Avatar m tn Doctor has suggested me Linezolid antibiotic for 7 days since Enterococcus Faecilis was found in semen culture and sensitivity test. My question is - Is this infection very dangerous and does it affects fertility?
Avatar m tn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linezolid#Adverse_effects Interactions Linezolid is a weak monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI), and should not be used concomitantly with other MAOIs, large amounts of tyramine-rich foods (such as pork, aged cheeses, alcoholic beverages, or smoked and pickled foods), or serotonergic drugs.
Avatar f tn Hey all, So I apparently have had an untreated Staph infection since November (untreated because my doctor cultured it but failed to ever notify me of the infection...) I found this out, only because I went to the doctor because of some "agitation" in the same area (boil-ish type of thing, blistery, fluid, abscess - as it was called on my chart today) and the doctor I saw today, read it off in my chart (shocker to me)...
Avatar m tn She should see a rheumatologist and maybe even get a spinal tap. An autoimmune can also cause havoc in the body.
Avatar m tn Now, my question is - could enterococcus be transmitted on other persons through kissing (via saliva etc.)? Is it present in the mouth? And in what ways enterococcus is transmitted anyway? What kind of complications could it cause?
Avatar f tn 5 mg is a very low dose for adults and may be a typical dose for children, that is small more sensitive bodies.
Avatar m tn Hi, Thank you for the informations. This was a urine culture.A sample of my urethra was taken with a swab and it was contaminated with staphylococcus aureus.I have done the urine culture analyzed in three parts. My first part of the urine had bacteria, but the other parts were sterile. My doctor (2 years ago) has said that there's nothing to worry about. I have a additional question.Does chronic bacterial prostatitis affect the testicle area and can it cause damage to that area?
Avatar m tn I think it is folliculitis. I was prescribed by physician Amoxicillin Clavulanate 625 mg 1 tab thrice daily + Linezolid 600 mg 1 tab twice daily along with B-complex cap for 7-10 days. I took the medication for 7 days and all the infection seemed to disappear. But after 2 weeks of finishing my medication, the infection seems to re-occur. Please advise.
Avatar n tn I have Staphylococcus epidermidis in urine and semen in the Microgendx test as well. I was prescribed to take Clindamycin. It was effective. I am in Canada, and happy to discuss more details with you.
Avatar n tn hi. my sister, age 13 is in severe pain since a month...her pain is mainly in the upper midline abdomen..initially she had episodes of chills with high fever arnd 103F..and thus was admitted to the hospital..she was checked for everything..typhoid,malaria,dengu,leptospirosis.,everything was normal..,just like d xray was normal. We even went for an ultrasound which reported minimal pleural effusion n minor spleomegaly and the CT showed axial and pleural lymphadenopathy.
Avatar n tn For a very long time, a medicine called vancomycin has been the treatment of choice for infection with Methicillin-resistant staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Now, other medicines seem to be more effective, including teicoplanin and linezolid. You might want to discuss this with her doctors and ask if consultation with an infectious disease specialist might be appropriate, given that this may be a recurrent Staph infection.
Avatar n tn I belong to a support group for teachers and parents of children suffering from anxiety. Many of the children take medication - including Celexa. About four children in our group are on this medication (all in conjuction with intervention and/or therapy). For these children, this "drug" seems to work the best with the fewest side effects. Our child takes Celexa - before that Prozac and Effexor. Celexa is the best one for her - so far.
Avatar f tn I am an English women living in India. I had urine test and indicated few bacteria present so got antibiotic amoxicillin and doxicillin. The symptoms cleared quickly (although not 100%). However the day after I stopped taking the antibiotic they came back.I was in a rural area at the time and couldnt get correct test so a doctor gave me ampillin and cloxicllin to tide me over. Again some but not full relief.

1980489 tn?1326255851 The symptoms are the same in adults as in children - but keep in mind that not every adult has every symptom and neither does every child. I had it - and we all present pretty differently even though we are the same? Muscle fatigue means that exercise is pretty much a disaster - and the fatigue is overwhelming.
Avatar n tn are their any adults who took it as a child and had long-term negative or positive effects? Does it slow growth in children? Are their negative effects on school performance? I would really appreciate a doctor's opinion, or any other person who has had a child who has taken Prozac. Thanks so much.
Avatar n tn What are her chances of becoming diabetic? Her doctor said hypoglycemia sometimes precedes diabetes in children. Is is possible to "grow out of" hypoglycemia? If so, what are the chances of this happening?
