Avatar n tn Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?
934553 tn?1275274379 I cant feel my feet in the mornings it feels like I am walking on someone elses feet. Sometimes I get in my car and drive down the road just to cry. I am sorry to keep going on and on guys,. It is just therapy for me to write. I really love all of you and I have never met any of you. Thanks for listening. Missy I am a singer, It is hard to sing when you cant always hear the music. I am a nurse and I dont want to be nursed. I am the one people vent to so it is hard to vent to people.
Avatar f tn t heard anyone say they tried Lidoderm patches-they work well for any part of your body you are in pain, and you can cut the patches into smaller ones if you want. They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.
Avatar f tn ve been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.
1182304 tn?1349305951 Just wondering if many on here have tried the Lidoderm patch? I have actually found it to help take off the sharp edges of pain in my back. I guess some insurances per my doc are kinda against it for anything other then for shingle pain, but my insurance did approve it for my chronic back pain.
Avatar f tn Does anyone have experience with Lidoderm Pain Patches? I use three per 12 hour period along with oxycodone, tramadol, neurontin and flexeril for pain. All the talk about Fentanyl has me concerned. BTW I am so thankful for this forum, whether or not one posts one can gain so much valuable information without fear of judgement. Kudos to sandee for keeping it going and thanx to everyone for straight up honesty in your replies to questions.
563571 tn?1232491190 Do any or many of you use Lidoderm patches for pain? I used them some before getting Trimadol and still think about using them along with the Trimadol, but have some concerns. For several days I used them on hip, leg and knee (by instructions for number of patches and length of time) and did get some relief; however, my calf is swollen and very, very numb to the touch, but also burning badly.
Avatar n tn 3) Lidoderm patches are patches with topical lidocaine, which works as a pain reliever. Lidoderm can work for low back pain among other things. Lidoderm, unlike Flector patches and Voltaren gel, is not a topical anti-inflammatory but rather a numbing medicine applied to the skin. 4) An over the counter option, though not as well studied, is Aspercreme cream, which is a topical salicylate (aspirin) pain reliever. It works by reducing swelling and inflammation in the muscle and joints.
Avatar n tn Noven Pharmaceuticals wants to come out with one as well, but their being tied up by Endo and a bunch of FDA nonsense. This is a more recent article about Watson: http://www.empr.
Avatar f tn Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.
Avatar n tn As long as it's not an Nsaid, and more like IcyHot or something, then yes it's completely safe. I also use something called a "lidoderm" patch which has lidocaine in it but doesn't really go into your bloodstream. it's used for arthritis and localized pain and helps my back sometimes when my pain level isn't too high.
Avatar f tn Opiates are safe in pregnancy they don't cause birth defects this includes methadone which is used as a form of pain management not just for drug addicts. There are some risks of baby having withdrawal at delivery but this can be handled easily especially if your OB knows about it prior to delivery. Keep taking your meds as prescribed if you stop cold turkey it can lead to miscarriage or stillbirth.
600086 tn?1238418989 t believe what your body can do to you. I have so much stress and my body has shut down. I have pulled a muscle in my back and now all I can do is lay around. I have been clean 7 days tomorrow. The urge to use--anything--is strong. I know I am stronger. My husband was laid off and the stress of that and raising three young kids seems to be too overwhelming yet I know that I am of no help when I am not "me". I thank all of you for letting me get my feelings out in the open.
Avatar f tn Sometimes I think it may be radiating from the almost constant pain I have in my hips. I tried Lidoderm patches, but without success. I now have Duragesic patches for pain, and that helps with most all the pain I have. Motrin 800mg gives it a boost when the pain breaks through. I hope you can get relief soon. It kind of wears on you after a while, right?
Avatar f tn My lower back has been hurting the entire time. My Dr thinks I have SI pain (the joint that spreads open some during pregnancy to allow birth). I have to take pain meds for it, but I see a high risk specialistwe and everything. My back pain reaches a 10 within 24hrs of not taking pain meds so I can't sleep. I can go 72 hrs without sleep due to the pain. Ask your dr about Lidoderm %5 patches. They're SAFE during pregnancy and numb the area of pain some.
1309439 tn?1274114933 Yes sadly endometriosis can cause svere pain in the lower back as well as in the stomach area. It is truly an AWFUL disease. Sometimes a heating pad and ibuprofin will help. I have also soaked in a hot bath and it seemed to help.Good Luck to you. I hope that you feel better.
Avatar f tn Hi. Have you asked your doctor about if Lidoderm patches can be prescribed? They're category B so no harm to baby in studies. Those worked wonders for me when I had a sprained coccyx. Worth a try!!
Avatar f tn Lidoderm Patches (they are generic now) and Voltaren Gel. The Lidoderm works by letting small amounts of the same numbing agent they give you when they work on your teeth. You can wear 12 hours on/12 hours off. The 12 hour off the Voltaren Gel would work also. Hope that helps!
Avatar f tn He also told me that he is fine with giving me lidocaine injections if I choose, or he can call in a script for lidoderm patches that I can put anywhere on my body that hurts. I may also give Lyrica a second chance. It didn't work well for me before but I'm thinking about trying it again and taking it very slow when upping my dosage. Any thoughts?
Avatar n tn What should I do, I have had shingles for bout 9yrs now and they come every once in a blue moon, for the past month 1/2 I got them 3 times im on my 3rd one right now and it's on my knee and I have this pain that hurts and sometimes uncomfortable to bend knee or even relax, what should I do
