lotemax

Avatar m tn I'm on Lotemax / Pred Forte and also on Ketorolac (generic brand of a perscription that I forget) which is an anti-inflamatory. I have access to Lotepred; is that the same as the Ketorolac, (anti-inflamatory)? Or, is Lotepred the same as Zymar (anti-biotic)? I'm trying to avoid renewing my perscription of Ketorolac for 8 more days.
Avatar m tn My pressures range naturally between 20 and 26. I was then asked to go back on the steriod eye drop Lotemax which I was very worried about as the steriod eye drop Maxidex had caused my pressures in less than a week to rise to 58! But they said I had to so I started Lotemax and Iopidine. I took myself back to the hospital 3 days later as I felt increased pain and my pressures were rechecked at 30 and 36. I mentioned is this the steriod as 3 days ago they were 24 and 26!
Avatar n tn im a 19 year old female. i have shown my condition to 3 doctyors and have taken different eye drops begining with VIGAMOX and more recently ZEDATIN and FML forte. my left eye appears smaller than the right eye, it is very red in the lower part of the eye as well as in the sides. these symptoms are present in the left eye as well but are not as severe. i also experience itching and irritation in both eyes from time to time. SHOULD I START LOTEMAX? will it be effective?
Avatar n tn My doctor said i would have to stop using Tobradex as the steroid has caused the raised eye pressure and prescribed instead Lotemax and Cravit to be used 6 times a day and Azarga 2 times a day. Upon reading, i just realised that Lotemax also contained steroid, so why is it given to me then? I have asked her and she said Lotemax rarely cause raise eye pressure. I am just not sure. Can a kind ophthalmologist assure me this is alright? Thanks.
184420 tn?1326739808 Have you been 2 an eye Dr?I had the same problem and the eye dr gave me restasis and Lotemax. Restasis takes about 3 months of use before it actually works, thats where the Lotemax kicks in-it is a steroid that helps the Restasis get to work faster. No more problems for me.Chronic Dry Eyes will do this to you.I was miserable with mine.
Avatar f tn It was my right eye only and it was constant and bad enough that it was constantly frustrating and hard to make it through a day. I saw my ophthalmologist who told me it was allergies and gave me lastacaft. I had bad eye allergies as a kid but they were always itchy never watery. Anyway, the drops worked and the issue was gone. After a few months I stopped the drops to see if the allergies were gone, and I was fine for a few months. In August I was on a work trip and it started up again.
Avatar f tn It seems to be very slowly detaching with the use of Lotemax and Nevanac eye drops, with a small section yet to go. Today I experienced a sharp pain in my left eye while reaching for something, then a couple minutes of tears flowing. I've experienced that pain (tho not as sharp) a couple of times during this period. Felt like an eyelash in the eye, but there was nothing visible in my eye. bWhat are the possible causes? Could it be the membrane separating?
Avatar n tn At 6 days post-op I got an eye infection in my right eye and then my left eye a few days later. I had been prescribed Pred Forte in pretty frequent doses (everyday 5 times a day) immediately following the Lasik procedure. I went to a different doctor for the infection (I was traveling) and he told me the Pred Fotre doses seemed excessive and could have caused my infection. I went off Pred Forte for 2 weeks and now my Lasik Dr has prescribed I go back on them for the next 4 weeks!
Avatar m tn My eye doctor told me I had inflammation due to dry eyes and put me on Lotemax for 2 weeks (1 drop in the morning and 1 drop at night) I was wondering if it’s safe to use for 2 weeks without any problems?
Avatar n tn After the infection was over ,There was no pain or redness in the eye but vision was little fuzzy as compare to my right eye, I went to Opthamologist and she put me on Lotemax drops for 7 days, I used drops and went back after a week and she said, inflammation is still there and she put me on Prednisone 40 mg TABLETS for 4 days with Lotemax eye drops every one hour. I am really worried as there are lot of side effects of Prednisone, This is my second day on Prednisone and so far i am good.
Avatar f tn Antibiotics, Lotemax drops, Lotemax gel, Blink lubricating drops, Now; Refresh PM gel, Systane Ultra lubricating drops and Restasis. Optimologist prescribed Restasis 6 weeks ago. Still not sure why eyes are red all of the time. Suggested allergy testing, which I have scheduled now. Optomologist says that he still isn't sure what is going on and wants to put plugs in my eyes.
Avatar n tn He mentioned that I had a lot of protein build up on my contacts and did a stain and he said I had dry eye. He prescribed Lotemax .05 as a first step therapy. Being fearful of steriods, he said that this is a mild steriod and hasn't had anyone have any problems with it. He said it's completely safe. Well, one month later, he informs me that I have cataracts (posterior subcapsular cataracts) and that they are a .5 on a scale of 1-4.
Avatar n tn t working any more, so I went to an ophthalmologist in Orlando who examined me and said there was nothing wrong. I was prescribed Lotemax drops to use in conjunction with Opcon A, and this worked for a while, but after a year or so it happened again, so I went to another ophthalmologist in Phoenix where I now live. He also found nothing wrong and gave me the same prescription for Lotemax.
1958686 tn?1468782903 No that is not normal and I would suggest you try and contact your surgeon today and speak with him/her or whoever is on call and at least get in tomorrow for them to examine your eye as this is not typical and might indicate a complication.
Avatar n tn Lotemax is a steroid. You should get the instructions from the MD that prescribed them.
Avatar f tn I sought a second opinion, and was told they could not find any foreign object, but my eye was in distress and dry, so i was told to contunue lotemax, and use gel drops. Weeks go by and still no relief, i still have pain(pinching/peircing sensation above eye, and general all over eye discomfort). I stop taking lotemax on suggestion of EMT neighbor. Eye calms down and now just have piercing/pinching pain only. I go see another Dr. He listens to story, looks at eye, puts me on Prednisone.
Avatar f tn I've been hearing that castor oil can get rid of eye redness and dryness, by instilling a drop of castor oil in each eye. I was wondering if this was true, and rather if it were a safe method?
Avatar n tn Are steroids such as Maxitrol or Tobradex *supposed* to help with eye burning caused by dry eye or can it make your symptoms worse? I'm dealing with allergic conjunctivitis (again!) and dealing with burning eyes. thanks!
Avatar m tn ve had a consistently red left eye upon waking. The doctor prescribed Lotemax drops, four times a day (to shrink the redness I assume) and asked that I see him in two weeks. However, the flashlight I used to check my eyes was a 100 lumen Lenser LED (just and LED, no laser involved). I held it pretty close to both eye balls looking at the white parts next to the retina (sinus side on each eye).
Avatar f tn Hi, I've never used this website before, but I'm hoping someone can help me. In early January (2016) I noticed redness in one section of my eye and assumed it was stress related. A few weeks later, the redness was still there and was getting brighter and more noticeable, so I went to an opthamologist. He diagnosed me with Episcleritis and told me it would go away with taking 8-12 Advil a day. I tried that for around three to four weeks and saw no improvement.
Avatar m tn I went to my eye doctors office as a work in and diagnosed with concretions and dry eye. This doctor prescribed Lotemax, Restasis and told me I had chronic inflammation. He didn't check my pressure for glaucoma I didn't realize it until I went for my 6 week follow up and my pressure was 25 last year it was 14 and 16 and field tests looked good. So I may have drug induced glaucoma due to my family having it.
Avatar m tn My eye doctor told me I had inflammation due to dry eyes and put me on Lotemax for 2 weeks (1 drop in the morning and 1 drop at night) I was wondering if it’s safe to use for 2 weeks without any problems?
Avatar m tn After a week of using the prescribed eye drops (Vigamox, Lotemax, Tobradex) it went away. The optometrist said the bacteria was gone and so I started wearing contacts after a day's rest. Within a day of getting off the medicated drops, there was a pink blur in my left eye. I continued using the medication thinking it was pink eye again. It worked for a week but now my eye is quite veiny. The doctor also had said that my eyes were very dry.
Avatar n tn the surgeon said that the cornea looks ok, and he asked to stop the drops he was using, and to recheck the presure in a week,
Avatar f tn I am seeing very hazy in my left eye and at night there are halo and everything looks like fog. There pressure and inflammation has not gone down after almost a werk and a half if predisone drops 6 times a day. I was checked for infectious diseases and nothing, tb negative, chest xray nothing but my vision is getting worse. Has this happened to anyone before?
Avatar n tn I have read that prescription drops such as Lotemax can help eye redness and inflammation. Will these drops help me in my situatuation? I have an apt. with an eye doctor this upcoming tuesday, should I ask him about Lotemax? Also, is it possible my eyes can be like this permanently? Is it possible that there is no treatment for my condition and that my eyes will not be able to return to normal?
Avatar n tn They then put 4 silcon plugs (upper and lower both eyes) and started me on lotemax drops twice daily, lotemax ointment at bedtime , xiidra twice daily and oasis tears four times a day and as needed. Am i on the right path? My eyes still burn when I use the computer and my left eye (has residual myopia) is constantly heavy, I feel like I need to close it or squeeze it shut really hard.
Avatar f tn m seeing an ophthalmologist today, taking my red eye and host of drops and my medical history! quasibroken, thanks for your response. I doubt that my problem is similar to yours. I do a lot of reading, but TV is not on my radar (I might watch 2 hrs a week?) and I don't own a Smartphone, just a standard model that I use if I'm out and about. I hate cell phones, and texting isn't something I particularly want to do either. I'd much rather talk to someone in person!
