My gf had not been on birth control for a year or more. She began taking Lo Loestrin Fe on Oct. 20, the first day of her period. The side effects (increased acne, severe anxiety and depression, emotional lability) were so severe for her that she decided to stop before the pack was done. I believe she took roughly 2 weeks and a few days of the pack (maybe 3 weeks total), then quit them because she was so miserable.

Hi. I'm switching from Loestrin 24 FE to Gildess 1.5/30. Will I need to use a backup birth control method when I make this switch? If so, for how long? And will going from only taking 4 placebo pills per month to 7 due to packaging differences make my chances of getting pregnant greater? As much detail as you can give me would be greatly appreciated, I'm freaking out.

I was off of the pill at the time, but for the past month I have been on Loestrin. My periods have been a little uncomfortable, so I skipped my sugar pills in the pack and went straight for the active ones in the next pack to suppress my period until I find out what the heck is going on with my body. My gyno office and pharmacist said it was okay to do that so I would like to do that from now on. But now I wonder if that will harm my cysts in some way.

I recently started taking Loestrin 24. I started experiencing light bleeding during sex which lasts for a day or 2 then stops, but then occurs again the next time. It only happens during/after sex. I've never had this happen before. There was nothing abnormal when I had my check up and was given the prescription. Has anyone ever heard of this happening with this brand?

Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????

Is it possible to have cervical mucus changes and cramping during the time of assumed ovulation without the egg actually releasing? My cervical mucus is the way it should be during ovulation. I have cramps and all that jazz. I feel like I am spinning my wheels trying to get pregnant. My husband and I have a healthy sexual relationship with it happening about 4-5 times every week. You'd think I'd hit the right time in there sometime! PS. I have a 7.

I was asked to stop taking birth control (Loestrin Fe) for at least 4 weeks prior to some blood work that needs to be preformed for kidney, adrenal, pituitary, thyroid and other things. I stopped it immediately after the blood tests were ordered so I could get the test done quickly. I quit the pack with 8 active pills left in the pack. Typically I start my period on the 4th day of inactive pills then begin a new pack the next day.

After I started charting, I had just gotten off of a 2-week round of BC. My obgyn put me on Loestrin for 2 weeks trying to postpone my ovulation bc my hubby works 14/14 and I ovulated when he was gone. So here is the center of my confusion! I just charted all of my temps on my FF and the calendar says that I am on cd29, and that I am not predicted to have af until Oct 11. Actually I am due next Wed, Sept. 23.

Hi, i have been on lo loestrin fe for 1 month. Today i am taking second brown pill, which is also the last one...i feel menstrual pain for a few days, but no menstruation. I am worried! Is pregnancy possible if i had intercourse with my bf (while i was on the pill) but he had never ejaculated inside? It is written that lo loestrin fe is protecting you from the first day if u are starting on the first day of your period. Thats how i did. But why is my period not coming?

I have been taking Loestrin (generic) for about a year. My doctor gave me the brand as a sample to save some money. I am in week three of the first pack. My period started yesterday. What can cause this early bleeding?

I've not had any problems with Yaz or Loestrin 24. I'm on Loestrin right now because Yaz made me pretty low emotionally. However, I think because they are so low dose pills, they shouldn't cause such a problem. I've heard bad thinkgs about Seasonal/ique, though. I dunno. I take Loestrin continiously and haven't had an issue, I don't see why you would bother with a pill specifically marketed as "less periods" when you can have them with any.

Hi I hope someone can help me I am taking Amoxicillin 250mg which is an anitbiotic and am also taking Loestrin 30 for birth control. I heard that the antibiotic effected the birth control so thought best to use a condom ... unfortunately it split and now I'm worried I could be pregnant.

Give her time to heal from the surgery and give Loestrin time to work. When Loestrin is used continuously to stop your period that is how pain is stopped.

So like I said, this is aparently normal when on Loestrin. Im going to go on the generic of Loestrin, Junel Fe, which worked for me in the past and I think its 21 days of the pill and than 7 days of the "period" part. As much as I dread my period, it's a reassuring thing.

I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Help - has anyone had a rash with Loestrin - I have been itching and have rash on stomache chest and back. I also experienced terrible depression that put me in a zombie state. I only used this drug for one week and my doctor took me off. Did anyone experience these symptoms???

I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again. I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.

I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.

per bloodwork, I am only in perimenopause and am on day 5 of Lo Loestrin. Has anyone had success feeling better on this bcp and did it take a couple of cycles to really notice. I get these periodic heart palps and adrenaline rushes throughout the day. I'm still taking flaxseed oil and evening primrose to help control, but am really hoping the Lo Loestrin makes a difference. Has anyone done well taking bcp for their peri symptoms?

I've been on my bc (loestrin fe) for about 7 months now. I've never missed a pill but occasionally take it at a different time. Between 7:10 and 7:30. I know that that's alright but I go on and off with periods. Sometimes it starts with the white pills and sometimes the red and sometimes not at all. I also have bleeding during my second week for about 3 days. Is this normal? Could I be pregnant? Should I be worried?
