Avatar n tn Not very long time ago, I've found out that I'm allergic to lidocaine I have really horrible allergy on my face, around eyes and mouht area. I'm really fobic to go to the dentist and now it makes me suffer even of thinking I have to go, because they can't give me an anaestetic! I know, that there's two groups of 'caine' anaestetic, but how can I found out which one I'm allergic to? Which one can be used by a dentist on me?Who could do a test for me?
Avatar m tn My first inital OB lasted for about a week (pretty short) and I was prescribed with Acyclovir 400MG and Lidocaine 2.5% and Prilocaine 2.5% cream from my local Plant Parenthood. After my outbreak..I felt very normal. No tingling sensation, no itching, zero symptoms. That was during March. Since early April, I've been feeling a lot of tingling and itching on my genitals and buttox. I did catch a cold earlier, but now I am over it.
Avatar f tn I did a lot of research on the internet and found out there are two numbing creams LMX 4% Lidocaine, (available behind the counter) and EMLA 2.5% Lidocaine, 2.5% Prilocaine which requires a prescription. I bought both, and actually tested them on myself at home, by sticking insulin needles in myself after 2 hours of leaving the numbing cream on, and it works!
Avatar n tn This is a question for your doctor or a pharmacist.

1571533 tn?1322943509 From what I read it stops the nerve from sending the signals of pain....Lidocaine (INN) ( /ˈlaɪdɵkeɪn/), Xylocaine, or lignocaine (former BAN) ( /ˈlɪɡnɵkeɪn/) is a common local anesthetic and antiarrhythmic drug. Lidocaine is used topically to relieve itching, burning and pain from skin inflammations, injected as a dental anesthetic or as a local anesthetic for minor surgery.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever been prescribed this for genital outbreaks or PHN? My doctor did for PHN. I just tried it for the first time it hurt to apply and doesn't feel the most pleasant now. Has anyone ever used this and what was your experience?

383138 tn?1314167773 When you get tachycardia, is it just the plain lidocaine or theres epinephrine in it? Usually for dental anesthesia they used mux of epinephrine and lidocaine.
Avatar f tn The only danger is that lidocaine completely anesthetizes tissue, which is why you can cut or suture an area treated by lidocaine. Thus it is possible to cause a tear or injury that would not be noticed until the lidocaine wore off. In the case of normal intercourse, this should not be a problem.
Avatar m tn I didnt have any other pain relief except this lidocaine injection so my reaction was certainly from that. It caused me to have a near seizure or a seizure. My legs started majorly jerking, I started twitching all over. I was left so bad that I couldnt walk after the procedure due to all developing neurological issues. I was stuck in the dentist clinic for up to an hour until I was was able to walk to my car just outside the door.

Avatar f tn She proceeded to tell me to take herpes medication (Acyclovir) for 10 days until results come back. And she said to apply Lidocaine to reduce pain. I got home that night, stopped taking my antibiotics Sunday night, took the second fluconazole pill and applied the Lidocaine. The more I applied Lidocaine the more it burned and turned raw. I did start the herpes medication as well.
Avatar f tn More info if you have any would be great! Dont they cut cocaine with like benzocaine, or lidocaine, or something like that? If anyone knows? Yea, stop the coke though, every bit of Coke that makes it to your heart tissue, it kills it instantly!
Avatar f tn It probably isn't the lidocaine, it's the epinephrine that is in the lidocaine. You can ask your dentist to use an anesthetic without epinephrine, I have had tons of dental work and always ask for that. Dentist doesn't mind at all and I've never had any problems. It doesn't last as long but if you start to feel anything while they are working the dentist will just give you more. I have done fine with it.
Avatar n tn Re: Lidocaine Enemas. I am warning everyone to be careful. My brother just died 3/31/12 from a lidocaine enema. He was only 28. (Lidocaine Intoxication) Lidocaine in liquid form. I don't want anyone elses loved ones to die like this. I hope everyone will be careful when dealing w/lidocaine. it is a dangerous substance when not used properly.
Avatar n tn t have a headache. I understand that there is a test or treatment involving lidocaine dripped directly on the sphenopalatine nerve. How do I get to the right specialist. More importantly, do my symptoms sound like this syndrome. I plan to explore this more with my doctor which is 12 days away.
14051 tn?1238251732 I have had 7 lumbar surgeries starting in 1983 with the most recent being and double ALIF, 04 and hardware removal in 06. I have multiple problems resulting from my injuries, mulitlple surgeries, etc., with severe back pain, right side of back, groin, right hip, leg, right ankle and right foot, with RSD in right foot which is a result of the surgeries. I have gone back and forth to my surgeon, local doctors, Ocmed, neuroligists, and now, for the second time, a physiatrist for assistance.
Avatar m tn I have read previous posts, but am wondering what medications would cause a false negative 4th gen test. Medication that I am concerned about is lidocaine viscous. My Doctor has told me several times that it would not and that I am conclusive non-reactive. But just checking.
673999 tn?1226935279 The new standard inoffice bladder instillation for IC is Lidocaine instillation with bicarbonate solution. The lidocaine is a local anesthetic and the bicarbonate allows the lidocaine to penetrate the bladder wall to get to the bladder nerves. Lidocaine without the bicarbonate solution has only minimal bladder wall penetration and very short duration of action (minutes to an hour).

Avatar f tn There are other treatments for IC that are covered by insurance or cost a lot less, if the elmiron is not working. Ask your Urologist or seek a second opinion from someone who specializes in IC about your treatment options. There is a los of basic info on the Interstitial Cystitis Association website-- ichelp.org. If your husband can remember the source of his elmiron and memory news I would like to have it. I'll do some investigating as well. Good Luck Good Luck.

Avatar n tn She still has 1 filling left to get and frankly I am a little unsure about her having it done. The paramedics asked the dentist what she gave her and she told them lidocaine and epinephrine.
