem swallowing pills would have a problem with them. There are liquid versions of most of the ssris and snris because they're very hard to stop taking and using a liquid helps taper them down very slowly. They don't taste great, but there are liquid versions.
At about the age of 18 my symptoms started to become much worse and started including panic attacks and more sever bouts of depression. At that time I was also prescribed respirdal to take with the prozac. I have been on that combination for the last 4 years, and have been relatively stable with the anxiety being some what managable for the most part. Even so I am still dissatisfied with where I am right now, as I still show very many symptoms of OCD and anxiety.
Took Viagra no problem went back on klonopin and luvox and didnt need viagra. Had another case of performance anxiety two years later and my obsessions started again. Used Viagra and then no problem.Met my wife 6 months ago again performance anxiety, took cialis and it worked until I made a decision to try celexa for two weeks and I dont know if it was my anxiety or fear or did it really kill my sex drive. Viagra or Cialis didnt work. Went back on Luvox up to 150mg and Neurontin 300mg 2x a day.
Paxil came next, and got approved for both depression and panic disorder, but has always been used for all types of anxiety. Then Luvox, which chose OCD as its "special" benefit. And so on. So while Celexa wasn't approved specifically for anxiety conditions, Lexapro, the newest model of Celexa, was. Of course, it doesn't take much, you only need 500 mildly anxious people and double blind studies and walla! FDA approval.
Hi doc.I am 21 and i see a shrink and take luvox 50 mg,abilify 10 mg and valproic acid 300 mg(orfiril is called in my country to calm me down).Since i was a child(7-8 years old) i always had this craving for sweets,chocolate,coke,candy and if my mother wouldn't give it to me i would start to get very angry and extremly frustrated, scream and throw things.Back then i wasn't depressed and didn't take any medication.
I am suffering from OCD since 9 years and I had taken various types of SSRIs (prescribed by psychiatrists) during last four years I was on a high dose of Lavox with some psychotic drugs and and Clomaphranil. These drugs cause me to have a lot of sleep , I usually sleep about 12-14 hours a day.
During these four years I had done nothing, I had not watched any movie,TV show not any game, sports and even had not participate in any type of social activity.
