I have been on lo loestrin fe for the past 4 months. This past month I had breakthrough bleeding. I've been told that breakthrough bleeding means that I am not protected anymore, but does that mean that my pills were not working for the entire month prior to breakthrough or just the time after that? Could I have gotten pregnant before breakthrough even if I had taken pills regularly?

I've been on birth control since I was 15 (now 23) for ovarian cysts. About a year ago I switched pills from Loestrin 24 fe to Lo Loestrin 24 fe. Within the year I think I've had 2 periods (only lasting a day or so) and a few days of very light spotting. I do know this pill is the lowest dose of hormones you can have with a birth control pill. Is this normal?
However, in the past couple of months I have experienced spotting and breakthrough bleeding all over again and that is not normal for me. What could be going on? I take my pill at the same time daily and there haven't been any changes of lifestyle.
ive been on loestrin 24 fe for about 2 weeks now i started it on a sunday which happen to be the first day of my period that lasted 7 days to end to start with the breakthough bleeding 2 days later and it has yet to stop any idean how long this is going to last i cant begin to think about bleeding for months stright.
I have been on Lo Loestrin Fe birth control from about 4 months now. The first month I got my period on schedule and experienced no side effects. The second month I had breakthrough bleeding for about 2 weeks in the middle of the month, but no period on the placebo pills. The second month I had light brown spotting the 2nd week but again no period. Should I be concerned?
I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.)
But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.

I am on the oral contraception Lo Loestrin Fe and I just started my placebo pills of my second pack yesterday. I was on this BC last year for 3 months then got off because of breakthrough bleeding constantly- tried Microgestin and it was awful so I decided to try this pill again.
I've bleed quite a bit on this pill with spotting. My last period was from Feb 4-10th. Then I had unprotected sex (pull out method) on Feb 11th and 14th.
I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe.
I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
I was taking Loestrin Fe and had alot of spotting the first month (not necessarily while having sex). I also had more spotting in the third month. I told my doctor & she said that the hormones were too low for me. I would let your doctor know and see if there might be a better one out there for you.
I'm on my second week of Junel fe 1/20 and have been bleeding the last few days, and the first week I have problens stayin wet, is this because of the Birth Control
i recently started the pill on 8-8 and stated bleeding 8-20 i am still bleeding and its worse i also have clotting as well. i have major cramps, back pain, and emotional problems. is this all because of the pill and will it be going away soon. im so tired. before i started taking the pill i didnt have a period for about 2 1/2 years is this causing it? i really just need to know what to do im worried. thanks.
I’ve taken 4 pills since the mishap and yesterday started experiencing breakthrough bleeding and agonising cramps!! Is this a ‘period’? Should I continue with the rest of the packet and have my 7 day break at the end like normal? I had sex on the Tues+Thurs after the missed pills, what are the chances I could fall pregnant from that?

So I've been taking Lo loestrin fe for 3 weeks. A week before taking it, I had my period. After taking it, I got it again. I understand that it's normal to get it after first starting. My problem is that it's now been 2 weeks that I've been on my period. Is this still normal?
Hi, I am on lo loestrin fe and i have been on it continuously for about two years and on the birth control I stopped getting my period. On Sunday I was sick and threw up for a while but it was later in the day at least 6 hours after i took my birth control pill. The next day I had vaginal spotting/bleeding and still took my dose at the normal time. It has been three days and I am still lightly spotting. Is there a problem or something I can do?
I'm on birth control (lo loestrin fe) and was at the end of the pack. My period is scheduled Monday til Thursday. It didn't come on Monday and my boyfriend and I had unprotected sex. I've had very light bleeding Tuesday through today (Thursday), but I'm still a little worried.
Is it possible that I was able to conceive while on birth control and at the time I was supposed to get my period? (Keeping in mind that I took every pill at the same time every day)

I actually was on this birth control for the very first time as well before I switched to the generic brand of Lo Lestein Fe. I had the bleeding here and there, but I was still experiencing the cramps which was the main reason I went on birth control in the first place. Maybe when you go to the doctor you should mention switching to the generic kind of this birth control. I hope this helps & good luck to you!
My first month I had a few days of breakthrough bleeding but my period was on time. The 2nd month I had no breakthrough bleeding and everything was on time perfectly. Now this month, I've taken all of my pills on time except one, which I was two hours late. About two weeks to a week ago, in the middle of the package of pills, I had a week of brown discharge. It was light and light brown at first, but it got darker, heavier, and lasted a week. There was some blood too.

Hi there. I have recently started taking Lo loestrin Fe for my birth control for almost 2 months now and have been having almost continuous bleeding. That was the only problem until about two weeks ago. Now I'm having serious bloating, headaches, fatigue, cramping, mood swings, and crazy heartburn even when I don't eat anything. This was the exact string of symptoms when I found out I was pregnant with my son. I took a test but it came out negative.
I started the birth control le loestrin fe at the beginning of August (but I didn't wait until after my period came to begin taking the pills) I haven't had my period in those last four months. I had some weird symptoms like nausea and breast tenderness and discharge from late September to late October but not so much anymore. Is it normal to miss your period for that long after starting birth control or specifically lo loestrin fe?
I'm 37 and positive I have endo: horrible cramps, heavy bleeding, exhaustion, never been pregnant, lots of gastro problems, constipation, etc.
I also gained 15 pounds in 2 months and went up two cup sizes with no change in diet or activity level whatsoever.
(Does endo cause weight gain??)
My new gyne said there's an 80% chance it's endo, put me on Lo Loestrin Fe which stopped my period after the first dose, but I had horrible side effects after just a few days.
I was on Lo Loestrin Fe for 10 months, and had to stop for 6 weeks because I had surgery and was required to take blood thinners. I got back on my birth control, and ended up not having a period at all. Usually I have light bleeding for 2 days on my pills, and I'm concerned I could be pregnant. My partner and I used condoms while I was off the pill, but I know accidents happen.

I have been on Microgestin Fe 1/20 for about 5 months and last month switched to Microgestin Fe 1.5/30 to assist breakthrough bleeding. It is working out however, prior to switchjng doses my acne had cleared up GREATLY but since I began the new dose I have had more acne and breakouts. I was wondering if this is a typical side effect of switching doses, if I should switch brands completely or if stress from school etc. is to blame. I am 18.
