Pig If you were my patient, I would advise you to check with your insurance plan regarding coverage of gastric bypass. In many cases you must be morbidly obese (BMI 40 or higher) or obese(35-40) with other medical problems (diabetes, hypertension, etc) to qualify. If you have lost 70 pounds, you have already found the right solution, but it is possible that you have gotten bored with your diet plan and need to find another weight loss system.
Avatar m tn I am morbidly obese. My question is:I have a lot of pain (especially when touched) in what seems to be the fatty tissue, especially in the upper legs (thighs) and the upper arms. I can also feel nodule underneath the skin (not sure if in fat of facia) and if these are pressed, the pain is tremendous, often radiating all over.

15480 tn?1302529802 I was diagnosed yesterday with chronic EBV. My doctor wants me to take Adipex to help with the extreme fatigue. However, when I researched Adipex it says it is used as a weight loss drug for morbidly obese people. I am 5'6" and weigh 148 lbs. I am certainly not morbidly obese and I am very concerned after researching the side effects of this medication. Has anyone else ever taken Adipex before? Thanks for you help!
Avatar f tn Are you morbidly obese? Being morbidly obese can easily hinder the oscillometric measurement that electronic BP machines use to assess blood pressure. Otherwise, wrist monitors are poor substitutes and often read wrong. I suggest you have it done manually at your primary care doctors orrice, urgent care clinic where it is free, or your local fire dept. If you are morbidly obese, then you have far greater issues to worry about.
Avatar f tn I am morbidly obese. I am 5'7" @ 295 lbs, and 51 yrs old.
Avatar m tn Well, I do notice one thing -- no fish. The oils you're using are great, but don't have as good a profile as fish oil. Combining them might help at least some. If your hormones remain out of balance, there are natural methods of working on it if it's not an emergency time wise, but that depends on the cause of it. By the way, if you're as tall as you say and you weight what you say, you're not morbidly obese.
Avatar n tn I doubt that any doctor would support a weight loss goal of 25 lbs. per month unless you would be morbidly obese. Most of the weight you would lose would be water weight anyway, and it would come back quickly. I recently consulted with a weight loss doctor who prescribed a sensible diet (moderately low carb) and the medication Adipex. That combination was magic for me. The diet resulted in rapid weight loss, and the prescribed medication made it easier for me to follow the diet.

Avatar f tn I am very sorry sweetie but your not just overweight, your morbidly obese. My heart is breaking for you. I think the best thing to do is talk with a doctor and dietician to find out how to get you to a healthier weight. At your current weight, you are at risk for many very serious medical problems. Is there anyone in your life that can provide loving help and support? I wish you the best.

20546182 tn?1500401029 I just found out I'm pregnant. Very unplanned and I honestly thought I couldn't get pregnant. I've been having unprotected sex with this person for about 10 years. A decade later, I'm pregnant... My health is a total mess. I really wanted to start taking much better care of myself and heal before even thinking about carrying a child. My Q is, with T2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, anemia, asthma, hypertension and hypercholesterminia (misspell?)...can I even carry?

Avatar f tn Hello, I'm 24 year old female. I recently found out that I have an ovarian cyst the size of 17cm on my left ovary. Doctor said it's most likely that my whole left ovary will have to go. I'm really scared, terrified even, because I'm morbidly obese and I have to have a laparotomy to remove the cyst and I've never had any kind of surgery, ever.

Avatar n tn Yes, but then I am morbidly obese too so is hard to tell what is the real reason I can't breathe. I took echocardiagram and do NOT have MVP. I have a slight murmur at the mitral valve but nothing to be worried about. I am a real sick healthy person. LOL!
Avatar n tn ****one of those morbidly obese people who need a mobility scooter*******
Avatar f tn I have dealt with the obesity prejudices personally, and have gone from morbidly obese to normal to obese, the last because of pain issues, not caused by the weight, as my back was in decent shape when I was at my lowest weight for several years. Weight can cause problems, or add to them, but it is not the answer to everything that goes wrong with a person. If he just sees your weight, he won't look for any other underlying conditions that might be causing a "weak" spine.

Avatar f tn Are you severely overweight and weight loss surgery is the only option for you now? Are you a doctor who works with patients that are morbidly obese and you have a patient that needs this surgery but maybe they cannot afford it or the wait list is so long that you are concerned that they may not have that long to wait? We are a medical travel company that is working with one of the top weight loss surgeons in Mexico.
161596 tn?1698503553 For years, I urged him to get a sleep study, as I could hear his breathing would be interrupted with episodes of silence, as he stopped breathing for short periods of time. Otherwise, he has always been very healthy! After an endoscopy to dx gerd, the anesthetist came into the room and told him "I'm glad you told me you have an appt to get a sleep study for obstructive sleep apnea, because I can tell you definitively that you have it, and a severe case of it.
