422425 tn?1307992990 After a biopsy I was diagnosed with interstitial nephritis. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this? Does it ever go away? I have large amounts of blood and protein in my urine and my kidney functions are decreased and have been for about 4 years already. I am scheduled with a kidney dr in a few weeks. Because it has been a year I am getting a little concerned. My DR doesn't have a lot of answers for me.
Avatar f tn I have seen online there is also such a thing as interstitial nephritis as well, but looks like that can affect the kidneys ability to filter waste and your doc is saying your kidneys are fine. You could try urologist- at least he/she could do a cystoscopy as long as you didn't have an infection at the time they set it up & take a look inside your bladder.
Avatar n tn If the symptoms persist then pls get other possibilities ruled out.The other possibilities are interstitial cystitis, interstitial nephritis, lupus, hypercalcemia, hyperthyroidism, hypopituitarism, hypoaldosteronism, hypokalemia, renal glycosuria,Addison’s disease and polycythemia.Pls consult a urologist and get these possibilities ruled out.I hope that helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar n tn I was taking Linzess and it didn't work and they offer a refund as long as you have your receipt and tell them why, etc.? Do you know if the manufacturer who makes Lubiprostone offers a refund if it doesn't work?
Avatar m tn Your cat may need some other medications to help with the stress. Stress can be implicated in a disease called interstitial nephritis or FLUTD or FUS. This disease is much more complex than just a bacterial infection of the bladder, but has similar symptoms. 3. That there is inadequate water intake. In this case there is not enough liquid in the diet to help flush out the infection. 4. That there may be stones in his bladder or crystals in his urine and that he should be on a special diet.

6249868 tn?1379820575 Hello, Renal parenchymal disease is not a single disease but a pathological state. It is caused by glomerular diseases, chronic interstitial nephritis, adult polycystic kidney disease, etc. No matter what the original cause is, renal parenchymal diseases are characterized by scarring of the kidneys and renal fibrosis. There are many factors that can cause renal parenchymal damages such as infections, toxins (including some renal toxicity medicines), abuse or improper intake of drugs, etc.
Avatar m tn Urination problems can come from a variety of reasons such as nephritis, infections, or sometimes interstitial cystitis; however, regular intake of magnesium can bring great relief to these ailments.
Avatar n tn Other minor side effects include – nausea, vomiting, anorexia, skin rash, sideroblastic anemia, pruritus, dysuria, hyperuricemia, interstitial nephritis, malaise and fever. 4. Ethambutol: Optic neuritis, red-green color blindness, peripheral neuropathy and arthralgia are some of the side effects caused by ethambutol. However after your infant is born be sure to have him/her immunized with BCG vaccine against tuberculosis. If you have any further queries do get in touch with me.
Avatar f tn Vomiting without diarrhea can be caused by a number of illnesses including urinary tract infection, interstitial nephritis, hairballs, and even anal gland impactions, among others. Going back to your vet to resolve this problem is best, of course. There are things that you can try at home until you get to the vet, such as: giving 5 mg of Pepcid twice daily prior to meals, and giving probiotics mixed in food once daily. Pepcid and a pediatric probiotic are both available over the counter.
Avatar f tn If his urine looks bloody and cloudy now he should also be treated for interstitial nephritis/FLUTD. When you took him to the vet the first time he could have been developing the problem but it was below the detection spectrum.
Avatar m tn I have been doing researches on the recipe, which handed down from my forefathers, can cure all kinds of nephritis(except Kidney Failure and Uremia because they are not reversible). The recipe is comprised of several kinds of plants and this (secret) recipe has never become published.I assure you that the mixture contains no toxic substance. This prescription is characteristic by miraculous curative effort and short course of physiotherapy (according to the state of illness).
Avatar m tn According to your test result, you may have inchoate nephritis, the remarkable urine protein and urine blood is inchoate nephritis’ important characteristic, but it cannot be diagnosed by the result of only one time of urine test, you can do urine test twice another week, and tell me about your test result, so that I can help you to get diagnosis

Avatar m tn Calcified cellular debris results in occlusion of the tubules, leading to obstructive atrophy of the nephron, nonspecific inflammation, and interstitial fibrosis. Impaired urine drainage through calcified tubules may result in areas of cortical atrophy leading to scared cortices. Functional abnormality of urine concentration is the earliest detectable renal change. This effect is related to decreased chloride transport in the ascending thick segment of the nephron.
Avatar m tn I also had acute nephritis as a young child, this means that normal pain relief medications are not available to me. I also have a permanent back injury from a police assault when I was a teen! I also suffer from a severe sciatica (approx 20 years). Due to my boxing training and all my activities being very physical, I am extremely fit, no cholesterol, blood pressure is normal, and my sugar levels are normal.
Avatar n tn I was affected by nephritis 7 years before (Due to some infection, through wound), Treatment was perfect and at perfect time. After that my urine is foamy some times (may be evening, morning like that). If i drink lot of water, then foam is not there. I have done lot of tests including blood urea, creatinin, urine albumin......a lot of tests at least twice in year. The results of all tests are normal till now. I don't have any other symptoms of kidney related problems.
Avatar m tn Our dog Kona, a 70 lb lab, was recently diagnosed with Lyme Nephritis. He initially went in for 24 hour IV fluids with a creatinine level of 5.7 and a BUN at 51. Eventually we discharged him due to costs. He is still getting an IV during the day and evening subcutaneous fluids. His values now are at a creatinine of 2.1 and BUN of 115. Energy and will has increased, but he is still not eating on his own and has diarrhea.
Avatar n tn C4 and other complements are low in lupus and high in rheumatoid arthritis and certain cancers. Decreased component activity is also seen in nephritis, cirrhosis, bacterial infections, malnutrition, hereditary angioedema, and hepatitis. Hope this helps. Do let me know if there is any thing else and keep me posted. Take care!

Avatar f tn This may be on the basis of chronic interstitial changes. Please correlate for underlying interstitial lung disease. No findings of infiltrate or pleural effusion." Needless to say I am very worried. What does this mean? My doctor sent me for a CT scan which I got this morning. No results yet. Any opinion apperciated!
