Have you tried to rub some muscle creme on it? You could also ask the doc. for Lidoderm patches and see if they help alleviate the pain. I hope you can get relief soon. Please be safe and take care.

Can a prescribed Lidoderm/ Lidocaine Patch 5% give u a pain pill buzz? Ive watched some of my friends go thru bad DTs and eat patches that were suppose to only be applied. I get Lidoderm Patches and have been keeping it a secret just incase. I don't wanna get robbed cuz they really help with my pain. I need to know if one of them ever find my patch and eat it or use it... will they get any kind of buzz from it?

I ONLY take Ocycontin 20mg x3 a day, 4mg Tizanidine (muscle relaxer) 1xdaily as needed, and Lidoderm patches. I also use a TENS unit, sometimes for hours! Am I still in pain? YES!! But it is livable!! I have my mind, can think and do for myself.. things I could not do while on all those meds..

ve been on gabapentin(neurontin)1400-1800mg for abt 5 years for sciatica...and other nerve pain. It has been a God send for me allows me to sleep at night without that throbbing pain. gabapentin is an anti-seisure medication, there are others in this catagory that I'v read that are also good.

Is anyone out there using lidoderm patches for back and/or neck pain? My neurosurgeon just prescribed them for me--they're a topical anesthetic patch. I tried one, it seemed to help briefly. I've been taking Lyrica for about a month, trying to taper off hydrocodone (after 7 months of steady use), and wondering why I have not seen these lidoderm patches mentioned by anyone in any of the back pain boards I've looked at. Looking for input on this. Thanks.

t heard anyone say they tried Lidoderm patches-they work well for any part of your body you are in pain, and you can cut the patches into smaller ones if you want. They are only made up of lidocaine (numbing) for surface pain, muscle pain, any pain. You wear up to 3 for no more that 12hrs and then take a 12hr break. Only one bad thing is they don't stick well, I have to use heavy duty med tape, but they are worth it. Plus, they are 235.

I guess some insurances per my doc are kinda against it for anything other then for shingle pain, but my insurance did approve it for my chronic back pain.

Do any or many of you use Lidoderm patches for pain? I used them some before getting Trimadol and still think about using them along with the Trimadol, but have some concerns. For several days I used them on hip, leg and knee (by instructions for number of patches and length of time) and did get some relief; however, my calf is swollen and very, very numb to the touch, but also burning badly.

I have been down and fightin sciatica for going on six months so I am looking for help for chronic sciatica. I only have a small tear and bulging disc. after I Had a cyst removed that was on my spine. No other issues according to MRI. My condition should be an easy cure but for some reason is not healing. Hi, I fell last year and broke my coxis. Eventually it fixed itself. Now it has moved and I am in a lot of pain. My doctor gave me Fentanyl patches and they are not doing much. I use Lidoderm patches for arhtitis pain. I don't know whether I can use both together and weather I can take some pain meds at the same time? I am going abroad in 10 days and there is no way I can cancel this trp... Please, help! Thanks.

Lidoderm Patches (Rx Only or doctor sample) work better for me and 5% Lidocaine Cream (you can find online) is awesome! Hope this helps.

I have had moderate to severe pain in my left thigh for about 5 years with varying degrees of pain in my left forearm and left buttock. hi Punkie..........thats a good question and I have the same pain from the buttocks to the hip and radiating to the thigh and down my legs..worse on left side........I have 2 problems and this pain could be caused by either one doctor says one thing the other says different so gets very confusing. 1. it very well could be caused by the bursitis in our hips, although from what I understand that pain should only radiate as far as the thighs and not necessarily down the whole leg. 2.

I have seen my doctor about a month ago and have sciatica. For sciatica I am only on Tylenol and Ibuprofen. I am getting pain still and very locked up. I also take Clonazepam and 10 mg Amitriptyline for cyclic vomiting syndrome (or abdominal migraine). I have been on the same dose for 30 years. I read that taking a higher dose than I am on of Amitriptyline can help back pain. Do you recommend that I ask my doctor for a higher dose to try? Do you think it would bring the pain down some?

I'm wondering how long folks waited to have surgery for sciatica. I'm at the 3-month mark and my symptoms are still excruciating. I'm a very active person and can't stand my new almost sedentary lifestyle. Any thoughts?

Hey there ladies just wondering if anyone has found any kind of relief for Sciatica. My left sciatic nerve is pinched and I can barely walk in the morning when I get up. It takes a good 10 minutes to get to a point where I can walk at least somewhat comfortably. I have only gained about 15 pounds too, so I dont understand why its hurting so bad. Maybe its from lifting somethign heavy last weekend, but since then that left side has been hurting really bad. Any ideas on how to get some relief?

I have been fighting Sciatica for 6 months. I am unable to stand or sit for any length of time. I had an MRI and had a Cyst removed via needle as out patient along with a steroid injection. I was told one in ten people the procedure would not be successful and happen to that one by a neurosurgeon. I was told they could TRY going in at a different angle and I could TRY steroid epidural. I have been searching for other options and have not found any with concrete results.

Im a Fibromyalgia patient with severe body aches and pain bad enough for narcotic pain killers. I get urine drug tested every month when i go to get my prescriptions from a pain management clinic. I have tested positive for either Hydrocodone or Oxycontin the last 6 times I tested. I havent taken Hydrocodone in 5 years and Ive never taken Oxycontin. The dr doesnt believe me and Im probably gonna be released because of it. I cant make him believe me.

I am going to meet a neurosurgeon next week. I am so worried About this right now and I am scared if this is sciatica. If that is the case can it be cured permanently, Or do I have to suffer my entire life? Thanks a lot for you kind attention.
