Anyone else get a pulse awareness like this? Its not painful...Im currently taking 100mg losartan/hctz25mg for high blood pressure its currently stays around 130/75....Im active but this will happen even when im not doing much....Its very bothering. I can feel my pulse all over now at times...ive had a heart echo(had small leaky valve) and head mri about 7 months ago they both were normal....can anyone please help me to why this is going on?
Hello~I am 53 years old I have been diagnosed with gout even though a blood test for uric acid came out negative. I have had terrible inflammation in my metatarsal phalangeal joint and the smaller joint closer to the tip of my big toe. I have had a cortisone shot in each. I don't drink, eat shellfish and have a mostly plant based diet. I do have hypertension however and am terrified that maybe I have hurt my kidneys because I take the lowest dose of hypertension medicine.
I've had GOUT for 7 yrs with attacks every 6 months until last year. Started with 100mg allopurnol last summer. All was quite. Dec had a serious attack and after 1-month of trying Indomethecine then Prednisone I received a cortozone shot and allopurnol was increased to 400mg. Uric acid is now down to 4.6 from a high of 6.9 in Dec.
But you are describing hypersensitivity. Losartan is associated for some with tremor. I would wonder if the sound issue is not related to a bit of anxiety. I'm not really seeing anything in the literature to support what you describe with retards to sound being louder but sensory experiences can be affected whenever our nervous system is not regulated. Please check in with your doctor and let us know what they say.
His averaged blood pressure is 146/80. He was placed on losartan potassium (50 mg) for 8 days but there is no change to his averaged blood pressure. Would you advice him continuing losartan or seek new drugs? Many thanks.

I have been experiencing a low heart rate for as long as I can remember recording it. It falls in the lines of 40s-60s resting usually below 60's. i have been experiencing frequent heart palpitations(skipping beats) when in resting and working out sometime. Should I be concerned? Will I have to have a pacemaker? I do get dizzy sometimes, I also have hypertension my Bp runs in the 140's consistently, diastolic usually normal 70-80 usually.
I was on losartan for a few months. I don't think that my bp was consistenlty high. I think what was going on was that it was very up and down and it was making me feel pretty bad. But losartan which is a third line for bp was the first thing that they put me on. And I don't think my bp was that bad. I have had elevated renin/aldosterone studies and low potassium in the past.
I have been on Losartan for approximately eight months come here recently I have found it very difficult to swallow my food and seems like he gets caught in my esophagus, yesterday at two different Meals I began to choke on my food I had to drink several glasses of water in order to get my food to go down with no issues. Could this be a side effect of Losartan?
I am currently on Lisinopril to keep my BP down (I have Cardiomyopathy after going into CHF from a virus that went to my heart). I have had a cough which is a side effect of Lisinopril. My doctor just gave me a RX for Losartan but this med is more expensive by quite a bit. I haven't had any other problems with Lisinopril besides the cough and I am scared to change meds and take the chance of worse side effects.
I'm light headed, vision narrows, anxiety when driving beyond 45mph. Doesn't happen when i'm a passenger. I have to slow down when it occurs,sometimes hitting the breaks nervously. Feels like im gonna pass out. Im on losartan for high blood pressure. Dr's have done blood work, eye doctor didnt see anything wrong, sugar levels are in normal range. I dont have to be thinking about any stressful things for it to happen. Any suggestions?
Thank you so much for responding. Losartan is an angiotensin II receptor antagonist drug. I've learned that most of antihypertensive drugs can cause cough, cough that is so irritating, embarrassing and seems like you're either having pneumonia or tb. There is no turning back for me now that I am taking Tb and anti-fungal drugs. At least, if I indeed have tb, my family gets protected. I stopped taking losartan today and will take a calcium blocker or ace inhibitor instead.
