lunesta for sleep problems

To use very short term, possibly even skipping nights is ok. How many did he give you and for how long? Lunesta has some nasty side effects, driving and eating while sleeping, confusion. Did you try OTC sleep aids? Melatonin, valerian root, altering, sleep by nature made?

I have went off of it for a few months but do not sleep. They are investigating pituitary, adrenal,thyroid problems for the reason I cant sleep. I dont even get tired ever have you ever heard of this?

I'm sure the benefit outweighed the risk. I know expectant moms who took that during their pregnancies or they'd never sleep. I believe it's a class c not positive.

How many of you struggle with sleep problems even when you seem to be medicated properly? Just sick of it here and needing to vent. I sleep so great some nights and others it is a struggle.....I am either wired, heart is palpitating, etc. and then I get anxious because I cannot sleep and know that I will be tired at work the next day. I have some xanex that helps sometimes and I have tried melatonin but nothing is great at helping me. I do not like lunesta or ambien because of side effects.

I think that might be a too high of a dose. Does anyone know what can help me sleep without anxiety? Has anyone else tried Lunesta for sleep anxiety. I have tried not sleeping with any med but end up staying up all night panicing even though i am super tired. Please help me get back to sleep so i can focus more on my life.

It's 3 weeks since I've been having a pretty serious depression, including anxiety & sleeplessness. I was put on a new antidepressant LexiPro (15 days now), xanax as needed, which I only need to "take the edge off" when Im shaky, and Lunesta to sleep. This is the 2nd time I've used Lunesta.

But everysince i was diagnosed with my condition, i have been having alot of sleep problems. I did see a sleep doctor, he said most of my insomnia is psychological and the other is because of my condition. he did recommend a sleep study after a month of therapy. he also said i might have sleep apnea, but not obstructive sleep apnea...the other kind which effects your nervous system and ur not breathing enough. He recommended breathing techniques.

I too took for years and stopped abruptly . I had poor sleep for 3 nights. headaches for 2.5 days and that was it. Nothing like benzo w/d.. You'll be fine. If your nervous you could taper to halfs with your DC blessing for a week first. Good luck.

ll add a new category of treatments called anti-depressants to the sleep tracker in the near future. Zopiclone is actually the generic name for Lunesta, so go ahead and use Lunesta (already in the tracker) to track usage of Zopiclone. We'll let you know when anti-depressants are available to track.

Are you asking for a suggestion of another med for helping you sleep?? If so, I take generic Remeron 45 mg, the generic is called mirtazapine...I have been taking it for a couple of yrs and it works every time and I am highly resistant to meds, my body gets immune to them very fast!! Hope this helps...

I have Hashimoto's and my Endo prescribed Lunesta 2 for me, I sleep better than I did without them, I still do not sleep a full 8 hrs like I used to, but sometimes I get 7, most case 6, I was not aware of any interactions with Hashi' sufferers, But if bunny235 can paste a link to where the article is, I would be interested in checking that out, I checked drugs ******* and could find no warnings for Hashi's/Lunesta.

I'm starting to think it is becoming a side effect of the lunesta. I am going to try to go a night without it and see what happens. I am afraid of the ambien because I am at home alone at night, (my husband works 3rd shift) and if I tried to cook or drive, there would be no one there to stop me.

I have been taking zoplicone for years. My doctor told me to continue all my other meds during detox from oxyneo. To be perfectly honest, they are not doing a thing! I have a Fitbit that tracks my sleep and on average I get an hour and 15 mins sleep a night. I don't even think I get that. No sleep in 11 days for me no matter what I do. I think it's just a matter of time before our brains allow us to shut down. Detox is stress and stress equals no sleep. Patience is the only cure.

One of the main reasons I want to quit is I heard a doctor on a raido talk show talk about how sleep aids like Lunesta or Ambien are good for very very short term, but its not real sleep and your not getting the proper cycle and the proper rest period on them. May be the reason Im so tired all the time. Doc doesnt seem overly concerned with my using it or stopping it.

HI, I don't sleep well either. My neuro gave me some lunesta. He said that if I don't get enough sleep, things will just get worse. For about the past yeat, I have been taking 2 Benedril before bed. I worked fairly well. Sweet Dreams!

He went to a doctor who told him he had anxiety problems and gave him some sort of medicine along with Lunesta to help him sleep (having to concentrate on breathing made it difficult to sleep too). He says that nothing is actually stressing him out. What do you think is wrong with him?

The Lunesta usually allows for 6-7 hours of continuous sleep. The initial sedating effects of the Remeron lasted anly about 2 weeks but in combination with either one of the hypnotics, it seems to be helping, now 9 months later So, the questions I have are: Do any others take Remeron with one of the above mentioned hypnotics? Can this medication combo be continued on a long term basis? Is the 2 week at a time duration sufficient to keep from becoming tolerant to zolpiedem and Lunesta?
