Avatar n tn I have been using Combivent for about a month together with Asmanex to treat my cough-variant asthma and have had pretty good results. However, the first inhalation of Combivent always triggers a major coughing spell (sometimes it's so severe I almost vomit or my ribs hurt). Are there other bronchodilators that might be easier to inhale and still be effective? Or would using a nebulizer help? I've heard there can be adverse side effects with a nebulizer.
Avatar n tn I know this question is several years old, however this answer may help someone else dealing with this in the future. My 8 year had a bad cough from Bronchitis. Treated with antibiotics, Albuterol, pulmicort, prednisone, dexamethasone, Vicks vapor rub, warm mist humidifier, steam showers, honey, hot tea, Flonase, Zyrtec, air purifier, tessalon pearles, mucinex, pineapple juice, apple cider vinegar...everything and anything we could think of. It was every 3-4 seconds. No relief. Except at night..
Avatar m tn My doctor prescribed 3% lidocaine/0.5% hydrocortisone cream (which took two days to get). I was also using the hemorrhoid cream. In addition, I was using about 4-5 baby wipes to clean the area each time so that there was not one speck of anythiong left to irritate the hemorrhoids. Interestingly enough, about 6 days after that pain started, it began to decrease and after a couple more days, it was almost gone. I still had the external hemorrhoids but the hemorrhoid cream took care of them.
Avatar n tn t have a headache. I understand that there is a test or treatment involving lidocaine dripped directly on the sphenopalatine nerve. How do I get to the right specialist. More importantly, do my symptoms sound like this syndrome. I plan to explore this more with my doctor which is 12 days away.
Avatar f tn I have seen 13 doctors for extreme vulvodynia (specifically clitoridynia) which is getting worse by the day and have had no relief from every medication imaginable (Elavil, Neurontin,Lyrica, opiods, compounded meds, lidocaine). I need a non-medication approach like nerve block, but every neurologist I've contacted does not treat this disorder. HELP!!
1154802 tn?1266485720 If by inhaler you mean the dose measured albuterol, I would say use albuterol in a nebulizer instead. The reason I prefer the nebulizer is that you can use as little as you need since it is not measured. I have a small portable nebulizer (slightly bigger than a cell phone) which I take everywhere with me. As far as effictiveness is concerned, albuterol is albuterol no matter how you take it. I got off the inhaled steroids because they were killing me (literally).
383138 tn?1314167773 wants to do a lidocaine IV infusion, he says IV infusion of lidocaine is different than the dental injection. My cardiologist says I can't have lidocaine at all, due to my past severe heart reaction to it, but my pain dr. thinks it will be OK and has scheduled me for infusion for pain relief for this Friday. I dont know what to do, so any info on the lidocaine and any contraidictions with heart arrhythmias would be helpful. Thankyou.
Avatar n tn My son is taking albuterol through the nebulizer. He is having nose bleeds Is this common?
8166105 tn?1396868458 s very important your vet diagnoses any other ailments or genetic defects your dog may have before prescribing the appropriate treatment to assist breathing via a nebulizer.
14051 tn?1238251732 I have had 2 sympathetic blocks in the past, but no real relief. My surgeon gave me Lidocaine injections, on 2 different occasions, in my back, where the rod was on the right side to see if I had infection or the rods were the issue. The Lidocaine was a godsend!!!!
Avatar f tn He has done every antibiotic there is (pill form, nebulizer, inhalers and pick line) for this and nothing is working anymore. Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Avatar m tn At moment just ventalin & steroid inhaler until they do further test can you suggest anything ??
Avatar f tn Again, albuterol is usually used in the nebulizer and it takes about 15 minutes to finish the breathing treatment. You will feel the faster heart rate and possibly some muscle twitches and shakes for awhile after the treatment; that lasts about 30 minutes for me. How often are you using the albuterol? Every 4 hours is the norm. Certainly you should not be experiencing the arrhythmia all the time.
Avatar f tn About a week ago I had the worst attack and went to the hospital they gave me prednisone and a albuterol treatment after being discharged the dr prescribed me with an inhaler and a cycle of prednisone. Now that I completed the cycle. I told my sister what happened (who is also expecting) and she told me that taking prednisone can make your baby have a cleft lip has anyone herd or experienced this. Of course I mad a drs appointment for Tuesday but im totally scared.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you, clohr, might also have something called vulvadynia, and there are many treatment for that to try first. It often goes along with IC, I have this also. These things can also help with the pain of IC after sex as well! 1. rinse off each time you urinate with a peri bottle. 2. MAKE SURE to only use mild soap and unscented detergents, not dryer sheets or bleach etc. In anything that touches that are including sheets, 3.LIdocaine gel.
20805123 tn?1515178634 But right in April of 2017 when I was in 9th Grade I went to the Nurse to get my Nebulizer treatment because I was coughing all day. Well a few weeks later I'm still coughing, so my mom gets a ENT appointment and the ENT doc says it's chronic cough and gives me a nose squirter thing with some kinda spray meds in it, but after 2 months still nothing. so he gives me a inhaler to try for a month, guess what.... still nothing.
Avatar m tn My 20 month old son has asthma. He is on twice a day nebulizer of budesodine. I think it is very similar to pulmocort. He has developed a very red rash in the exact area of the mask. I am trying to get him off the mask and to the pipe but it has been difficult. He has been treated with many things from hydrocortisone to various antibiotic creams, ointments, and currently erythromycin gel. The gel is mainly alcohol and really burns his face. Does anyone have any ideas of how to help?
Avatar m tn Hi-I left my question around the same time as yours-did they take off on us for the holidays? I'll try and help you-you'd better get a black area checked out=that doesn't sound normal. what i was told was my emergency inhaler was just that-for emergencies only-do you have a nebulizer? I use that instead when i'm short of breathe and only use the other hand-held for an actual emergency or if I'm at work running around and don't have access to the nebulizer.
Avatar n tn If she had her complete treatment done and there was extensive work, they may have used a bit of lidocaine and it may have caused her seizure, especially since you noted that she took alot of shots. It may be that your daughter's tolerance for lidocaine is a little lower and hence, her dental work should be done in parts and broken up to reduce the amount of lidocaine needed.
Avatar f tn BUT my asthma really concerns me. When I last braved a nebulizer treatment with Albuterol, about an hour later I felt as if I were going to suffocate. I've ordered a Himalayan salt pipe for this and I PRAY TO GOD that I don't have any adverse reactions to it. I PRAY TO GOD that it works. With all this being said: Can anyone tell me if this condition has a name? What could I be suffering from? Is it simply an after effect from being on Salmeterol for 3 years (Advair)?
Avatar f tn I know a lot of people that prefer and use a nebulizer over an inhaler. I prefer the nebulizer. My doctor has me using the neb more than an inhaler. I am to use my inhaler only when I absolutely cannot use my neb or for very minor issues. Personally, I find it is MUCH more effective. The nebulizer produces a much finer mist than what comes out of an inhaler enabling it to get deeper into the lungs.
Avatar m tn Are there medications she should be on other than a nebulizer (which she just started), and an inhaler when symptoms are present? Should she be on the nebulizer every day? Thanks for any assistance.
7993104 tn?1396090856 I feel almost like I need a nebulizer treatment. I cough for a while and my the late morning I feel better but it is concerning. Is this normal? I would like to point out that while I snore, I didn't go to the doc complaining of any sleep issues. I feel that I sleep better w/o all that stuff on me. However my oximetry test said otherwise...
3112530 tn?1434032033 Other than this anesthetics such as lidocaine, BOTOX and steroids can be injected into the muscle. However, use of lidocaine and botox has its own side effects. A mix- and match of these treatment options have to be tried. Failure to achieve pain relief can be due to obturator internus muscle injury. Do discuss this with your doctor. Take care!
Avatar m tn I go to this weird Korean skin care place for my bacne. A few months ago, they injected triamcinolone+lidocaine into a few specific acne spots. I started itching like crazy, breathing was difficult, and they let me go home after injecting me with an antihistamine (I imagine). Rash went away after my 3 hour nap.
