Loestrin and endometriosis

Common Questions and Answers about Loestrin and endometriosis

loestrin

Avatar m tn I was taking Loestrin Fe and had alot of spotting the first month (not necessarily while having sex). I also had more spotting in the third month. I told my doctor & she said that the hormones were too low for me. I would let your doctor know and see if there might be a better one out there for you.
Avatar f tn I used to have really bad breakthrough bleeding issues before my laparoscopy to remove endometriosis, and it would happen with every pill, but I remember I had a lot of it when I was on loestrin for some reason. If you take your pills at the same time everyday and don't miss any, then there is a very slim chance you could be pregnant, and in that case, it's probably just random breakthrough bleeding.
Avatar f tn I have been on Loestrin for nearly a year now. I take it continuously so I do not get a period. This has stopped the endo pain. I'm hoping that it is also preserving my fertility until we are ready to try again. I do like Loestrin. I have had major depression and I feel fine on L. Sorry though no experience with Yaz. I think L is worth a try. It's different for everyone so you will only know by trying.
1674462 tn?1304114750 ve been on the ortho series until I was 32 and the Loestrin (24 and 28) up until my pregnancy and continued it after pregnancy. Both made a big difference. Only now am I feeling more 'inflammatory' like pain. But they said I definately have adhesions (ovary wrapped behind my uterus). I possibly might begin menopause (hot flashes). But all I can say is that birth control pills definately gave me a life. I would try them. Never been on Yaz. You can always get off of them.
Avatar n tn I am only 19 and had previously had very clear skin (the occasional hormonal outbreak around the time of my period was normal for me), and yet since taking the pill I have had constant acne around my chin and on my cheeks that never goes away. I have gained weight, despite eating less and exercising more. I am increasingly suffering from horrible, raging mood swings that leave me exhausted.
Avatar m tn I discussed with my doctor and she advised me to tke Loestrin 24 Fe but I am not sure of taking this medication as I already have so many complication with my reproductive system. I am 29 and have Hypothyroidism.
Avatar f tn I have recently been put on LoEstrin for Endometriosis, and as I was advised have been doing the self breast exams. I have noticed that my left breast has become so tender that I can barely complete the self exam. There is one area in particular that feels more sensitive than the rest of the breast, but I can't really press on it, and can't really feel around to tell if there is a lump because it hurts too much.
Avatar f tn I liked it better then Loestrin, since while on Loestrin I had breakthrough bleeding every single day. (So annoying.) But even with Femcon, I had breakthrough during the third week, but I was reading that a lot of women get breakthrough bleeding during the first couple of months.
Avatar m tn I am two weeks into my first pack of Lo Loestrin and I had unprotected sex about 5 weeks ago. I had awful cramps and some bleeding today but it stopped. Is this normal?
Avatar f tn I was recently diagnosed with endometriosis and I want kids, just not right now. I'm hoping in the next year to start trying and the doctor is hopeful but I still worry about preserving my fertility. I am currently on lo loestrin fe continuously but the pills make me nauseous. My doctor wants me to start the Lupron Depot shot. Will this help preserve fertility better than the BCP?
Avatar f tn I started Lo Loestrin Fe oral birth control pill on January 14, 2014 after being off of it since Thanksgiving of 2013. Previously I had constant break-though bleeding (more like a period- for even 2 and a half weeks) and cramps. I switched to Microgestin and that made me so sick I stopped, and then restarted Lo Loestrin Fe. I have taken it everyday and have never missed a pill.
Avatar n tn Help - has anyone had a rash with Loestrin - I have been itching and have rash on stomache chest and back. I also experienced terrible depression that put me in a zombie state. I only used this drug for one week and my doctor took me off. Did anyone experience these symptoms???
Avatar f tn Several months ago it was discovered that I had ovarian cysts and recently had a laparoscopy which revealed 3 cysts, adhesions, endometriosis, and a twisted fallopian tube. So that was all fixed. An upper endoscopy showed gastritis in my stomach and I cough up blood in my sleep, so I am now on medication for that. Sigh.....
Avatar f tn Could appendicitis take this long to develop? I am on Loestrin 24 (birth control) and my fever has gone away. The pain and nausea comes and goes. I've been going through this for about a year now. Please help me.
Avatar n tn I am on Loestrin 24 and had the same issue. I also have cramps the week before, during, and after my period. I have cramps for like three weeks out of the month. They seem to be getting worse too. And I am crazy emotional. Do you have any other side effects?
541196 tn?1293552936 i am trying to get pregnant i am 40 no kids and last year got diagnosed with painful endometriosis...............and believe I still have hope................Live is unpredictable...............
Avatar n tn I suffered a miscarriage last November and a small cyst was found on my left ovary (less than .5 cm). My doctor recommended an oral contraceptive and I was on Loestrin (sp?) until April when I started to bleed through my cycle. I was under alot of stress at the time and attributed it to that. I discontinued the oral contraceptive in April and have not had a period since. I have symptoms of a period; i.e. cramping, irritability, back pain, but no blood loss.
Avatar f tn I am 21 years old and have always had painful periods. I've been taking Loestrin FE for several months and my periods became much shorter (about a day) and less painful. However, I've had severe, sharp abdominal pains in my stomach for weeks and had a pelvic exam. I was told I most likely have a ruptured cyst, but the doctor made it sound very common and nothing to worry about.
Avatar f tn i was put on the birthcontrol called loestrin. ive been on loestrin for a little over 6 months now and all of a sudden one day i couldnt have sex anymore because it hurt so much. as time passed this pain went away but now as of today just him inserting it for one second and then all of a sudden ever since it has hurt to pee.why is this?
Avatar f tn I switched from Loestrin to Ortho because I started not having periods AT ALL on the Loestrin and I had CRAZY PREGNANCY SYMPTOMS. I got a blood test but it was negative. Now I am on Ortho and am a little nervous because I've heard and read that some people have gotten pregnant on this pill. Any advice????
Avatar f tn Well I am on Marvelon and it is a low dose BCP and I don't have any side effects and I have been on it for 7 yrs. What is the size of the cyst? I think the worry would be if it was endometriosis because it could affect your tubes and make you infertile. So I would be more worried about that than the cyst itself.
Avatar n tn Hi! Loestrin is a very low dose pill, and sometimes after you have been on it for awhile, the lining of the uterus gets very thin and bleeding becomes irregular. OR this could be a one time only thing, especially if you missed a pill or took one late. I would tell my patient to wait and see and if it happens regularly, you may need to swtich pills for awhile. Good Luck!
1200566 tn?1265381052 I am 29 years old and this has never happened to me before. I just started my period on Tuesday, on Wednesday morning I had to leave work and go home because I was so dizzy and light headed I couldn't keep my head up. My period is a lot heavier than normal and so is the cramping. I was also having hot flashes. I have missed work the rest of the week because I feel dizzy all the time. I was diagnosed with Endometriosis back in 2002 and had one of my ovaries removed.
1183832 tn?1264256608 I'm 36 y.o. and have three children. I have a history of endometriosis and had laprascopic surgery last July to remove some lesions. Over the past two years, I've had issues with recurring cysts on my left ovary. I suspected that there was one there in November which my dr. confirmed via u/s. I went back today in a lot of pain, have gained 7 lbs. of water weight in the past week and stomach is distended to what looks like a six month pregnancy.
