lovenox and c section

I am on Lovenox (Xaparin) since early in my pregnancy. Now my doctor wants to perform a c-section at week 37 without giving me much of a medical explanation. I feel strongly about a natural delivery. Does any one had a similar experience?

ll tell you to stop taking Lovenox 24 hours prior to c-section and if not, as there is a risk to hemorrage with an epidural, if you do need an emergency c-section or a c-section before the 24-hour timeframe of being off Lovenox, they advised me that I'd be put under general anesthesia.

t personally dealt with it but a close friend had to give herself blood thinner shots in her belly throughout her whole pregnancy. Her doctor decided that a scheduled c-section was the best choice for her so that they could be in control of the situation. She hated it but she did want she had to do for the pregnancy.

Wow, that is one heck of a story! I had no underlying disorders and the clots were attributed to the bed rest and c-section. I had a minimum of 3 clots (they stopped looking after finding 3 in each vein so they said there could have been more) each of the three main veins down the back of your calf...I had no issues after that, and so I am glad you see you are doing okay with your pregnancy. My biggest fear is that there would be complications and I will have been on a blood thinner....

I had a c section 7 years ago and I feel like things have changed. Has anyone had one recently? I heard they call you now when they have a bed free. How does that work? My husband and I live an hour away from hospital. Does things change having a c section at 35/36 weeks.

Have been atenolol 25mg daily since beginning of 2nd trimester. Plan to have c-section at 37 weeks due previous t incision of uterus and post op PE, also on Lovenox 40mg SQ daily. I am very concerned if I should stop taking atenolol.

I asked with my last pregnancy and since it had been 5 years since my last c-section, they still refused. Now my daughter will only be 20 months when I have this baby and there is no way they will let me have a natural childbirth. With both my daughters I went into labor before time and with my last c-section I thought they were going to let me have a natural birth because when I got to the hospital I was already 6-7 cm but the doctor said he couldn't let me have a vbac.

I know i will have to stop taking it before my C-section. Does anyone know when usually they ask you to stop it. I am at 34 weeks and go back at 35 weeks to my Dr. and that is when I will run out of my shots. However he has not scheduled my C-section until 39 weeks.

Is it safe to use Lovenox and Ibuprofen at the same time? What kind of side effects should I expect if I do so? (I do not experience any pain). 2. Shall I be concerned about permanent implications (ie to kidney, liver etc) of using blood thinner? 3. After 10 days (when I stop the Lovenox), will I need a blood test? 4. How long would it normally take for such an injury to heal?

Only 10 w 6d. On reglan and over the first trimester. Then feel guilty for even thinking that.

I have one of the two factor V leiden genes. With my first pregnancy, I took blood thinners for 6 weeks subsequent to my c-section. I'm due in 7 weeks, and that is what my OB plans to do again. Did you take blood thinners during your pregnancy? I am terrified of getting a blood clot after my c-section this time.

My 1st was a c section and honestly it wasnt that bad. I was prepared for the worst because of all the stories id heard but honestly was fine. Just stay on top of the meds. Dont try to skip a dose because u will defintely feel the pain. I was able ti care for my daughter but i was limited. I had family who were amazing and helped me through it all. They woupd bring baby to me so i can care for her and bond with her.

m going to have this little girl earlier than expected. We discussed my section and the doctor wants me off all lovenox/heparin for at least a week before he does the surgery. Since i went into labor with my daughter at 39 weeks he thinks i'll go earlier than that with this one. So he is giving me an amnio at 37.5 weeks to see if her lungs are developed - if so he said he will deliver her between 37.5 and 38 weeks. That means Christmas baby for me!!!

You will be fine I have my son July 18 2012 c section and found out Nov 10th 2012 I was pregnant again with my daughter who was a born July 10 2013 c section again I'm now due in Feb 2015 with another boy and getting my tubes tied lol you will be fine busy but fine lol

my first pregnancy with this dr. and taking Lovenox for the past 15 days.....Had second sonogram yesterday and saw fetal pole, yolk sac and heartbeat!!! I was so excited, I was on cloud nine all day...until two hours ago when I heard my latest #'s.....already spoke to dr. he said not to worry and go for blood test Mon. He did tell me originally that the minute I think I;m pregnant I should start the Lovenox. I started it when my levels were only42!!! Good luck to you.

my brother is 37 just got out hospital again 3 daysago with what they call tia (mini strokes) just tonight he noticed 5 bruises around his waist section,there pretty big and dark. could you give me any clue to what this is?these come up out of nowhere tonight.

Do you really get 4 days?? I have my c-section on Wed and I think will be released on Friday my dr. said..I will re-check but I NEED THE BREAK! That sux about the insurance is it expensive for a visit?

I've never been on Lovenox...but am a nurse and give the injections all the time......You may have some spotting only b/c it's a blood thinner...but I'm not sure that it would be unsafe to have some spotting...as long as your cervix is in good shape.....

Anyone been on lovenox and had brown spotting? With my daughter i did not go on lovenox until 11 weeks and i never had an internal after that. I'm assuming this is all stemming from the internal, the pap, etc. Any help would be appreciated.

just out of curiosity.... anyone use Lovenox with their ivf/fet cycle? And if so, when did you start the injections? My ER wants me to start the injections around O date (we are doing FET cycle). My question is.... wouldn't it be better to start sooner??? Wouldn't blood clots have already formed in the uterine lining by then? Or does the lining start to grow around O date? (I know I know... you would think I would know that part being a 4th time IVF/FET patient...

Yet, this is the only pregnancy that continued past the first trimester and this time I was on Lovenox from day 1. The last two times, they wanted to wait and see a heartbeat before starting the blood thinners. I'm now 31 weeks and will continue Lovenox until I get a little closer to delivery, then switch to heparin, since it has a shorter half life and they don't want you to be on blood thinners the day of delivery.

On 12/1 I had a complete metabolic profile drawn for a routine endocrinology follow up and LFTs then were ALT 17 and AST 18. The Sectral and Lovenox were initiated before my preop labs on 1/29, which showed LFTs elevated (ALT 120, AST 59). I am concerned that the Sectral has been toxic to my liver and want to stop the medication now. I will be having labs repeated on 2/13, and will see the gastroenterologist again on 1/21.

I only have one gene positive and also will be on heparin during pregnancy. I had the third IVF last year and was taking the heparin but m/c. So i don't know if that gene it has to do anything with the m/c. Every doctor is different in the opinion for the MTHFR.

Now I have gotten a surprise BFP and my doc is talking about Lovenox (low dose). Maternal fetal medicine says NO WAY its too risky without having a diagnosed blood clotting disorder, but my OB and RE are willing to put me on it. I'm concerned about the risks (to myself, I know it won't affect the baby). Is it all that risky? Could it help in my situation? I dont know what else to do but really want to have more kids!

t argue or comment on your doctors opinion on the necessity of taking it while also on Lovenox and I definitely agree that Lovenox and Folgard are MUCH more important rather then just the aspirin, but if he is of the opinion that they do two different things and you are not taking the aspirin to cover off the missing 12 hours, according to my hematologist, taking only one dose of Lovenox per day wasn't covering me off all day (which is where I obtained the information that it is short lived

I had a c-section at 37wks1day. 09/29/09 my due date was 10/19/09 Baby was fine, apgar was 9/9. She had no breathing issues. Weighed 5lbs12.5oz, safer out than in was my ob's opinion due to my medical challenges. I do believe we have had a tougher time breastfeeding because she was so early (I'm sure you'll be fine) and her mouth was so small so I don't think my milk came in properly.
