15480 tn?1302529802 I was diagnosed yesterday with chronic EBV. My doctor wants me to take Adipex to help with the extreme fatigue. However, when I researched Adipex it says it is used as a weight loss drug for morbidly obese people. I am 5'6" and weigh 148 lbs. I am certainly not morbidly obese and I am very concerned after researching the side effects of this medication. Has anyone else ever taken Adipex before? Thanks for you help!
Avatar f tn Are you morbidly obese? Being morbidly obese can easily hinder the oscillometric measurement that electronic BP machines use to assess blood pressure. Otherwise, wrist monitors are poor substitutes and often read wrong. I suggest you have it done manually at your primary care doctors orrice, urgent care clinic where it is free, or your local fire dept. If you are morbidly obese, then you have far greater issues to worry about.
Avatar f tn women with all these complications like hypertension and gest. diabetes. I am morbidly obese and I am on my 3rd uncomplicated pregnancy. Im 36wks today. And I've only gained a total of 9lbs. My doc says that pretty darn good.
Avatar f tn I am morbidly obese. I am 5'7" @ 295 lbs, and 51 yrs old.
Avatar m tn Well, I do notice one thing -- no fish. The oils you're using are great, but don't have as good a profile as fish oil. Combining them might help at least some. If your hormones remain out of balance, there are natural methods of working on it if it's not an emergency time wise, but that depends on the cause of it. By the way, if you're as tall as you say and you weight what you say, you're not morbidly obese.
Avatar n tn I doubt that any doctor would support a weight loss goal of 25 lbs. per month unless you would be morbidly obese. Most of the weight you would lose would be water weight anyway, and it would come back quickly. I recently consulted with a weight loss doctor who prescribed a sensible diet (moderately low carb) and the medication Adipex. That combination was magic for me. The diet resulted in rapid weight loss, and the prescribed medication made it easier for me to follow the diet.
Business woman2 Hi Gemini. I am not morbidly obese now, and I never have been. But, I was close. At one time I weighed 240lbs. I was still gaining weight weekly and that depressed me, and then I would eat, again. Loosing weight isn't easy, and for those (myself included) who are addicted to food, it is much tougher. What has worked for me, consistently, is logging EVERYTHING you eat. Everything. It is a pain. It is time consuming. It is tedious. It is boring.
Avatar f tn 140-160 pounds is overweight, 170-220 is obese and anything beyond that is morbidly/extreme obese.
Avatar m tn I am morbidly obese. My question is:I have a lot of pain (especially when touched) in what seems to be the fatty tissue, especially in the upper legs (thighs) and the upper arms. I can also feel nodule underneath the skin (not sure if in fat of facia) and if these are pressed, the pain is tremendous, often radiating all over.
Avatar f tn i have been a diabetic for about 8 years and i am what they call morbidly obese i have lost over 50 pounds over the last 3 years and have kept it off but because i fractured my pelvis in a car crash in 88 i can not walk for any distance can not stand for long and i can't even lay on my back without being in pain so most exercising is out. i am on insulin the novolog 70/30 mix i was taking metformin 1000mg twice a day my doctor took me off that a couple weeks ago. i now take 7.
1666903 tn?1383332156 Regional anesthesia also would be difficult with a higher risk of unpredictability and more frequency of a failed spinal anesthesia. A high-risk consent would be required if you are morbidly obese or have other chronic diseases etc. discuss these with your anesthesiologist and discuss the prognosis and predicted surgical outcome with the neurosurgeon. You could also seek inputs on oxygen- ozone therapy, which is partially interventional. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn I am very sorry sweetie but your not just overweight, your morbidly obese. My heart is breaking for you. I think the best thing to do is talk with a doctor and dietician to find out how to get you to a healthier weight. At your current weight, you are at risk for many very serious medical problems. Is there anyone in your life that can provide loving help and support? I wish you the best.
Avatar n tn Since then (a cople of weeks) I have had the same pain off and on. I am morbidly obese but have recently lost 25 pounds and am doing a version of a low carb diet. Any idea what it could be? Thanks for any help.
Avatar f tn Hi im lui im just new here. I know im morbidly obese 237lbs and I know i need help and motivation as I really cant keep up with a diet program but i knew i needed it very badly..
20546182 tn?1500401029 I just found out I'm pregnant. Very unplanned and I honestly thought I couldn't get pregnant. I've been having unprotected sex with this person for about 10 years. A decade later, I'm pregnant... My health is a total mess. I really wanted to start taking much better care of myself and heal before even thinking about carrying a child. My Q is, with T2 diabetes, hypothyroidism, anemia, asthma, hypertension and hypercholesterminia (misspell?)...can I even carry?
2028721 tn?1356682003 I am 20 years old. I used to be morbidly obese at 5'10 and 354 lbs. I am now 177lbs. I feel bad now. When Im in a place with girls I have a kind of "panic attack" cause I feel like they will laugh. I cant talk to guys either. Its getting pretty bad where its tough to even go to work or school what can I do?
Avatar f tn I often feel quite neurotic about my physical health but I have seen a number of programs on super morbidly obese people and I feel somewhat reassured that it takes a fair bit of neglect and abuse to cause significant damage and that most damage can be reversed with good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle. Whether you have or haven't caused damaged (and the doctor says you haven't) you can't undo the past. You can only work with what you have right now.
Avatar n tn ****one of those morbidly obese people who need a mobility scooter*******
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm 24 year old female. I recently found out that I have an ovarian cyst the size of 17cm on my left ovary. Doctor said it's most likely that my whole left ovary will have to go. I'm really scared, terrified even, because I'm morbidly obese and I have to have a laparotomy to remove the cyst and I've never had any kind of surgery, ever.
Avatar n tn Yes, but then I am morbidly obese too so is hard to tell what is the real reason I can't breathe. I took echocardiagram and do NOT have MVP. I have a slight murmur at the mitral valve but nothing to be worried about. I am a real sick healthy person. LOL!
Avatar f tn However, I am very confused because my husband weighs 420 pounds and falls in to the morbidly obese category. Everything I have read says that hyperthyroidism and Grave's Disease causes unintentional weight loss. How is this possible? His blood test results are TSH - 0.008 UIU/ML, Total T3 - 79.67 NG/DL, and his Free T4 is 1.81 NG/DL. I also read for a diagnosis of hyperthyroidism, one or both the T3 or T4 must be high.
Avatar f tn I have dealt with the obesity prejudices personally, and have gone from morbidly obese to normal to obese, the last because of pain issues, not caused by the weight, as my back was in decent shape when I was at my lowest weight for several years. Weight can cause problems, or add to them, but it is not the answer to everything that goes wrong with a person. If he just sees your weight, he won't look for any other underlying conditions that might be causing a "weak" spine.
Avatar n tn Post menopause, I am 70 years old, morbidly obese and extremely inactive, I have A Lot Of clear almost odorless vaginal fluid pouring from me, feels like the amount of water breaking from when I had children, it happens almost daily and I am bleeding like a normal period 2-3 times a year
Avatar n tn I am obese (morbidly?) with a BMI of 41 and I am insulin resistant. I had my blood work done today, which is a full week (or 6.5 days) post-trigger (subcutaneous Ovidrel). Also, the REI saw two corpus luteum on one ovary. E2 was 244 and P4 was 2. The REI nurse said that the numbers meant I never had any eggs, but why is my E2 so high? Is it possible that I didn’t ovulate? Might I still ovulate? Or, should I start looking at donor eggs? Any thoughts?
