It is possible that the pills delayed her ovulation and that is the reason for the delayed period. I've finally found a doctor that takes me seriously and agrees that I have all the classic symptoms of endo. Along with a family history and during the exam she thought she felt the "bands" where it had attached itself. Of course the only way to be sure is surgery but she wants to do the less envasive first......birthcontrol. I really like my new doctor but I can't help but be nervous about the side effects.

I have had severe anxiety problems before and they are terrible. I am sorry that you are having trouble with them & finding a birth control that works. I would NOT recommend YAZ...it's the only birth control that has had truly debilitating effects on my mood. I've experienced depression, anxiety, headaches, weird breathing/yawning side effects, you name it...

Thanks JoyRenee. I just think it's crazy that BCP fails some people even faithful, on-time, pill takers. I was not good at taking Loestrin on time sometimes but I doubled up to make up for missed doses. So far with this pill I've had LOTS OF CRAMPING and POOPING. (TMI) I just hope I don't have crazy side effects like I did with Loestrin 24 (made me feel pregnant EVERY month).

I just started a new birth control pill called lo loestrin fe. I was on a higher dose birth control but having some side effects so i switched to this one. This was my first month of taking this pill and have gone through the entire pack and did not get my period (i am 2 days into the new pack). I am not sexually active so I am not pregnant but is there a reason for not getting it? Is this bad or is it because its a new pill?

Hi! If you were my patient, I would encourage you to consider an IUD for birth control. The Mirena can be a very convenient and effective method. If you want a regular cycle though, oral contraceptives are probably your best bet. You probably need to give then a fair try (two to three MONTHS) if you are going to use them. There will be some type of side effect with each method, so, you will have to consider which is going to be most tolerable for you. Good luck!

hey hun, so how did everything sort out? Hormones are a tricky thing, they can do all kinds of weird things to our body. I was prescribed lo loestrin as well to treat endo, and i'm not sure if I should take it.

s endo, put me on Lo Loestrin Fe which stopped my period after the first dose, but I had horrible side effects after just a few days. Within 24 hours of stopping, my period came back RAGING- worst cramps & heaviest bleeding ever. I simply cannot handle hormonal treatments. Should I schedule a lap ASAP?

I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.

The first month I got my period on schedule and experienced no side effects. The second month I had breakthrough bleeding for about 2 weeks in the middle of the month, but no period on the placebo pills. The second month I had light brown spotting the 2nd week but again no period. Should I be concerned? I've heard that some women on this particular pill don't get their period, even my gynecologist warned me of this, but it still freaks me out!

Birth control pill containing Drospirenone and ethinylestradiol may be helpful since they have lesser side effects. Drink plenty of water everyday and avoid oily fried foods to prevent acne. I take Loestrin continuously and have no periods at all. It's made all the difference. I don't have any side effects. Everyone is different though.

myself on the otherhand i was on the pill for 5 years and the only side effects I had was my period became shorter and less heavy (thank god) before BC i had my period for 7-8 days straight with heavy bleeding and clotting so the pill worked for me and helped a lot so youll never really know how your bodys going to react until you actually take it..

I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.

I am two weeks into my first pack of Lo Loestrin and I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago. I had awful cramps and some bleeding today but it stopped. Is this normal?
