Hair loss is a huge one linked to these. They are underreported- it is a huge problem most are unaware.
Since it is my first month on the pill I worried I may become pregnant and read that Lo loestrin fe, if taken in doses of 2 pills after sex, and two pills 12 hours later, can act as a plan b type pill. Because of this, I'm on the sugar pills 3 days earlier than I should be and was wondering if this mischeduling can cause a pregnancy? Everything I read said the pill is very effective if taken correctly and no pills are missed or skipped.

If your girlfriend was my patient, I would recommend a repeat pregnancy test in one week UNLESS she has her normal period. I would then test weekly for up to 4-6 weeks. If she has not resumed her periods by then and isn't pregnant, she should check with her doctor. If she is pregnant, she should also check with her doctor, of course.
It is possible that the pills delayed her ovulation and that is the reason for the delayed period.
Thanks megan I think I'm too late for the plan b pill just wondered if you had any idea whther it was more likely or unlikely that my pill would of failed. Does the pill still work a little bit or do antibiotics completely throw them off track?
Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular.
OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late.
I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile.

Plan B if you were going to use it should have been done immediately. It's really late to even consider it now and the longer you wait the less effective it gets. At this point there's not much you can do. You should have been told to use condoms for the next two-three weeks as missing pills makes it ineffective and then you're switching as well.
Of course I ended up having unprotected sex with my boyfriend three times- and then freaked out (I had been spotting a little- perhaps because of the irregular pill taking), and took plan B (I tried to take it within 72 hours of when we had sex...but I think there was one time we had sex that would have fit into about the 80 hour time frame instead of 72). I immediately started taking my pill regularly at 9 PM, like a responsible human being, and my body responded well.
She gave me a prescription for Loestrin and said I could start and stop taking it any time. However, I forgot to ask her about when the best time to start on them is!
See, the reason why I'm not on any hormonal birth control is because they usually make me very bloated and moody. However, I'm willing to deal with that sort of thing if it's a very short term - maybe one week or so at the most.
I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe.
I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
I've been on Loestrin 24 fe for about a year now. I take it regularly and consistently, but vomited a few hours after taking one pill of this month's pack. I'm on the second day of the placebo pills now, and I did not have a period last month at all. My boyfriend and I have been having sex, without using condoms, for 5 months and everything has been fine, but I'd like some reassurance. Could missing that one pill in the first week of pills cause me to be pregnant?
did you start having symptoms of anxiety and depression while you were still on the Loestrin, or only after you went off?
Most definitely hormone replacement therapy of any kind (or hormonal imbalances, like those related to the thyroid) can cause anxiety. If indeed you felt anxiety after starting on the BC pill, it should have resolved after you came off of it.
On New Year Eve i had unprotected sex, and then decided to get the morning after pill, Plan B. I took the pill January 3rd. A couple days later, around the 6th i started bleeding like a period, and it lasted about 5 days. Now im confused beacuse now its the 29th of January, and my period still isnt here. I read on the Plan B website that you should still get your period when expected even if you bled previously.
m not on birth control and I had sex with my boyfriend and the condom broke but he did not finish so I went out and got plan b and took it AN HOUR AND A HALF after the incident. One week ago I had sex and the condom broke so I took plan B within 14 hours dispite I am on birth control because I was really scared of pregnancy. I am with mumita and mami and ziggy on this one. This world needs birth control and Plan-B for those unexpected times. What if a woman was raped and didnt believe in "abortion", she still has the option to take this pill as it is not an embryo yet. It is all how you perceive it, but I view Plan-B as a last resort birth control. If someone has to take it on a regular basis then they should get on a more traditional bc.
I remember I had a terrible headache, cramps, and nausea and vomiting. I also began my period a few days after I took Plan B, and it was much, much heavier than my normal cycles. Trust me, birth control works much better, is less stressful, and is less painful if you are indeed trying to prevent pregnancy. Also, I believe I read on the package when I took it that if you have already conceived, it won't terminate the pregnancy.
