Hi everyone, I have take a PEP treatment for 25 days, which included Lopinavir&Ritrnonavir & Truvada.
I have had diarrhea, anxiety, sleepless nights, depression, numbness in hands and legs, while using these
medications. Its been a week i stopped the medication and all my HIV tests have been negative so far.
Treatment with Flavocoxid or ETV or with drugs combination started 3 hours after transfection and was renewed every other day for 5 days. Total HBV replicative intermediates, viral transcripts and cccDNA levels were evaluated in untreated and treated HepG2 cells by quantitative real-time PCR, Southern and Northern blots experiments. To analyse the epigenetic modulation of HBV cccDNA the cccDNA-ChIP assay was applied to untreated and treated cells.
Has anyone read the news that came out yesterday about hpv treatment with the Lopinavir drug?
It shows some promising results so I'd like to get anyone's take on this.
This study has to do with an HIV retroviral medication, if used on HPV patients, it might cure them. The drug is already produced, called lopinavir, however we need to make a topical version that is more potent:

You might also want to look into a antiviral drug recently produced by MIT called DRACO. It sounds very promising but needs to be tested on actual humans.
1 - would PEP be effective even if the source has a high viral load?
2 - After the 28 days, can I drink alcohol?

So, I am at the 15th day of my pep regime and have been strictly adhering to the program till today. I have been taking lopinavir ritonavir along with tenofovir. I am taking 2pills twice for the first one and one pill once a day for tenofovir. Today my bottle of rito/lopi finished after I took my first dose. I went to the doc clinic which was closed and he says i can only get the meds tomorrow.
11,12am), I take hiv block drugs from doctor, these drugs are Tenofovir Disoproxil Fumarate Tablets , Aluvia (Lopinavir and Ritonavir Tablets) and Lamivudine Tablets. I have take these drugs for 28 days (until 2013.10.8),at 2013.10.9(1 day after taking drugs) , I have take a HIV Duo or Combo (4th generation) test and the result is negative .
so, I want to know
1. Could these drugs delay the hiv window period , so that the combo tese was not correct?
2.
1-My partner tested Negative(Antigen/ Antibody) on 22 days post exposure
2-Thinking that i might be developing facial Lipodystrophy (slight facial fat loss under cheek bones). I cant tell if my face was like this before the treatment or it is just an illusion.
What can i do to really know if i developed some lipodystrophy ? any test u can advise about?

I read - sometimes laugh. Simvastatin, vitamin D, which the Chinese poeben, mythical new drugs, masturbation with measurements of the level of HBsAg, and other nonsense....
What is my overall risk of acquiring HIV, taking in consideration all that I have described above?.

You say it's a bit tricky to get the "intermediates" right. Since posting I located an old friend out of town(who is a D.D. but no longer practicing) and he told me over the phone several things: 1) he never heard of "intermediates" for the type of denture replacement I described. I had a functioning set of dentures which were there to be used for control prior to the surgery - they were not.
It is probable that these cells could support viral replication because hepatitis B virus DNA replicative intermediates, viral transcripts and HBsAg and HBcAg proteins were detected in most. These findings may be relevant to the initiation of extrahepatic syndromes associated with chronic hepatitis B virus infection such as vasculitis, glomerulonephropathy, neuropathy and dermatitis.
Similarly, extensive analyses of intrahepatic woodchuck hepatitis virus (WHV) and duck hepatitis B virus (DHBV) DNA intermediates under nucleoside analog therapy clearly demonstrated that cccDNA become the predominant form of viral DNA replication intermediates upon long-term suppression of viral DNA replication40 and 41. These findings strongly suggest that cccDNA is the most stable HBV replication intermediate and elimination of cccDNA is the key to cure HBV infection.
Alan McLachlan at the University of Illinois-Chicago, dramatic reductions in viral transcripts, viral replicative DNA intermediates, and intracellular HBV core antigen were observed in the liver after two weekly doses.
A 12 years old girl had a blood transfusion with hiv blood, she took PEP( tenofovir, emtricitabine, ritonavir-boosted darunavir (subsequently changed to lopinavir) and raltegravir) after 24 hours and had these PEP for three months. Nicotinamide suppressed both HBV DNA replicative intermediates and 3.5-kb mRNA expression. Moreover, nicotinamide treatment also suppressed core protein expression and the secretion of the hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) and the hepatitis B e antigen (HBeAg) in HBV-expressing cell models. Importantly, nicotinamide treatment suppressed serum HBV DNA, HBsAg and HBeAg levels and liver HBV DNA in HBV-transgenic mice.
The siRNAs in ARC-520 intervene at the point of DNA transcription, upstream of where nucleotide and nucleoside analogues act, and can deeply knockdown all HBV gene products, including proteins and the viral intermediates necessary to produce viral DNA.
Similarly, there is no risk from his putting his fingers in your mouth. STDs are not transmitted through by hands as intermediates. In answer to your specific questions:
1. No, no risk.
2. No - hand to genital transmission is very inefficient and not a realistic concern.
3. No, not unless it leads to penetrative sex (which it often does, no matter what was "planned".
4. Very briefly if at all.
5. No need for testing

Treatment with PEG-IFN-alpha 2a, 180 ug/week and ribavirin 1000 mg/day was started, and lopinavir/r/3TC/tenofovir was continued. HCV RNA was cleared after 12 weeks and AST levels normalised. At month 13, still on PEG-IFN/ribavirin therapy, AST levels increased and HCV RNA became detectable. Genotyping showed HCV genotype-2. The patient admitted he had participated in one more ‘fist-@%* king’ party at month 11 in Berlin. The patient denied IVDU at any time.

STDs of all sorts are not effectively transmitted with intermediates for transmission. Thus fingers, hands, even sex toys are not reasonable mechanisms for STD or HIV transmission unless the finger immediately goes from one orifice to the other -even then the risk would be very, very low.
2. Could you get infected through exposure to a penis or semen while you are grinding on them? No, not for the most part.
