loestrin and menopause

per bloodwork, I am only in perimenopause and am on day 5 of Lo Loestrin. Has anyone had success feeling better on this bcp and did it take a couple of cycles to really notice. I get these periodic heart palps and adrenaline rushes throughout the day. I'm still taking flaxseed oil and evening primrose to help control, but am really hoping the Lo Loestrin makes a difference. Has anyone done well taking bcp for their peri symptoms?

Hi there, I am 36 years old and like that when on my LoEstrin Fe birth control pill that I do not have a period and hardly any cramps. I bleed heavy and have lots of cramps and symptoms when I am not on the pill. But looking at the risks of clots esp. if you smoke and are over 35 etc got me thinking. I do not smoke but is if safe to take birth control pills until menopause? That's a lot of years past the age of 35.

hello! I am a 30 year old recently diagnosed with PCOS. I have been feeling like garbage recently and have not been able to find a doctor who can help. I recently went through my lab results from September and see my Estradiol is <5.00 pg/mL. I am also on Lo Loestrin. Can the birth control be causing the very low numbers, my PCOS, something else? The numbers are those of someone in menopause, so it is a bit concerning. Any insight is appreciated!

did explain to us that they can only get what they can see. Dr. started her on Loestrin 24 and said hopefully in a few months the pain will get better. If not, we are looking at Lupron shots.

Did you just start having this? Sometimes out of this year I would have a period for 7 days. Then be done and 2 days later I would have spotting and then maybe a week later have a period. But it's not every month. Have you talked to your doc about this? Now I haven't had a period since July.

ve been on the ortho series until I was 32 and the Loestrin (24 and 28) up until my pregnancy and continued it after pregnancy. Both made a big difference. Only now am I feeling more 'inflammatory' like pain. But they said I definately have adhesions (ovary wrapped behind my uterus). I possibly might begin menopause (hot flashes). But all I can say is that birth control pills definately gave me a life. I would try them. Never been on Yaz. You can always get off of them.

I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.

I am two weeks into my first pack of Lo Loestrin and I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago. I had awful cramps and some bleeding today but it stopped. Is this normal?

I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.

Help - has anyone had a rash with Loestrin - I have been itching and have rash on stomache chest and back. I also experienced terrible depression that put me in a zombie state. I only used this drug for one week and my doctor took me off. Did anyone experience these symptoms???

I am on Loestrin 24 and had the same issue. I also have cramps the week before, during, and after my period. I have cramps for like three weeks out of the month. They seem to be getting worse too. And I am crazy emotional. Do you have any other side effects?

i was put on the birthcontrol called loestrin. ive been on loestrin for a little over 6 months now and all of a sudden one day i couldnt have sex anymore because it hurt so much. as time passed this pain went away but now as of today just him inserting it for one second and then all of a sudden ever since it has hurt to pee.why is this?

I was taking Loestrin Fe and had alot of spotting the first month (not necessarily while having sex). I also had more spotting in the third month. I told my doctor & she said that the hormones were too low for me. I would let your doctor know and see if there might be a better one out there for you.

I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????

Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular. OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late. I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile. ) and if you took the test to early you could get a false neg. in fact a lot of women have that happen. I've had that happen. If you still don't get it in a couple days I would test again or get a blood test done.

I've personally never heard of breakthrough bleeding meaning that you aren't protected... You are probably thinking that because sometimes breakthrough bleeding is caused by missing pills or not taking them on time. I used to have really bad breakthrough bleeding issues before my laparoscopy to remove endometriosis, and it would happen with every pill, but I remember I had a lot of it when I was on loestrin for some reason.

I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again. I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.

People assume I am pregnant or going through menopause, but I have not been sexually active since Feb. 2010 and I am only 21!

12pm on Saturday March 5th my boyfriend and I experienced a broken condom. I have been taking Lo Loestrin for about a month now and am on my second row on my second package. I have been researching since, that I should be able to take 2 Lo Loestrin pills and that they work as an emergency contraceptive. Can someone please confirm with me on whether or not I can.

I was actually on lo loestrin 24 when I conceived.. i did miss a pill here and there however they said i was still protected i have always been extremely fertile but you should have nothing to worry about!
