Avatar f tn I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.
Avatar f tn I'm 37 and positive I have endo: horrible cramps, heavy bleeding, exhaustion, never been pregnant, lots of gastro problems, constipation, etc. I also gained 15 pounds in 2 months and went up two cup sizes with no change in diet or activity level whatsoever. (Does endo cause weight gain??) My new gyne said there's an 80% chance it's endo, put me on Lo Loestrin Fe which stopped my period after the first dose, but I had horrible side effects after just a few days.
Avatar f tn I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
Avatar m tn I am two weeks into my first pack of Lo Loestrin and I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago. I had awful cramps and some bleeding today but it stopped. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn I've personally never heard of breakthrough bleeding meaning that you aren't protected... You are probably thinking that because sometimes breakthrough bleeding is caused by missing pills or not taking them on time. I used to have really bad breakthrough bleeding issues before my laparoscopy to remove endometriosis, and it would happen with every pill, but I remember I had a lot of it when I was on loestrin for some reason.
Avatar n tn I would just be interested to know whether anyone (or someone you know) has ever got pregnant on the pill? And if so did you have bleeding (maybe misinterpreted as a period) in the early stages of the pregnancy?
486679 tn?1234575929 i need advice..i was taking my birth control pill loestrin 24 for about 6 months and suddenly began bleeding mid way through my pills.not heavy like a perios very lightly but nonstop for almost 2 weeks.i was unsure why this was so i stopped my pills and sure enough the bleeding stopped.problem is that i stopped them mid way through and was supposed to get my actual period the following thursday.
Avatar f tn The first month was pretty bad with immediate mood swings, fatigue and swollen breasts. The bleeding kept going through the whole month and stopped when my period was due! I have completed the second pack two days ago: I've had no bleeding expect a light period when it was due and the other symptoms have all improved. I have also.noticed that my sexual drive is well alive - not so much when I was taking Yasmine. Will keep you updated.
Avatar f tn I have recently started taking Lo loestrin Fe for my birth control for almost 2 months now and have been having almost continuous bleeding. That was the only problem until about two weeks ago. Now I'm having serious bloating, headaches, fatigue, cramping, mood swings, and crazy heartburn even when I don't eat anything. This was the exact string of symptoms when I found out I was pregnant with my son. I took a test but it came out negative.
Avatar n tn Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular. OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late. I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn I am 19, and this is my first month with the birth control lo loestrin fe. I am not sexually active in the sense I have not had sex yet, but my boyfriend and I have touched each other and done oral. During this month I've taken all my pills except during the 3rd week I forgot to take a pill one day, and despite taking it again when I remembered, I forgot to take he other on time too. So maybe that's what threw me off. But all I know is soon after I started having brown discharge.
Avatar f tn Hi there, There may be breakthrough or intracyclic bleeding and spotting especially during the first three months of use. If bleeding persists or occurs after previously regular cycles, you should get checked for causes such as pregnancy or malignancy. If pregnancy and pathology have been excluded, bleeding irregularities may resolve over time or you may need an alternative method of contraception. Do keep us posted. Take care and best regards!
Avatar m tn I recently started taking Loestrin 24. I started experiencing light bleeding during sex which lasts for a day or 2 then stops, but then occurs again the next time. It only happens during/after sex. I've never had this happen before. There was nothing abnormal when I had my check up and was given the prescription. Has anyone ever heard of this happening with this brand?
Avatar f tn Hi, I hope someone can help me, since I can't go to the gyn until Jan. 12. So, my boyfriend and I have been trying to conceive for a few months, and I recently had a miscarriage, right after that I've been experiencing heavy bleeding for almost two months straight, with some abdominal pain as well.. Any suggestions ? Advice? Help? Thank youuuu!!
Avatar f tn I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Avatar f tn But there was 1 time that I had a period for 3 mo straight and it was very heavy!!! I had to take Loestrin 3 times/day for a week to stop my period & I havent had one since then. ( which is about a year since my last period) So my doctor gave me provera (medroxyprogesterone) to take for 10 days to induce a period. I finally got my period a week later and I am on my 6th day now.
Avatar f tn So, I started taking Lo Loestrin Fe June 2nd. Also, I feel like I should mention this is the first time I've ever been on birth control. So this is start of week 7. And since July 7th or so, I've gone between spotting to regular period bleeding. (Not that i bleed very heavy at all, but still.) And along with that, I'm cramping worse than ever. Also, it's made me the moodiest most emotional person since the second week of taking it.
Avatar n tn Oh and I was mistaken I'm on lo Loestrin fe
Avatar f tn Hi, I recetly experienced very heavy bleeding that lasted for over a month.. Then I went to the ER because it was way too much.. Then, the doctor told me I should consider to start using birth control, because I need more hormones in order to have a regular period( I've always had very regular periods evey 30 days, except this one time).. So which types of birth control are better? Which ones are not as effective? Would it affect me if I want to conceive?
Avatar f tn myself on the otherhand i was on the pill for 5 years and the only side effects I had was my period became shorter and less heavy (thank god) before BC i had my period for 7-8 days straight with heavy bleeding and clotting so the pill worked for me and helped a lot so youll never really know how your bodys going to react until you actually take it..
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm actually taking Lo Loestrin Fe birth control pills and I've been experiencing almost all of those symptoms listed and just last week I started my period but Im not suppose to start till this thursday. I've had HORRIFIC cramps and I'm somewhat heavy with dark blood and red with some clomps and my period isn't flowing constantly it keeps stoping and I'm panicking cause I don't know if this is normal or not.
Avatar f tn Hello, Spotting or bleeding while on active pills is quite common in the first cycle of pills or if pills are missed or taken late. Bleeding may be very light or can be as heavy as a period and may occur anytime in the cycle of active pills. It is important to take the pill at the same time every day .These symptoms will usually improve as you continue additional cycles of pills and should not be occurring by the end of the third cycle..
Avatar f tn I’ve taken 4 pills since the mishap and yesterday started experiencing breakthrough bleeding and agonising cramps!! Is this a ‘period’? Should I continue with the rest of the packet and have my 7 day break at the end like normal? I had sex on the Tues+Thurs after the missed pills, what are the chances I could fall pregnant from that? Thanks!
Avatar m tn For the last six months or so my periods have really changed. I used to be really really heavy with dark blood at the beginning and end, and bright red blood in the middle (sorry this is so descriptive,). Now I only have bleeding when I wipe, and not a lot of that. It is also really dark blood, practically brown for the whole 2-3 days. The pain is still bad but that is the only thing that is the same.
Avatar f tn i recently started the pill on 8-8 and stated bleeding 8-20 i am still bleeding and its worse i also have clotting as well. i have major cramps, back pain, and emotional problems. is this all because of the pill and will it be going away soon. im so tired. before i started taking the pill i didnt have a period for about 2 1/2 years is this causing it? i really just need to know what to do im worried. thanks.
Avatar f tn However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? I take my pill at the same time daily and there haven't been any changes of lifestyle.
562936 tn?1216219564 Probably just a strange way your body is taking to the birth control. I take it and when I switched to it from yaz I had dark colored break through bleeding, but only lasted a few days. Call your gyno.
Avatar n tn My gynecologist prescribed me lo loestrin fe to help with irregular and painful periods. I started taking it the first day of my period, Dec 25. I continued to bleed until Jan 20 (CD 27/the last white pill before the brown placebo pills) I also had sex on Jan 21 around 1:00 AM using the withdraw method correctly. I took a pregnancy test Jan 28 and it was negative.
