Lunesta long term

Common Questions and Answers about Lunesta long term

lunesta

Avatar f tn To use very short term, possibly even skipping nights is ok. How many did he give you and for how long? Lunesta has some nasty side effects, driving and eating while sleeping, confusion. Did you try OTC sleep aids? Melatonin, valerian root, altering, sleep by nature made?
Avatar n tn Do any others take Remeron with one of the above mentioned hypnotics? Can this medication combo be continued on a long term basis? Is the 2 week at a time duration sufficient to keep from becoming tolerant to zolpiedem and Lunesta? I realize they are both in the non benzodiazapine hypotnic classification, but does anyone know if they are different enough in structure to use like this? I am just trying to get by until a new classification of sleep medication gets to market.
Avatar n tn Both Ambien and Lunesta are used to treat insomnia. However, on long term use, both have the potential of dependence / habit forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Treatment with Ambien may cause side effects like impairment of thinking or reactions. You may still feel sleepy the morning after taking the medication. In patients with liver disorder, a smaller dose of Ambien is generally prescribed. Ambien addiction is a serious problem requiring treatment.
Avatar n tn I dont know why it is making me nausea. My doc then perscribed lunesta 3mg. Has anyone tried lunesta and experienced better sleep with it? I am afraid of trying lunesta because i dont want to feel so nausea again. I didn't take any sleep med last night...didnt have a very good sleep but still i feel nausea. I need something to help me sleep without causing nausea and to help me sleep like a baby throughout the night pleaseee.
Avatar f tn I did try to research Lunesta and Addrell together, not finding anything on those 2 together. The info I find on long term Lunesta use states if the person does not have prior drug abuse (I've never had this issue) there was reason to be concerned. I was not having any side effects from them at all. Question- has anyone else had problems with Lunesta and Adderall? or heard of anyone having issues with these meds? Or a reliable study showing these results or similar.
2021910 tn?1339896686 so when I was in the Er last night they gave me Lunesta a sleeping pill to help me sleep I'm 31 w 5 d n my mom told me its not safe...is it..I mean babys fine n stuff but the hospital wouldn't give it to me if it wasent ok right ?
Avatar m tn The combinations of symptoms you are referring to specially twitching is not common long term withdrawal of opiates. I know it has to be frustrating not to know what is happening with your body, but hopefully will be something that will simply pass.
Avatar f tn hi, I been taking remeron for insomnia for 3 years, its been working fine until recently it stopped working completely, any suggestion on alternatives that can be taken long term like remeron???
Avatar n tn It can be a side effect of Ritalin (methylphenidate), Adderall (dextro/levo-amphetamine) and Lunesta (eszopiclone) and other prescription drugs or of cocaine or amphetamines. (Accordingly, it goes by the slang term "coke bugs".) Formication can also be a withdrawal symptom of weaning oneself off cocaine or amphetamine. It can also accompany alcohol withdrawal in alcoholics, along with delirium tremens.
Avatar m tn The highest available dose of Lunesta is 3mg. Recently, thought is that Lunesta, Ambien, and others in this class are very similar to benzodiazepine drugs. But I haven't read much about addiction or withdrawl from these meds. Seems like insomnia would be a given, but you could try melatonin or valerian root to combat that. Good luck either way.
Avatar f tn It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.
Avatar f tn I have taken Lunesta and that still didnt help. I tried melatonin, benadryl and Lunesta and nothing helped. Looking for the answer as well. Hand in there and good luck.
202665 tn?1248806733 Ambien is generally meant for short term use. Lunesta can be used long term. Rozerem is another good sleep aide and specifically better than either of those two because it being derived from melatonin adjusts the sleep cycle. Anti-depressents can sometimes set off mania in a person with bipolar so I'd be concerned that's what might be going on but they are sometimes needed.
Avatar m tn I'm a male, 31. I've been on 175mg trazadone and lunesta (anywhere from 1.5mg (half pill), 3mg (full pill), or 4.5mg - one and half pills). I usually do 175mg trazadone plus half pill lunesta for sleep almost every night. i've been on the sleep meds for about 2-3 months. Sometimes, i take just lunesta since I have retrograde ejaculation due to trazadone. I take these medications for sleep insommnia. They work. I also take propecia for hair loss (not sure that it's related).
Avatar n tn If you don't feel comfortable with a drug choice, you have every right to ask for an alternative medication. Do you suffer from depression as well? Most doctors tend to avoid sleep meds, as they don't work long term, but can be effective in the short term, to get you back into a nortmal sleep pattern. There are other options out there. Do some research, and maybe find other alternatives.
Avatar m tn Simvastatin 20 mg(1T QD), Diazepam 10 mg(1T TID), Opana ER 40 mg(1T BID), Atenolol 100 mg(1T QD), Lunesta 3 mg(1T HS), Cymbalta 60 mg(1C BID), Fentora 800 mcg(1T BID PRN), Fentanyl Citrate 1200 mcg(One lollipop QID PRN). He was OK for a couple of months but yesterday he started acting weird again. Slurred speech(more than usual), lack of balance, forgetfulness, etc. How can I prevent future episodes from happening? Please I need help.
Avatar m tn I have been on 80 mg. Of oxy for a year now n quit cold turkey Friday night. I had no idea what I was in for. The muscle spasms , migriane followed by vomiting. Can't sleep so tried. Final call some local abuse hotline. They were closed for mlk. Call my doc. On 4th day gave Xanax for a week and lunesta at night is this a bad idea? My wife.
Avatar m tn Not only is it very addictive and very hard to come off of after long term use,it can be done. I did it cold turkey at the same time as I was coming off of a 20+ a day Norco10/325 habit and it just intensified my withdrawal when I was tapering down to my current dose of 3 a day. Imagine if you will, all of the things that you go through while in w/d and multiply that times 10,atleast thats what I have experienced.
Avatar f tn I have been off Norco for five weeks (CT) after being on it for 10 months. I had knee replacement surgery in December. I switched to taking Lunesta about ten days ago after taking Ambien for three years. I don't know if that switch is trading one thing for another - but I guess I became much more aware of ALL drugs after a few days on this site. I took Xanax for the first two weeks after I got off the Norco and know it helped very much.
Avatar f tn Yes but there is the issue of long term side effects. As a person with advanced tardive dyskinesia I am vividly aware of this. I have a friend whose mother has Parkinson's and she is being given Seroquel as a sleeping pill and I was told even by my psychiatrist that its "the wrong medication".
462361 tn?1207858977 I was wondering if taking lunesta would help out. Ive been perscribed it for almost a year now cause ive always had problems sleeping mainly insomnia but would lunesta push any button for my past addiction? As in the percocets?? Just wondering.. seems like RLS and twitching is EVERYONES problem here =/ buhh when will it stopppppp!!!!!!
741315 tn?1232458427 Xanax is generally used short term as an anti-anxiety medication. Klonopin or another medication in the same category is safer used long term. Ambien is not meant for everyday use as a sleeping aide as it can be addictive. Lunesta or Rozerem are two better choices. Rozerem works in the same manner as Melatonin and actually adjusts the sleep cycle. Those are some ideas to speak to your psychiatrist about.
