Avatar n tn Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?
Avatar f tn Is anyone out there using lidoderm patches for back and/or neck pain? My neurosurgeon just prescribed them for me--they're a topical anesthetic patch. I tried one, it seemed to help briefly. I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.
Avatar f tn t heard anyone say they tried Lidoderm patches-they work well for any part of your body you are in pain, and you can cut the patches into smaller ones if you want. They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.
563571 tn?1232491190 Do any or many of you use Lidoderm patches for pain? I used them some before getting Trimadol and still think about using them along with the Trimadol, but have some concerns. For several days I used them on hip, leg and knee (by instructions for number of patches and length of time) and did get some relief; however, my calf is swollen and very, very numb to the touch, but also burning badly.
934553 tn?1275274379 Hi, a lot of people benefit from the Lidoderm patches. I hope it helps. I completely understand about life consisting only of work and sleep. That doesn't make much of a life. That exquisite sensitivity to light touch is called allodynia. Often a firm touch is tolerable, but the light brushing of clothes or a light touch from another person is unbearable. Seems backward, but it is common. Another addition that can help the Cymbalta is a low-dose of amiltrityline at night.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with Lidoderm Pain Patches? I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
1182304 tn?1349305951 Just wondering if many on here have tried the Lidoderm patch? I have actually found it to help take off the sharp edges of pain in my back. I guess some insurances per my doc are kinda against it for anything other then for shingle pain, but my insurance did approve it for my chronic back pain.
Avatar n tn Noven Pharmaceuticals wants to come out with one as well, but their being tied up by Endo and a bunch of FDA nonsense. This is a more recent article about Watson: http://www.empr.
Avatar f tn Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.
1735424 tn?1357433558 I had some gastro pain a couple of weeks after vic was introduced (week 10), this resolved after a couple of weeks. HGB, Platelets, WBCs and ANC were all normal prior to tx and became quite low. Rescue drugs were necessary to keep going. I was in a trial and completed a 43 week tx 6 months ago. It was tough but ok as I pretty much expected. Good luck with your treatment, what week are you in?
Avatar n tn 3) Lidoderm patches are patches with topical lidocaine, which works as a pain reliever. Lidoderm can work for low back pain among other things. Lidoderm, unlike Flector patches and Voltaren gel, is not a topical anti-inflammatory but rather a numbing medicine applied to the skin. 4) An over the counter option, though not as well studied, is Aspercreme cream, which is a topical salicylate (aspirin) pain reliever. It works by reducing swelling and inflammation in the muscle and joints.
Avatar f tn Voltaren gel and/or lidoderm patcges may help take the edge off. They are prescriptions but are topical and not systemic. Nerve pain can be hard to manage and you sometimes need to piece a bunch ofvthings together to getvrelief. Pool therapy may alsonhelp.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone else ever has lower back pain with their MS symptoms. Sometimes it is accompanied with a fogginess.......lidoderm patches help sometimes.
Avatar f tn Hi. Have you asked your doctor about if Lidoderm patches can be prescribed? They're category B so no harm to baby in studies. Those worked wonders for me when I had a sprained coccyx. Worth a try!!
1309439 tn?1274114933 I have tried the Ibuprofin no luck they gave me lidoderm patches and they help sometimes they wont do anything for me until I see pain management and that has a waiting list crappy...thank you for the LUCK i need it ...I will feel better one day I am sure...
Avatar f tn Lidoderm Patches (they are generic now) and Voltaren Gel. The Lidoderm works by letting small amounts of the same numbing agent they give you when they work on your teeth. You can wear 12 hours on/12 hours off. The 12 hour off the Voltaren Gel would work also. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn He also told me that he is fine with giving me lidocaine injections if I choose, or he can call in a script for lidoderm patches that I can put anywhere on my body that hurts. I may also give Lyrica a second chance. It didn't work well for me before but I'm thinking about trying it again and taking it very slow when upping my dosage. Any thoughts?
