You can buy it at most pharmacy's - ask for it - it sometimes hard to find on the shelves.

The oral rinses cleared up the inside of my mouth in TWO days! I was overjoyed and will never wait to call a doctor again. The mouth cracks, however, are still here.

Avatar n tn The physician concluded that the infection was most likely virus related in nature and prescribed no antibiotics, only a viscous 2% lidocaine solution to help with the pain related to my sore throat. As I mentioned earlier the pain subsided on the 3rd but my right tonsil still appeared to be swollen until the 6th of August. The only remaining observation I have is that my lips are lightly chapped with a bit of dried skin around my upper lip.
Avatar n tn I am not undergoing any treatment for my Hep C, but I do have it. This past week I have suffered from horrible oral lesions. Avatar f tn I had them pretty bad towards the end of SOC - to the point that I couldn't eat solid food - but they were one of the first sx to leave at EOT. My Dr. recommended a weak salt/soda solution like they sometimes use for chemo patients and when all else failed, an RX of Magic Mouthwash that totally numbs the mouth. 1102290 tn?1278503553 We were able to use over the counter suppositories and lidocaine cream for external pain. Seems to have subsided a bit, however I noticed what looked like sunburn on his throat. It has been raining all day so i knew it was not sunburn. I asked him to take off his shirt and within one minute I watched the rash wrap around his neck and all over and down his back. He is not itching, yet. Is there anything that soothes the skin?
Avatar n tn kenzies mom, When the doc told you to use lidocaine, did they suggest anything else? Lidocaine does just numb the pain, but what a wonderful numbness it is. You have to find out why you are in pain. Is it muscle tension, over grown nerves. Those kind of things. Have you been to a pt to check out muscle/skeletal alignment/tightness issues? All of these things have to be looked at. Sometimes, I really really hate being a woman.

Avatar n tn I informed him that Lidocaine worked the first time (1999). 75 mg of Lidocaine did the trick within less than a minute. The episode in 2002 seemed to be triggered by mild dehydration. I continue to drink water for 1.5 hours upon confirmation of my tachy, using my heart monitor (ECG). By the time I got myself outside the ER, my heart rate had converged back to normal. I hang around the parking lot for 15 minutes, before drove home. Yesterday was totally new for me.
Avatar n tn The dermo treatment has been clobetasol cream, protopic ointment, oral prednisone, oral doxepin, clarinex, lidocaine 5% patch, and metoprolol. Avatar f tn I thought about it and did some research and I find it hard to believe cause I don't have any other symptoms all the time. I got a prescription for Lidocaine Viscous which is a oral form of local anesthetic and that gives me temp relief when I put it in a old affrin bottle and spray if up my nose 4 or 5 times. It really helps kill the pain but ultimately I am still hooked on snorting my pills and snorting the painkillers kill the pain in my nose for alot longer than my lidocaine.
Avatar n tn Prescription lidocaine does help...for about a minute...okay, maybe three minutes, and then it wears off. Eating (except for jello or ice cream is intolerable, and I can only drink with a straw. Even moving my mouth to speak is painful. It's even hard to drink the required amount of water and of course that's just making everything worse, because every part of my anatomy is dry and parched and itchy, As I recall, Audrey had a terrible bout with this...did it get better? What worked for you?
Avatar n tn i tried many things too for mouth sores while on tx. the thing that helped me most is a solution of food grade hydrogen peroxide. i rinsed my mouth several times a day and even brushed my tongue with it. i kept it under control with this same solution the whole time while on treatment. some of these sides may make you want to quit treatment but dont quit!
Avatar f tn My PM doc, does not want to leave me on a pain med and said if this doesn't work he says steroid epidural is the only solution. I understand that he doesn't want me on pain meds for a length of time, but I've only been on my new one (oxymorphone) for 1 month. I like this about him, since I hate meds, but is this the norm w/ PM docs? He is really pushing the epidural on me and I don't like it!
Avatar n tn My doctor prescribed me 2% lidocaine. It's really an oral suspension, but she told me to use it on/in the infected area. For me it was next to heaven to be able to sit with out pain for more than 30 minutes and to be able to potty with out wanting to shout! It 'numbs' the affected areas. I was told that I could either lay in the bath tub and squeeze the solution on 'me' or use a syringe and actually apply it to the inner parts of the labia minora, NOT actually 'INJECT' it.
