Avatar f tn About a year ago i was fixi g my sons tablet, and the screen cracked while i was working on it. I felt something strike my eye, and felt it as i closed my eye. There was substantial pain. I went to a emercency medical place, they washed my eye, and said i had a corneal scratch. Said if it bothered me still in a couple days, to see an eye Dr. 3 days of torture went by and i sought out an eye Dr. He did not find any foreign object, but said i was having an allergic reaction and put me on alrex.
Avatar n tn Being fair-skinned with blue eyes, I've always had an issue with redness, but have been able to control it with Bausch & Lomb Opcon eye drops. However, a couple of years ago it got to the point where that wasn't working any more, so I went to an ophthalmologist in Orlando who examined me and said there was nothing wrong.
Avatar n tn I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure. Can a kind ophthalmologist assure me this is alright? Thanks.
Avatar n tn then what else will work? the eye condition is deteriorating day by by day n im worried sick. WHICH DROPS SHOULD I USE?
Avatar m tn Lotemax is the brand name of the drug loteprednol. It is a steroid anti-inflammatory like Pred Forte and likely is to be used in place of Pred Forte (or the other way around). You would need to ask your doctor to be sure. "Lotepred" on the label must refer to the generic name of loteprenol. The brand name of Ketorolac, which is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory, is Acular. So, nothing you have replaces the Ketorolac. Sorry. Maybe your doctor could give you a sample. P.S.
Avatar f tn I'm told by my parents that the doctors said my tear ducts never fully opened as a kid. Not sure if that helps or not seeing as I've never experienced these issues before. Is it possible for swelling or mucous build-up due to allergies to cause the partial blockage? If I'm not mistaken, I believe my doc said the lotemax would relieve swelling, which may be why the problem went away only while taking it, but the lastacaft doesn't have much effect?
Avatar n tn She says she had been told that this medication with a its low dose does not contribute to cataracts, however, she is not so sure now. What I am reading on potential side effects is suggesting that Lotemax may cause cataracts. I would suggest you stop using the drops now.
Avatar m tn Is zylet cortiosteriod/antibiotic a good alternative to Lotemax + asasite. Asasite burns a lot and is very uncomfortable twice a day to use.
Avatar f tn Thank you for your prompt response. I've taken Lotemax before, but not in combination with the Cyclosporin...can't hurt to add it to the regime if it will decrease the burning. I'm a nurse practitioner and really have read about everything I can get my hands on about SLK. What do you think about the resection surgery?
Avatar m tn I have been taking Lotemax for a few months. My doctor said as long as my IOP remains low I can take this for years. If I develop a cataract from this and have to have surgery will cataract continue to comeback if I continue taking Lotemax?
Avatar m tn I mentioned is this the steriod as 3 days ago they were 24 and 26! He replied Lotemax is not known to raise pressures and I must continue and he also prescribed me Timolol. I am on Lotemax for 3 weeks (3 times 1st week, Twice 2nd week, Once 3rd week). I have tried to talk to the docs about any damage I might have occurred with pressures of 58 as for how long could they have been that high! But they do not reply.
Avatar f tn It seems to be very slowly detaching with the use of Lotemax and Nevanac eye drops, with a small section yet to go. Today I experienced a sharp pain in my left eye while reaching for something, then a couple minutes of tears flowing. I've experienced that pain (tho not as sharp) a couple of times during this period. Felt like an eyelash in the eye, but there was nothing visible in my eye. bWhat are the possible causes? Could it be the membrane separating?
Avatar m tn I am not an expert on the cornea. I don't think you have to use steroids for ever. Dr. O.
1958686 tn?1468782903 No that is not normal and I would suggest you try and contact your surgeon today and speak with him/her or whoever is on call and at least get in tomorrow for them to examine your eye as this is not typical and might indicate a complication.
Avatar n tn After taking restasis for over a year and my dry eyes was not getting better the Dr. gave me lotemax but said only use that. Now after using it for 2 months only, he said I shouldn't have stopped the restasis. Now I am really annoyed.....have I lost what improvement I may have gained with the restasis having stopped it for two months? Should I be seeing a opthomologist rather than a Dr. of Optometry???
Avatar n tn Lotemax is a steroid. You should get the instructions from the MD that prescribed them.
Avatar n tn After the infection was over ,There was no pain or redness in the eye but vision was little fuzzy as compare to my right eye, I went to Opthamologist and she put me on Lotemax drops for 7 days, I used drops and went back after a week and she said, inflammation is still there and she put me on Prednisone 40 mg TABLETS for 4 days with Lotemax eye drops every one hour. I am really worried as there are lot of side effects of Prednisone, This is my second day on Prednisone and so far i am good.
Avatar n tn help!!!! i have had episcleritis on and off for 10 years. In the past 3 years it has gotten so bad. My eyes constantly stay red. I am seeing a rhematologist, but he just seems to shove medicine down my throat. I have had all blood work done, I don't have any rhematology diseases like lupus or RA. The only thing that works to clear it up is high doeses of prednsone. Once I am weined off, it flares right back up.
Avatar n tn Well, I am in the same situation, going on my second month. I am not allergic to any foods, pollen, etc. I was allergic to something in the 3 different drops that were given in my first eye exam ever. Anybody have any idea what the culprit is? My face was swollen and tingly, my eyelids were extremely swollen. That is better, but I am left with the other symptoms of tearing and itching. The Dr. prescribed steroid drops, Alrex, that have a bunch of other stuff in them, including a preservative.
Avatar f tn For seven months I have had redness on my left eye, right eye completely unaffected. I was initially diagnosed with an eye infection and blepharitis. Also on my inner lower eyelid of that eye, I have a stye. It's small, but it's yellow and has not drained. It has existed the entire time. Going back to the initial diagnosis of infection--that having been treated, the redness didn't go away. I have been given the gamut of eye drops to make the redness go away. 1.
Avatar m tn My eye doctor told me I had inflammation due to dry eyes and put me on Lotemax for 2 weeks (1 drop in the morning and 1 drop at night) I was wondering if it’s safe to use for 2 weeks without any problems?
Avatar f tn Read this article I wrote carefully: http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/index/233488?page=7&personal_page_id=5373502&sort_by=date Both my wife and I have moderately severe dry eyes. Both of us are on restasis with complete success. She for 6-7 years and me for one and a half year. IT WILL TAKE 6 MONTHS BEFORE YOU SEE THE FULL BENEFITS OF RESTASIS SO DON'T STOP THEM. Restasis eye drops does not cause cancer if it did neither my wife or I would be taking them.
Avatar n tn Hello Doctor I got GPC on my left eye when I overused my contacts and I was on Lotemax for about 2 months, the bumps went away but I still have problems on my left eye. its usually redder than my right eye and my upper eyelid gets itchy and swollen randomly time to time, I tried Allaway but it didn't help, I also use a lot of Artificial tears and Gels so I'm sure its not from dryness.

I have kept a juournal for 6 months and stress form ilness ex: UTI and low humidity makes it go wild. I feel like I just can't handle this horrible pain much longer. My opthalmologist just gave me Lotemax reluctantly because of glaucoma. Is this rosacea suppose to be this paiful? I take Doxy daily, Travatan, erythromycin eye ointment. I am just at my wits end. Any help would be appreciated.
