Loestrin estrogen level

Common Questions and Answers about Loestrin estrogen level

loestrin

Avatar m tn I have been on Loestrin for about 4 months now, true it is low in hormones but I am taking it continuously for Endometriosis so I haven't had any spotting at all. Loestrin itself means low in estrogen.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever switched from Loestrin 24 to Ortho Tri Cyclen Lo? Anybody ever gotten pregnant while on the "lo estrogen" pills? I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Avatar f tn My daughter has been prescribed Loestrin 20 for Estrogen and Progesterone as hormone therapy, due to her having ovarian cancer and having both ovaries removed. She is only 21. She is on her third month of taking and hardly bleed during the fourth week period when she had stopped taking the tablets but has had spotting most of the time.
1053407 tn?1352030371 I went and seen my doc.
Avatar f tn I think they're confused. If you read the full prescribing information, it's the PILL that screws with the lamotrigine, not the other way around. It's not like a lot of other anticonvulsants. From http://epilepsy.med.nyu.edu/treatment/medications/lamotrigine "Lamotrigine has no effect on other seizure medicines. And unlike some other seizure medicines, it does not reduce the effectiveness of birth control pills.
Avatar n tn For the most part, it has an inverse relationship to estrogen level. Since you do not have ovaries and do not take estrogen, it makes sense that your FSH is high. I also do not have ovaries but I take estrogen. When my estrogen level gets rather high, my FSH is low (in the range of a menstruating woman). When my estrogen is on the lower side, my FSH rises.
Avatar f tn Din mean to post yet but low dose of estrogen nd progesterin sry for spelling. i have my alarm set on ny phone to remind me daily so i dnt miss it. So far it has good effects just waiting for a period which doc said will b very light. I. did read bad reviews but what don't have bad reviews now a days everyone is different. But my doc said make sure i tare it daily since it does have the lowest dose its very easy to get pregnant if i skip days.
181789 tn?1269794404 So I had a breast ultrasound and showed a mass that is benign..I changed BCP to one that has less estrogen in it. I also cut out caffeine, soda and meat to experiment with the pain. I haven't been eating much meat only if it is free of hormones and pesticides especailly beef..which I rarely eat. I found that switching over too the lower dose estrogen pill really helped. I don't drink soda anymore and seldom eat meat. I need my caffeine though.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have been searching the internet and there is absolutely no information on switching from higher doses of estrogen to a lower dose. My doctor is didn't mention anything about how to switch, and is now out of town. Background: I have been taking a combination birth control pill for about 5 years now. I am absolutely religious about taking it at the exact time each day down to the minute.
Avatar f tn I am currently on birth control (loestrin 24) but I have been taking this pill for months and have not had these kind of symptoms with it before.
Avatar f tn im 33 yo,6yrs trying to get pregnant, recently my repro-endo told me that im not ovulating bec of low estrogen level, and as of now she doesnt know the root cause of having low estrogen, since all my bloodtests were normal..is there anybody out there who experience the same thing..right now my ob instruct me to inject gonal-f.to help stimulate my eggcells..very depressing, frustrating, sometimes i want to give up and loosing hope..pls help me..
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for the help. I'm on the birth control Loestrin. By the name of it, I assume it's a low estrogen pill. Does this give you any more information that you can pass on to me? By the way, I am going to call my doctor to set up an appointment tomorrow. I'd like to prepare myself with knowledge though if I can.
Avatar n tn I was on Loestrin 1/20 Fe for 2 years and it initially seemed to help the acne, but eventually it got worse. I switched to Estrostep 1/20 for 6 months and it got even worse. Then I switched to Ortho Cyclen in hope that the higher estrogen dosage would help. It has and my face is almost clear after 3 months. However, it has made me gain weight and be bloated all the time. This is not okay, so I definitely need to switch again because I cannot afford to buy all new clothes in the next size up.
Avatar f tn Other pills have a different chemical make-up, but more estrogen can cause more mood swings. Does anyone else take Lexapro and Lamictal in addition to a BC pill to suppress periods? Thank you!
Avatar f tn However last week my hcg level was 4500 and had an ultrasound. The doctor called me to schedule it because my HCG was 278 two weeks prior. They could see gestational sac but couldn't really tell if they saw a fetus and sac measured 5 weeks 6 days pregnant and no heartbeat. I have another hcg test Monday and ultrasound Wednesday. Any advise? I have miscarried twice and have had 2 children. I was on loestrin 24 and took it on time every day and still got pregnant!
Avatar f tn My doctor is switching my pills to one with a higher hormone level. She says I am feeling bad because my pills are not strong enough. I start the new ones Sunday and am hoping for the best. Two things that will definitely help are more protein in your diet and exercise. This will keep your blood sugar levels more stable and energy level higher. I would talk to your doctor about switching to a different pill. My new ones are Loestrin 1.5.
655897 tn?1328018445 Hi kmcarino! I'm honestly not sure what's a normal estrogen level after O...don't think I've ever had that checked before in the 2WW...but your progesterone level sounds great! And the cramps could be a good sign too! Best of luck this month!!!
Avatar f tn Hey everyone. So this is the story. Last summer, I went on Loestrin Birth Control Pills.I was on it for about three months, then stopped taking it. Since them, I've had bad anxiety/depression. This might sound crazy, but I was wondering if the hormones could have somehow permanently altered my hormones/moods? And if there's anything I can do to reverse it. Thanks for the feedback everyone.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure in 1998 at 29 with an FSH of 165 and estrogen less than 10. I used loestrin as HRT for about 8 years and then started having much trouble tolerating it, I couldn't get through 1/2 a pack without extreme bloating, fatigue and breast pain.
Avatar f tn Three months ago I was switched by my OBGYN to the oral contraceptive pill Loestrin ( a combination of norethindrone acetate and ethinyl estradiol). I asked my doctor to switch me from my old 'tried & true" BC pill Azurette (Ethinyl estradiol and desogestrel) because of my suspicion that it, Azurette might be making my Chronic Migraine Headache condition worse.
Avatar f tn m hoping in the next year to start trying and the doctor is hopeful but I still worry about preserving my fertility. I am currently on lo loestrin fe continuously but the pills make me nauseous. My doctor wants me to start the Lupron Depot shot. Will this help preserve fertility better than the BCP?
Avatar f tn In a 6 month period my estrogen level went from below 20 to over 2300. What could it be? I am a 'healthy' 53 year old female. 5' 5" and 140 lbs. I have been in menapause for 5 years. (no period). I have taken herbal supplement, "Estroven" since the beginning. I have not had HORRIBLE hot flashes, night sweats or mood swings. However, I have had vaginal dryness. A couple of years ago, I began using Estring 2mg - which helped.
655897 tn?1328018445 My estrogen level is over 2000. I am on day 11 of my Gonal F shot and will take at least one more shot tomorrow on day 12. My IUi will probably be on Wednesday. Does this estrogen level seem really high to anyone? For those of you who have gotten hyperstimulated, what was your level close to the time of the trigger shot or IUI? I have to go in again tomorrow for u/s and b/w.
